Nice video but some important facts that you left out. The first population and first mayor of this city were Native American Chipawas. Later, the French and then German and even German mayors. That changed around 1940 when the Polish population increased substantially. To add, it was always diverse before Muslims moved in. They even have Muslim and Christians marrying one another too. Jewish also lived in this city. To add, you can find a sizable Yugoslavian population mixed in and Afghanistan too. Beautiful community.

@@WorldsReel sidenote. Michigan was also Canada before the British took us over. That's why Detroit and many of our cities are named French words. To add, boxer Ali,Malcolm X are from Michigan as well. Dearborn city, Kalamazoo city and Grand Rapids city Michigan also have sizable populations of Muslims. In fact Kalamazoo public schools teach Arab language as a 2nd language and they also have elected Indian Muslim to office. Miss America in the past was Muslim and from Michigan. Ironically she married a Canadian. Boxer Ali family still lives near Kalamazoo city. Michigan also has a huge Arab museum and used to McDonald's restaurants sold Hala food in Michigan but they discontinued that.
