I’ve only used the lighthouse a couple times with my i7+ due to the excellent mapping function, but I’ve found that if you place the lighthouse on the opposite side of the doorway, it allows the vacuum to get much closer to that entryway.
Your topic and coverage are great, but I could not follow what you said in the beginning due the speed with which you spoke. By the time you demonstrated, however, it made sense.
I could watch better if you slowed down a bit, and used a body mounted microphone... I have trouble following accented speech (to me) when it has that "empty room" echo... that's just me tho ;)
I’m planning on getting a Roomba because I’m additional to being great vacs, they are very explicit that they value privacy and are responsible with my data. I’d love a review of robot vac brands discussing privacy and who’s terms are best/worst.
I just saw i7+($1000 CAD) and i8+($1100 CAD) on sale for the same price $750CAD. So I bought the i8+ I hope it’s decent because I have a bunny and doggo and I like to do a deep clean with a vacuum 1-2 a week and then mop but my dog has severe dust allergies so I’m hoping this will help lessen any dust build up over the week. I hope it’ll help both doggo and bunny since bunnies are also sensitive to dust because they’re so low to the ground it can cause respiratory problems because dust and anything can get stuck in their little noses.
These robot vacuum can help keep the dust down especially if you run them 3-5 times a week. I di recommend a throughal vacuum by hand every month or so.
The main reason to get a camera based system is for the durability. Cameras have no moving parts so they tend to be more reliable. Overtime Camera systems can be more advance if they incorporate better hardware and software. Tesla uses camera for their self driving system over Lidar. For now Lidar sensor for robot vacuums offer live mapping, higher resolution maps, better object recognition and navigation.
Thanks yes you can vacuum out the bag and empty out the contents. Keep in mind after a few empty the bag will start to degrade so it best to dispose after that.
Man, you are talking way too faster than I think. Slowdown man to make your videos brilliant! Thanks for putting together an excellent video. You have demonstrated and explained everything thoroughly.
can you please tell me how to create a new job with roomba i8+? It does not give me that option in my app. Also, when I move my roomba to the upstairs it creates a map right over my first floor map which I don't want to change. thank you
So with the Roomba make sure you create a map first for both levels. Once the map is created the robot should ve able to determine what map it is on once you physically push the button. You can start a new job in the top right hand corner of the App. It will have you select the rooms you want to clean or you can clean everywhere.
@@RobotMasters oh crap, I wish I would have known that sooner. No wonder the mapping on the second floor wants to map over my first floor map. @@RobotMasters Thanks Nathan. With 4 dogs I have to clean the filter everytime and I vacuum twice a day. Doesn't make sense to get a self emptying bin.
Hmm hard choice, both have unique features. I would get the iRobot i8+ for homes that are messier and have a lot pet hair. Found the dual extractor bars to be easier to clean the hair off. The T8+ offers every feature imaginable. Lidar, the ability to live stream the front facing camera, an optional vibrating mopping system. One way audio output. So if you want a fully featured robot the T8 hard to beat.
I8+ is a Costco exclusive, has slightly longer battery life around 20% and comes with some additional accessories out of the box like virtual wall boundaries and extra self emptying bags. The i7+ can be bought everywhere.
