Yea... Im planning on using 14 AWG FPL Fire Alarm Wire, which is encased in conduit. The CAT5 Wire seen in the video has been retired, and is put to other uses.
Good upgrade! I have been thinking of doing this exact same thing in my own home however i dont know how I can get my parents and siblings to side with me
Yeah it really depends on many things, my parents bought the house a year before i started putting devices up, and they were ok with it. You should comply with modern building codes as well as something that blends in with the household, (The conduit in this system will be painted the same color as the wall, for example). My parents aren't a fan of horn strobes, hence the detector with LF Souder base in their room. So you just gotta pitch a good idea to them and see if they like it.
Hey, I just watched your video, I suggest using security or 20 guage wire as I have seen cat 5 or cat 6 wire melt.

@mfa_firesafety yeah I use 4 wire security wire because I do grnd fault protection with my devices
@@Dawezil mine doesnt have ground fault if mine does things get warm and melty
