- Convolution reverb is now part of Live 11, and whilst the tech has been around for decades, I decided it was time to have a go using underwhelming impulse responses I recorded myself using household objects.

Ned you are endlessly inspiring... Thank you
"don't you just love weird sounds"
Yes Ned. Yes.
*Although there were parts where it was hard to follow through, my Hybrid Reverb tastes delicious now, thank you! **17:27*
Glad you found this! I've come across this technique through mr.bill some time ago.
It becomes a lot of fun if you start importing sounds like shattering glass and so on. There is a lot to explore!
This is so cool!! Would binge watch a playlist of you deep diving Abletons FX plug-ins
I second this
Man I could listen to that beat and low end rumble all night...Turn it into an ambient track and I'd love to fall asleep to it!
Brilliant, thanks for sharing!
Mate the toaster was my favourite bit. Got my head gettin circular like Marc Ribillet
this reverb has a real physicality about it...
thank you ned, you've seriously nurtured my love for drinking a swig of beer before opening a project file - i hope all is well with you and yours!!
Ned made “ahhhhhhhh” sounds that should “never be made on UA-cam” and wants $5 on his Patreon for you to download them.
I’m in!
Lots a takeaways in this video, the biggest one being is don't worry about being able to record at high quality, because low quality recordings provide the most epic stuff.
Not enough love for the Gated Toaster Reverb. I bet it would sound great on some 80's drums.
One of my favorite convolutions was using a sample of the rainy day I recorded as the reverb - it isn't much of a reverb, but it adds a really unique dripping quality to the sound I'm sending through it. Especially just a bit of bird song coming through - a really cool sound design tool.
I hope, one day you will do a nerd ableton stand up Show!!!
All comes down to springs, really. Virtual Mouth Space creates some really erotic 808s
Being a massive contrarian is a legit form of art
Brilliant, great content and entertaining thanks subbed 🙂
"I had to take a break from UA-cam for a few weeks to build a load of furniture... so I could whack it with spoons and sample the reverb!"
sick computing
Cool experiments, really hoped u would have used multiple convolution in series and use IRs that aren't proper IRs at all but random sounds crafted (or trial and errored) to make suited.
And if vocoder with noise can often improve on drum/perc I figure so should convolution but I haven't dived deep in yet.
It's fun to experiment with any sound as a "reverb". A snare drum, distorted guitars, farts...
Try cranking the feedback in the lower left corner and then automating the predelay.
Convolution XT is a really good free option for non Ableton users.
yeah that shit booms on my monitors!
Let's go full attack with the toaster😂
i just skipped back 14 times to 15:02
0:34 huh?
You can't possibly have 3 or more allen keys!
HHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA reverb
