No, perfectly understandable. But it was like going on a date with a girl and them leaving you to go gawk at a celebrity and then the celebrity actually taking interest in them.
Magnus, by far is the best World Champion for so many reasons. First of all, I've never seen the guy pompous or arrogant at all. We've seen him sign fans boards while all the players are entering the hall and he's just a great face for the generation of Chess. I've always loved Anish and Sopiko too. He's just a competitive guy with everything he does. I've seen other WC or super GM's who get carried away; you can't say that about Magnus. There's actually a lot of top players now that are just good people, but people know who they are or how they acted when they were younger which is just bad character. I know since Twitch and the Pandemic Chess had gained a lot of popularity, but for us who have been players and fans, this is a great time to be fans of Chess. When Kasparov was playing Deep Blue was also an amazing time to be alive. One of the highlights of my life was working in Manhattan and walking past Broadway and 44th and seeing Kasparov playing 10 people at once and another 10 people online and I think it was to launch a website or something. This was before cell phones I think, but definitely before smart phones at the least. If I remember correctly he won all games and got one draw from a girl in Israel, but I can't be sure. I think it was called Times Square Studios so you can see the action from the sidewalk through the windows.
I would also catch a cold when dressed like Anna 😊. By the way, Anish throws the bishop over the board, Magnus puts it back in the right place. What a sportsman!
I was in a big tournament in Pasadena in the late 70s (it had an open section with the best American chess players in the country, and it had an amateur division where people were organized by rating.). A rumor started that Bobby Fischer was visiting for the hell of it, just to check things out. There were scores of people walking over to where they thought he was. People in the middles of games would stop their clocks and both walk over. It was gigantic. OBVIOUSLY, Anna is going to stop her game to see Magnus. I don't know why so many people are insulting her for doing that.
30 minutes of Magnus, and then the tease of Judit Polgar at the very end. Now I gotta go find the video of THAT encounter. I was going to bed, Anna...!!!

Hmm, just saw this video. While Anna's reaction to the arrival of The Great One probably shouldn't come as a surprise, this is still not her finest hour. She is young, always wanting the most interesting chess content for her channel, and probably views MC the way many would regard Cristiano Ronaldo or LeBron James. It would have required more maturity of character to have responded differently in the first 30 seconds. I thought the guy in the blue shirt handled her faux pas quite graciously.
