Does anyone else feel like there's a lack of people in general in this world ? It feels like there's no citizens, no soldiers, even the politics feel generic. It just feels empty. Like they drew the bare minimum number of people so they wouldn't have to work too hard.
Absolutely. The lack of detail ABSOLUTELY have to do with lack of time, budget, talent, or all of the above. For example, I can explain why that 'green fire tunnel' exist in the last season. It is simply there so Entrapta can be, well, trapped. WHY is the tunnel there in the Horde base? Think about it for one second and you can come up with "It's a disposal tunnel. Refuse from the factories are burnt here." But ofcourse, that would require drawing scraps and garbage. And lots of it. They can't afford the time and money to do that, so empty tunnel. Don't explain. It's there for Entrapta to get trapped. Plot device!
There's barely any people other than the main characters. There were citizens in earlier episodes, but the maximum would be ten at least. Entrapta has the least citizens and Mermista's abandoned her. The last time we'd see them again was in Castaspella's kingdom. (The _PrInCeSs PrOm uwu_ doesn't count because they were cameos) The horde and bright moon do have soldiers but they don't appear often. The lack of citizens really hinders the show in its so called female leadership message and in a way makes the show lazy. It would be forgivable if the show explain the lack of population, but it's too late. I question why fans of the reboot say it's better when the artists can't make the show alive.
I call these kinds of shows "Ballgame shows". This is because the characters will be given a 'ball' to alter their normal character based on what the plot demands. Frosta here had the Idiot Ball passed to her.

I think that Kyle could have fit the role that Frosta is playing if they had taken him from the Horde. Desperate to impress Glimmer and Bow to find a place with the team so they don't end up mistreating him like the Horde. I preferred Frosta as an Ice Queen trying to prove herself.
They really just bungled Frosta's characterization, didn't they? Frosta being the Head of State at 8 YRS OLD would certainly force her to grow up fast and display a maturity beyond her yrs. instead, she gets relegated to the "Jubilee" role.
You know I kinda like that interpretation if they stick with it. Here's a child who had been thrusted into the position of head of state, so she act in the way she THINKS an adult should act i.e. stern, authoritative, inflexible, bravado-filled stick-in-the-mud. It would be a great character arc to have her 'defrost' (haha PUN!) and really reveal that insecurity.

Here's an idea for a better character development track for Frosta: Frosta, impressed by Adora and seeing her as a heroine after the events of the finale, begins to idolize her. Because of this, she tries to change herself to be more like Adora, even though it puts her in danger. Glimmer tries to outright tell her that this is wrong and that she's getting the wrong ideas from Adora's example- such as seeing her leaving to train as a sign that heroes should try to confront danger and challenges alone- but it doesn't get through. Eventually, Glimmer comes to Frosta's rescue in her hour of need, and only then does her words get through to Frosta. At that moment, Frosta starts to idolize Glimmer more than Adora and starts trying to take her advice. This works on a few better levels. 1. Makes sense for Frosta to get starstruck by Adora now that she's seen "She-ra" in action, since it's considered such a big deal. 2. It portrays Glimmer as a rational leader who is willing to care about her followers. She doesn't just worry about Frosta because she's annoying her, but because her actions are risking her health. Leaders teaching and learning from other leaders. 3. This would be a great chance for Glimmer to talk to Frosta about how they both made the wrong decisions before and how they have more to learn. (I.E. There's the prom talk.) 4. It would make Frosta seem less childish. She thinks she's doing what is best to become a successful leader, not realizing that she's not seeing things as they are.

We have to change that, any ideas?!” Writers; “ We could have a special episode dedicated to Glimmer reflecting on her actions and mistakes. Coupled with a type of journey that allows a character to grow completely independent of the rest of the main characters!” Noelle: “ I know! I’ll just make a stupid parallel for Glimmer and throw Frosta’s character under the bus! I’m so smart~!” (Seriously though, this and Kyle’s abuse makes me believe that she’s had personal vendettas and just takes them out on this show)
LOL! Frosta's personality shift is jarring to say the least. Interestingly enough, I recently learned the people working on the She-Ra reboot are all brand new so maybe that's why it feels so rough. And I have been so looking forward to you twins critical review of this show. So enjoyable. And the thing with Larry Ditillo seems so tacky and disrespectful.
I hate that Frosta's personality change is basically that tired "kid character follows around older character and tries to imitate/be like/impress them while the older character's charmed at first until it gets annoying" cliche. Like, I'm also annoyed at Netossa and Spinerella for being the token interracial gay couple too, but that's another larger can of worms. The Larry Ditillo thing reminds me of the end of the Ghostbusters reboot where they haphazardly throw in a statue of Harold Ramis as Egon at the end despite crapping all over the original which was even more disrespectful.

Sorry but I disagree. There are a lot of first time or fairly new creators making pilots and demo reels and they do a much, much better job than the SheRa staff. Even just looking at Calarts or Gobelins publishings makes this show look sad and pathetic. The only thing that this show has going for it is the concept in my opinion. I am really trying to watch it and give it a chance because I am usually into cartoons of that calibre, but every episode i watch just makes it feel so much worse.
dragon prince has two child rulers and both show way better judgement than frosta does. even their mistakes are more understandable because they prey on flaws we were specifically shown or very easy to infer from what we do know. and they learn from them

I like the idea they had with Frosta, she and glimmer could make an interesting combination but they really should have stretched this out over a few episodes. In the first episode, Glimmer could have saved Frosta and her obsession could have grown from seeing someone almost her age that has enough respect to be a general. But yes as is they pretty much threw out her old character and made a new one.
I agree. I might have liked Frosta's new personality, but there wasn't nearly enough explanation for her change; it's definitely like she's a completely new character.

To be fair to Frosta she is a child and it probably wasn't ger choice to be a leader. Sure she should be more responsible but than again what do you expect from a 10 year old and she at least TRIES to be responsible. Glimer on the other hand is not only older but acts like more of a child than her. Not to mention if her job is tOo StReSfUlL she could probably find someone to replace her. She keeps her position not because she feels like it's her life calling , because she feels the need to protect her people or because she has no choice, she just likes to feel special and imporatnt while doing the minimal efort. I don't like Frosta (or anyone in this show besides Kyle for that mater) but please don't put them in the same bag. Glimer is at least 10x worse.

In the matter of seconds. She doesn't have a lot to go by but instead of see how and who to look up to and evaluating that situation like any ruler would she follows a liability that doesn't care to listen to authority taking risks that yeah a child would follow but not one with REAL responsibilities would. Glimmer can be reckless she has a crutch aka her mum to bail her out but Frosta isn't so lucky she is the only one.
What I wanna know is why do they like to abuse Kyle so much!? I really thought he'd fit well into the BFF Squad. But nope. They treat him lik shit too. They could've brought him into the team and then actually make use of him. As he grows in confidence you'll see why he was picked to be in Adora's team. Just like Ron Stoppable in Kim Possible, where he could have been one of the strongest characters but due to low selfesteem he tends to be content as the sidekick but when push comes to shove he does his part :v
If you are a white cis gendered male, you are getting the gutter treatment. Seahawk and Kyle are in the dud pile. Seahawk gets a slight pass since he's sexually ambiguous though.

in any show of the 80's or 90's Kyle would either become a villain after some freaky accident or expetiment or have defected by now, heck, even in modern times that is what we expect to happen, just look at Seidou Takizawa from Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul Re, in the original he was an insecure Ghoul Investigator (called Doves in the series) but was upstaged, mocked and underestimated by everyone save for his friends, then he died... except he didn't, he was captured, tortured and turned into a ghoul in Re and hoooo, boy... WHO'S LAUGHING NOW?!!! would be interesting if Kyle was taken by Hordak, experimented on, transformed into some crazy cyborg, or mutant, with the help of Entrapta and sent to fight the Alliance, but, due to his mental state, he attacks the Horde as well, Hordak could manage to stabilize this condition, kinda, he would still have episodes of berserker rage, and after Entrapta went back to the Alliance, because that will happen eventually, Kyle would be gunning for her most and would be dead set on making her deader than dead.
I’m a psych major and I can tell you from the way the new creative team treated Larry Ditillio’s death says one of two things, either he wasn’t important enough to them or they didn’t have much confidence without him so they just left the fact he passed away to the last minute so they could either get sympathy points for the lack of quality control or push the fact the show might not be as good without him on board. Another option is well... they either felt bad about picking on a dying man or they knew if they didn’t say anything before the premier, people would suspect something was off and try to ask him what happened and then realize that on top of being jerks to Ditillio, they were also malicious monsters for not only picking on a dying man but stealing his work and making it worse for selfish gains and petty spite. One last option, and I hope this is the reason why... they are inept morons who didn’t realize that not saying anything the day Larry died would end up being an immediate black spot on their character in the eyes of the show’s fans and voice actors. So any way you slice it, the new creators have a mess they gotta try and work through.
Ladies, the fact that Frosta is focused on Glimmer is because as the short, chubby one is the author insertion character, the show is ALL about the Glim-glim.
Wait, what? Entrapta got her stuff from her old kingdom? That means that she either had her people deliver the stuff to the Fright Zone, and those servants did not tell the rebellion, or more likely, the Horde invaded and Entrapta was OK with it. Either way, that's going way too far with making her an uncaring evil villain. Yes, Entrapta is more concerned with tinkering than ruling, but that still feels like a bit stretch for her to go from neglectful ruler to a ruler who basically sold her people out to the Horde. All in all, glad I am not watching this season.
...... OKAY! I am really struggling to see why people like this show. Say whatever you want about the original series, at least they tried to tell a story. Yeah, the 80's She-Ra was... Well, "typical 80's cartoon fair" but at least it was consistent overall, at least the characters had their own distinct personalities, at least there was effort in crafting a friggin' arc! AT LEAST THERE WAS GENUINE EFFORT! This series is so focused on diversity that everything else is thrown out the door and MAN does it show!
Reasons why I personally like the show: (1. I think the show's strongest point is how it handles it's relationships. Adora and Catra are obviously the main example, as their rivalry paired with their history is very intetesting to watch. Other examples like Glimmer with Bow and her Mother, Mermista with Seahawk, and basically every relationship between Horde characters also stand out to me. Honestly I'd say the show handles exploring personal relationships between characters better than most cartoons. (2. Catra as a character in general. There's a reason why she's a common favourite amongst both the fandom and the hatedom of the show. She undoubtedly has the clearest and most solid character arc in the show, her relationships with Adora, Shadow Weaver, and to a lesser extent Scorpia and Hordak are really engaging. The fact that she's a villainous character I can sympathise with, who I find myself rooting for while most of her enemis and even allies constantly beat her down reminds me of Prince Zuko from ATLA, which is always a good thing. Overall she's just a really interesting and fun character to watch. (3. You can have whatever opinion you have on the show's art style and animation (I personally think it's alright), but I find the show's background art to be exceptionally gorgeous. (4. The music is also quite exceptional. I really like the transformation music and its variations that play during action scenes. Other notable examples include Catra's theme (Suitably cool and intimidating), the song that played the first few times Adora transformed into She-Ra (Really conveys the powerful and mythical nature of the character), and episode 11 was just full of outstanding dramatic music that set the mood really well. (5. I'm just really hungry for action/adventure cartoons with a focus on the story, which aren't as common these days. I'm happy with anime and more comedic cartoons, but there's this feel to western story driven action/adventure cartoons that's hard to find these days and which this show provides quite serviceably. (6. Swift Wind and Seahawk. I just find them hilarious and a fun time to watch. The main problems I have with the show are its issues with inconsistent tone and characterisation (I think Frosta's sudden character shift can be explained by the audience first metting her when she's in an especially important position of responsibility (Both being the princess of her kingdom and hosting a gathering of the other kingdoms) so she'd be acting much more stern and responsible, while in season 2 she's interacting with a group of friends (Which she even says she's never had before) so she's acting much more like an inexperienced 11 year old. However the shift is still quite jarring, and I think the show could have used a bit more time to properly transition it). I also have a problem with the world building. I just can't figure out what locations are supposed to be where, and the distances involved. It's especially problematic in a show like this where plot elements related to the geography like the expansion of the Horde's territory and the search for First One's ruins and technology are very important. Overall the show definately has prominent issues but it's not nearly as bad as some people make it out to be. I wouldn't call the show great, but I think it's pretty good. I'd call it decent at the least.
“Oh course frosta is like glimmer! They are so similar!¡” yes, but not really. I could totally see this working but cramming it into one episode? No. Frosta, unlike glimmer. Was placed on her thrown ate a young age, being forced to grow up fast and have the maturity beyond her years. Like for instance Clem from the walking dead series. She was quite literally forced to be the adult and had to baby sit the actual adults who where too stuck in their own ways to do what was right for the group to survive. Clem had to carry them on her shoulders and on top of that, eventually a baby. You see her grow and mature fast because she didn’t have a choice to be a kid. She didn’t have a choice depend on others. I suppose she did but after season one and two she knew that she couldn’t really fully trust people. She needed to be independent to survive. Even when she was around people her own age, making friends. She still hold her guard and never went out of character. Frosta realistically wouldn’t go out of character. Season one she wanted to be seen as mature and capable to run a kingdom, and she was. And that’s because she stood her guard, like Clem. So it just doesn’t seem realistic for a character like this to do a 180 in one fucking episode.
The only reason I even watched this season was to see how badly they could possible make it. Frosta's character change is only the tip of the iceberg (pun not intended)

I honestly thought Frosta would reveal she was intentionally imitating Glimmer, since they focused on her having no friends, and was "trying too hard" to be friendly but came out as obnoxious. Frosta using Glimmer as a role model only for Glimmer to realize how bad she was at the beginning and telling Frosta to just be herself would've been great character development for both of them. ..but nah, let's just make her Glimmer 2.0 so Glimmer 1.0 looks better by comparison. As for the whole season, this episode in particular was just as bad as the first season, but it actually kinda gets better after this.
You know you REALLY don't care about your show's viewership if you decide to release in the same weekend Avengers: Endgame hit theaters. Perhaps it's to avoid,the negative press?
When it came Larry Ditillo, it’s possible they just used his death just to market the show, since it came out when Endgame came out. They’ve proven that they don’t respect the original, and when they suddenly do it was because people were giving out bad reviews and criticisms. So I wouldn’t be surprised if Larry Ditillo was just a tool to them. It is good to see improvements, and I guess the Netflix marketing helped the show because Imagine if this season was still season 1, it would seem pretty out of nowhere and would’ve just made most of the season look worse. I also want to let you two know that this season is said to be mostly about character relationships, which might be why Frosta was suddenly interested in Glimmer. Same thing with other characters. And lastly, if I heard correctly, season 3 was also supposed to be season 1. Which means this show originally planned on having a 26 episode first season. Just wanted to give you that heads up. Great video as always.
But they could make Frosta motivation to like Glimmer above the others more clear( like she super happy when Glimmer was giving others so the motivation was because she is the leader of the princess or she saying something like "it was very brave of glimmer make the princess fight together again" so that was the motivation
I was greatly disappointed in the hoard's and the princesses inability to do...anything right at all this season. both sides were pitiful. My fav was scorpia. Everyone else missed the mark with me, this coming from someone who enjoyed last season
Honestly, I'm so glad I never got into this show because of the behind-the-scenes shit and seeing the disdain shown for Classic She Ra bugs me--like the Powerpuff Girls reboot, and the Ghostbusters reboot, I'm left asking, *IF YOU HATED THE ORIGINAL SO MUCH, WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO TAKE THE JOB FOR A REBOOT ANYWAY?*
I don't think there's anything wrong with taking a show/episode you don't like and making it better. It just needs to make sense context-wise and character wise.

I knew they they would completely blow over the fact it was Frosta's fault for a lot of what happened, such a bright moon- But she's just a little kid so it's okay, even though, she complains about not being treated like everyone else. Something tells me she wouldn't like be held on trial for allowing the Horde to abduct a Queen's daughter during her party. It also seems Frosta acts a lot like every other character; Like the creator can't actually make complex characters and just uses the annoying little kid trope tribe that pretty much everyone saw coming. Why was she brushing her hair? It makes no sense, it's too short... Predictably; Glimmer just wanted the title of "Leader" and does nothing to show leadership. The Princess magic feels like it's just a Deus Ex McGuffin to use when the writers are in a corner.
Frosta was a character that I thought had an interesting personality... and I wanted to see more from her, kinda sad they changed her personality, just to give an ark to Glimmer ;-;
Wait, this is seriously the only time Netossa and Spinnerella appear in the whole season? Damn, it's worse than I thought. I was already annoyed by how poorly treated by just the first episode, but this makes it even worse. It's really sad to me that this show that wants to be progressive with LGBT representation makes it that of the six characters who were confirmed as LGBT in season one are Bow's dads who are never seen or mentioned, Sweet Bee and Peekablue who are only mentioned once and never seen, and lastly, Netossa and Spinerella, who are treated like background characters and get less lines than a friggin' horse. Also, maybe it's just me, but I found that Bow automatically assuming Entrapta's alive due to the robots having First One's tech to be a bit of a leap. Sure, he's right, but it bugged me that this was the conclusion he instantly jumped to and I agree that Frosta seemed wildly out of character here.
Good old Netossa and Spinnerella and their epic off screen powers. All this cause Noel wanted to Voice one of them, so they now live perpetually silent and useless.
Season 2 is not even the second half of season 1, it's episodes 14-20 of the 26 episode first season. This opening, however, does its best to make us think the writers took a long hiatus and forgot who had which personality. I was willing to accept Season 1 Frosta. In fact, aside from Glimmer, I've been mostly okay with the characters having different personalities from the original (since a lot of reboots do that), but what they did to Frosta shows that they not only lack respect for the original She-Ra and its fans, but also to their own version of She-Ra and their fans. It's like they hate working on this show, and are only getting by thanks to the brand-name and because Stevenson is sort of popular with the Tumblr crowd. The only positive is that this season premier was so bad my expectations are at zero. It would take talent at being awful to not make the show worse than I expect.
The reason why they did this is because according to SJW logic all women must get along and have no issues with each other I bet you anything that by the end of the series all the evil women will be redeemed
As so many people have called out, the show uses anime tropes to a point where even anime fans have to say 'C'mon, give it a rest.' But as it is, I never had any sort of expectations for 'season 2' since it's just the same as the first and keeps all the highlights that I dislike about this reboot. As for Frosta, there are better ways they could have handled the idea of a child Princess having to force herself into a more mature position while still retaining the mentality of someone her age but they went beyond that and it doesn't come off as another tired 'EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED' shit but them just throwing out a personality type for this character and thinking that it's cute simply because THEY did it in THEIR reboot with THEIR 'unique' versions of these characters. Frosta was already a stupid character, and a boring one, to begin with but her flipping the switch to go from prudish to annoying doesn't make her any better. Like I said, there's a way you can do this type of character to ENDEAR them to the audience but this ain't that. It's just another annoying as hell character to deal with in this trash series. Also, I wanted to add in the other point that because most of these characters were introduced so late into the series their interactions, as you mentioned, don't come off very well and just feel forced. I can understand them trying to create this idea that Frosta see Glimmer as the big sister type (as horrible as an idea that is because....GLIMMER) but it would have been nice to have an interaction in SEASON 1 where they had the big meet up and battle to show Frosta STARTING to show that type of idolization towards her (Glimmer). There's also this feeling that because everyone is so isolated from each other, you start to question how they even know each other. Again, there's a lot of SAYING going on but it doesn't feel like any of the other Princesses actually know each other even on a more political (as in how their kingdoms are run and function between each other) base, especially when the big conflict in this series is that the Horde lied about the Princesses being the evil ones....so one would think that between that time there would be more curiosity between each kingdom to how they're doing. I know the Princess Alliance split with the death of Glimmer's father or what not but again, there just isn't that much of a connection. And now that I think about it, it would have been funnier if Frosta kept her authoritative behavior but had that mixed in with the inner childishness she actually has and could possible be confused about (given she goes around all the time pretending to be an adult). Instead of her being HYPER HYPER HYPER, why not have her TRYING to get closer to Glimmer but because of the clash between how she acts and how she THINKS she acts, she comes off messing up some of the things she wants to do which could possible lead to Glimmer having to be the mature one in this bit and telling Frosta that it's fine for her to be a kid and have fun and she can STILL be a leader at the same time. Not only would this allow Frosta to keep the harder part of her but it could open up to her being softer, as well as giving Glimmer something to do and place her in a situation where SHE has to take on an actual mother role for someone else rather than having everyone bend to her will. It would be a growing opportunity for both of these characters.... BUT WE ALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. =\
I’m glad you talked a little bit bout frosta. It bothered me how a mature child became goofy.I liked her mature tho. Plus I wished the two lesbians were open more in this season
in a weird way, i kind of liked this season better than season 1, though the flaws in it make me dislike it more than season 1. (like i said, its weird) I think my main issue is how it feels more like DLC to Season 1 rather than a brand new season. It may be because this season is wayyy shorter and seems to be more focused on smaller conflicts rather than an overarching goal like what Season 1 had. also, Frosta was a character I liked the most in season one, since her conflict and character type seemed the most interesting. Needless to say, i do not like Frosta's new personality -_- If they really wanted to have Frosta be a parallel or foil to Glimmer, than they should have just kept her original stoic character and have conflict erupt from that. At least then. using her to Spur Glimmer's character development would still make sense and be consistent.
Entrapta is a girl who apparently doesn't care about where her scientific curiosity leads her, why not take that to the utmost extreme, have Hordak be tired of Kyle and comtemplate disposing of him, until that other soldier from Adora's old squade pushes him around a little too many times, he snaps, disarms her and is about to kill her until Hordak knocks him out and impressed with his potential for anger decides to experiment with him and hands him to his scientists and Entrapta to combine with the crazy First One's tech, she does it and he becomes a berserker cyborg prone to snap and attack her and any of the other scientists involved and anyone that gets in the way but Hordak stabilises him and he attacks the Alliance instead, but still has instances where he attacks his tormentors but they have a killswitch that stops him (not kill, just incapacitate and help him focus his anger) until they get Entrapta to defect back to the Alliance and Kyle goes berserk, overpowering even the killswitch but focusing his wrath at Entrapta and Bow, for added drama, they could have Bow actually try to form a connection with Kyle and him considering defection before all goes to shit and he is transformed into a horde supersoldier, have Bow recognise him and imediately get firious at Entrapta demanding to know just what the hell she did to him, with Adora and Glimmer jumping to her defense but Bow having none of it and avoiding interacting with Entrapta more than necessary, have that create a real rift between both Bow and The Alliance and Adora and Catra by having Adora finally growing a spine and calling out Catra on Kyle and every other shit the Horde has pulled up until that point and this time so scathing Catra has no comeback, have Bow vowing to restore Kyle's sanity with or without the help of Entrapta and the Alliance, there, conflict, drama and people being called out on their BS but more importantly, consequences.
@@lavenderplace8591 The way Kyle is described by the reviews makes me think of Seidou Takizawa from both Tokyo Ghoul series of mangas (don't waste your time with the anime they butchered the second part of Tokyo Ghoul and the entirety of Tokyo Ghoul Re) so, my story was inspired a bit by him, Takizawa was an insecure Ghoul Investigator that was underestimated and never taken seriously by his peers, he is thought to have died after a raid but in truth was captured by ghoul terrorists and tortured, and like the main character, Kaneki, is turned into a half ghoul hybrid, a one eyed ghoul (called that because when using his powers only one of his eyes turn into a ghoul like eye) what is interesting about him is that his viciousness after he is turned into Owl is brought about not only by insanity from being tortured and experimented on by a crazy human scientist sociopath but also by hatred, pure anger at always being seen as lesser, being in his eyes, abandoned by his comrades in arms, left to rot in what can only be described as hell, he became a combination of brutality in combat, mercilessness and is prone to tormenting people psychologically, even when part of his sanity is restored, he admits to Kaneki the man named Seidou Takizawa died in the Aogiri Tree lab, he is just an Owl type ghoul now, that being said he is the only one that survived the process to turn him into a copy of the ghoul nicknamed Owl, wich makes him extremely strong and proves that he was underestimated by his peers, for Kyle's part it would be cool if his personality was like Owl's but toned down, and more personal with Entrapta and Bow, of course Entrapta wouldn't be a sociopath like Kanou, the evil scientist but both Bow and Kyle would consider her actions evil regardless, i'd make a couple of episodes where Bow becomes Kyle's friend and on the day before he defects all goes south, and one episode where Bow and Evil Kyle (or HK-Alpha H for Horde, K for Kyle, codenamed Horde Nekros) have to work togethet and take command after one of Entrapta's inventions is used by Hordak and goes haywire with them having been the only ones capable of shutting it down with Entrapta as mission control, they would succeed, Entrapta would be truly remorseful and apologise to both men, but Kyle wouldn't accept it and Bow would forgive but not forget and still be hurt by all of it vowing to help Kyle, who would retort that while he sees Bow as a friend, he could never forgive Entrapta and can't work with the Alliance as long as she is there, Bow would say he understood but that the horde is no place for a kid that is still good and if he wouldn't consider leaving it, Kyle would have no answer, but when on Horde HQ, or right after he turns to leave the battlefield he would smile, showing that he is considering what Bow said, and no, he wouldn't ever forgive Entrapta, there are things that are broken and can never be fixed
Spoilers, Kyle gets turned into leech, or Mantenna. I hope that isn't the case, but I see no pleasant future for that kid. Sadder that he's voiced by the voice of Pit from kid Icarus.

I noticed that about Frosta too it was sooo annoying. I personally think that it would be a re interesting if Frosta trying to make it up to the Rebellion.

I personally love this show, and thought that season 2 is pretty good. However, Frosta's personality change was completely unnecessary, unexplained, and annoying. I really liked the serious, no-nonsense personality that she had in season one. What I was really hoping for in season two was a more prideful, we-are-allies-but-not-friends sort of thing where she eventually comes out of her shell and warms up to the other princesses. But, instead she became reckless, disrespectful, stupid, childish, and basically an annoying little sister to Glimmer. I might have been okay with that if it was explained, but it wasn't, so it was very upsetting for me. I also think it would have been a better plot if she went from season 1 personality to season 2 personality with an actual transition and journey towards that.
What really bugs me is that the story for this show is soooo bad, there is almost no story and to much fluff. Who ever signed off on the script should be fired. i can get past the weird animations and drawings but without a really good and interesting story its just really a bad show. I really would like to know if this is really the best the could come up with, because I feel like most the people watching these review videos could come up with a better story.

Chris McFreely, a very respected part of the transformers fanbase loves this show, and said himself that he's more excited for this than for Endgame. Who am I to judge a man's taste?
If they released the original series on Blu-Ray, there'd be more people getting that, then watching the new show. I've heard people are bragging that the new She-ra has more seasons then the original, but they won't admit it's just season one diced up to appear to have more seasons.
I was very underwhelmed and disappointed with the show proper. The creators are clearly now communicating with each other or checking stories before animating them. It's very distracting. Say what you want about Shera Classic, but at least they were able to keep the establish plot going and keep their characters in character.
Once again Glimmer must be the main character instead of Adora. Yay! What's that? Adora's weapon is acting up when it should have happened in the first season instead of the rush job? Nah, let's have it in the 2nd season, which is really still the 1st season. The set ups for the "plot" are still poor while the actual movement for war is nice and all, but it does feel like there were two writers and they mush things together instead of separating it into 2 episodes.

I like she-ra(the reboot): the character designs are pretty cool and the voice acting is good, BUT. I can’t deny that at times the writing does feel inconsistent and in this case concerning Frosta she was SUPER inconsistent with her character from season one with no explanation which kinda confused me.
I get the feeling they made Frosta a kid because they saw Lyanna Mormont (played by Bella Ramsay) in Game of Thrones Season 6 and thought: "We gotta have a girl character just like that! Can we get Bella Ramsay to voice her too? No! Ok, we'll still base Frosta off of her character."
They have no respect for the original show, so why would they show any respect to the original creator. I bet the only reason they did was because fans would complain and the powers that be told them to write a quick tribute for him.
I rewatched orginal first few episodes (including HeMan & SheRa meet) and then I watched the first few of this new SheRa. Horrible. And when they introduced "horsey" !!!🖓 Glad the twins are watching this crap for us. Though I can't believe they can put theirselves through such agony & lack of creativity. Hope they give the show a low rating on Netflix!

So the new creators of the new Shera want to make it as though this production is all "I am female hear me raor" .. but it just seems like a lot of bickering hens - stereo type of annoying women. Rip 1980s SheRa you taught us so much instead of this new version that just want to make ppl "dumber". - IMO.
I think it's to add shading to the faces to give them more dimension and depth. But it's the laziest and ugliest form of shading I have ever seen in my sixteen years of life.

Just wanted to say im not watching this show, simply because I can't be bothered to endure it. So im happy i can just catch your vids on the matter and get a breakdown of the good and the bad... mostly the bad. Weird that Castaspella isn't in the show more considering shes the only good aligned mage in the show. Oh well, she's not technically a princess so she gets the bench warmer position i guess.
To be honest, some of the episodes feel like a drag. I don't know what it is, but it feels like it takes forever for them to end. Especially episode 1, I felt the need to skip through some scenes
and yet again Netossa and Spinnerella are treated like background decorations. at this point SCP-3333-j have more character development and I wanted to connect it to Gaia's Blood.
That bit that the end about the She-Rah co-creater not saying anything about the original reminds of how Cressida Cowell the original How to Train Your Dragon author has kept completely quite about the DreamWorks version since her little appearance in the making of HTYD2 video. I saw her and Dean hugging at the Hidden World premiere so I assume she likes the new movie but.....
I think that Frosta is acting so different because she's never really been able to act like a kid because she had to put on this personality as Queen so people didn't look down on her as much but here she's not with her people or anything she's just hanging with the other Princesses and she has the freedom to act like herself rather than being 'Queen', plus she's trying to emulate Glimmer in some way too
Does anyone else feel like there's a lack of people in general in this world ? It feels like there's no citizens, no soldiers, even the politics feel generic. It just feels empty. Like they drew the bare minimum number of people so they wouldn't have to work too hard.
Absolutely. The lack of detail ABSOLUTELY have to do with lack of time, budget, talent, or all of the above. For example, I can explain why that 'green fire tunnel' exist in the last season. It is simply there so Entrapta can be, well, trapped. WHY is the tunnel there in the Horde base? Think about it for one second and you can come up with "It's a disposal tunnel. Refuse from the factories are burnt here." But ofcourse, that would require drawing scraps and garbage. And lots of it. They can't afford the time and money to do that, so empty tunnel. Don't explain. It's there for Entrapta to get trapped. Plot device!
I haven’t watch the show, but from what I read in the comments and reviews, this show is just bland, even TTG managed to pull this off
There's barely any people other than the main characters. There were citizens in earlier episodes, but the maximum would be ten at least. Entrapta has the least citizens and Mermista's abandoned her. The last time we'd see them again was in Castaspella's kingdom. (The _PrInCeSs PrOm uwu_ doesn't count because they were cameos) The horde and bright moon do have soldiers but they don't appear often. The lack of citizens really hinders the show in its so called female leadership message and in a way makes the show lazy. It would be forgivable if the show explain the lack of population, but it's too late. I question why fans of the reboot say it's better when the artists can't make the show alive.

You know I kinda like that interpretation if they stick with it. Here's a child who had been thrusted into the position of head of state, so she act in the way she THINKS an adult should act i.e. stern, authoritative, inflexible, bravado-filled stick-in-the-mud. It would be a great character arc to have her 'defrost' (haha PUN!) and really reveal that insecurity.

According to Tumblr. Males are meant to be abused. Bow is in a emotional abusive relationship.
Here's an idea for a better character development track for Frosta:
Frosta, impressed by Adora and seeing her as a heroine after the events of the finale, begins to idolize her. Because of this, she tries to change herself to be more like Adora, even though it puts her in danger. Glimmer tries to outright tell her that this is wrong and that she's getting the wrong ideas from Adora's example- such as seeing her leaving to train as a sign that heroes should try to confront danger and challenges alone- but it doesn't get through. Eventually, Glimmer comes to Frosta's rescue in her hour of need, and only then does her words get through to Frosta. At that moment, Frosta starts to idolize Glimmer more than Adora and starts trying to take her advice.
This works on a few better levels.
1. Makes sense for Frosta to get starstruck by Adora now that she's seen "She-ra" in action, since it's considered such a big deal.
2. It portrays Glimmer as a rational leader who is willing to care about her followers. She doesn't just worry about Frosta because she's annoying her, but because her actions are risking her health. Leaders teaching and learning from other leaders.
3. This would be a great chance for Glimmer to talk to Frosta about how they both made the wrong decisions before and how they have more to learn. (I.E. There's the prom talk.)
4. It would make Frosta seem less childish. She thinks she's doing what is best to become a successful leader, not realizing that she's not seeing things as they are.
Noelle: “quick! People really hate Glimmer for some reason! We have to change that, any ideas?!”
Writers; “ We could have a special episode dedicated to Glimmer reflecting on her actions and mistakes. Coupled with a type of journey that allows a character to grow completely independent of the rest of the main characters!”
Noelle: “ I know! I’ll just make a stupid parallel for Glimmer and throw Frosta’s character under the bus! I’m so smart~!”
(Seriously though, this and Kyle’s abuse makes me believe that she’s had personal vendettas and just takes them out on this show)

The Larry Ditillo thing reminds me of the end of the Ghostbusters reboot where they haphazardly throw in a statue of Harold Ramis as Egon at the end despite crapping all over the original which was even more disrespectful.

Sorry but I disagree. There are a lot of first time or fairly new creators making pilots and demo reels and they do a much, much better job than the SheRa staff. Even just looking at Calarts or Gobelins publishings makes this show look sad and pathetic.
The only thing that this show has going for it is the concept in my opinion. I am really trying to watch it and give it a chance because I am usually into cartoons of that calibre, but every episode i watch just makes it feel so much worse.
The abuse of Kyle is disgusting.

I like the idea they had with Frosta, she and glimmer could make an interesting combination but they really should have stretched this out over a few episodes. In the first episode, Glimmer could have saved Frosta and her obsession could have grown from seeing someone almost her age that has enough respect to be a general. But yes as is they pretty much threw out her old character and made a new one.

in any show of the 80's or 90's Kyle would either become a villain after some freaky accident or expetiment or have defected by now, heck, even in modern times that is what we expect to happen, just look at Seidou Takizawa from Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul Re, in the original he was an insecure Ghoul Investigator (called Doves in the series) but was upstaged, mocked and underestimated by everyone save for his friends, then he died... except he didn't, he was captured, tortured and turned into a ghoul in Re and hoooo, boy... WHO'S LAUGHING NOW?!!! would be interesting if Kyle was taken by Hordak, experimented on, transformed into some crazy cyborg, or mutant, with the help of Entrapta and sent to fight the Alliance, but, due to his mental state, he attacks the Horde as well, Hordak could manage to stabilize this condition, kinda, he would still have episodes of berserker rage, and after Entrapta went back to the Alliance, because that will happen eventually, Kyle would be gunning for her most and would be dead set on making her deader than dead.
Dunno why he'd turn on Entrapta; she seems to treat people (she personally knows, at least) pretty well, unlike most everybody else.
I’m a psych major and I can tell you from the way the new creative team treated Larry Ditillio’s death says one of two things, either he wasn’t important enough to them or they didn’t have much confidence without him so they just left the fact he passed away to the last minute so they could either get sympathy points for the lack of quality control or push the fact the show might not be as good without him on board. Another option is well... they either felt bad about picking on a dying man or they knew if they didn’t say anything before the premier, people would suspect something was off and try to ask him what happened and then realize that on top of being jerks to Ditillio, they were also malicious monsters for not only picking on a dying man but stealing his work and making it worse for selfish gains and petty spite. One last option, and I hope this is the reason why... they are inept morons who didn’t realize that not saying anything the day Larry died would end up being an immediate black spot on their character in the eyes of the show’s fans and voice actors. So any way you slice it, the new creators have a mess they gotta try and work through.

I didn't like how Frosta's personality changed

Ladies, the fact that Frosta is focused on Glimmer is because as the short, chubby one is the author insertion character, the show is ALL about the Glim-glim.
Wait, what? Entrapta got her stuff from her old kingdom? That means that she either had her people deliver the stuff to the Fright Zone, and those servants did not tell the rebellion, or more likely, the Horde invaded and Entrapta was OK with it. Either way, that's going way too far with making her an uncaring evil villain. Yes, Entrapta is more concerned with tinkering than ruling, but that still feels like a bit stretch for her to go from neglectful ruler to a ruler who basically sold her people out to the Horde. All in all, glad I am not watching this season.
...... OKAY! I am really struggling to see why people like this show.
Say whatever you want about the original series, at least they tried to tell a story. Yeah, the 80's She-Ra was... Well, "typical 80's cartoon fair" but at least it was consistent overall, at least the characters had their own distinct personalities, at least there was effort in crafting a friggin' arc! AT LEAST THERE WAS GENUINE EFFORT!
This series is so focused on diversity that everything else is thrown out the door and MAN does it show!
People probably like the ships, the diversity and the silliness. But i really sad they ignore the problems
Reasons why I personally like the show:
(1. I think the show's strongest point is how it handles it's relationships. Adora and Catra are obviously the main example, as their rivalry paired with their history is very intetesting to watch. Other examples like Glimmer with Bow and her Mother, Mermista with Seahawk, and basically every relationship between Horde characters also stand out to me. Honestly I'd say the show handles exploring personal relationships between characters better than most cartoons.
(2. Catra as a character in general. There's a reason why she's a common favourite amongst both the fandom and the hatedom of the show. She undoubtedly has the clearest and most solid character arc in the show, her relationships with Adora, Shadow Weaver, and to a lesser extent Scorpia and Hordak are really engaging. The fact that she's a villainous character I can sympathise with, who I find myself rooting for while most of her enemis and even allies constantly beat her down reminds me of Prince Zuko from ATLA, which is always a good thing. Overall she's just a really interesting and fun character to watch.
(3. You can have whatever opinion you have on the show's art style and animation (I personally think it's alright), but I find the show's background art to be exceptionally gorgeous.
(4. The music is also quite exceptional. I really like the transformation music and its variations that play during action scenes. Other notable examples include Catra's theme (Suitably cool and intimidating), the song that played the first few times Adora transformed into She-Ra (Really conveys the powerful and mythical nature of the character), and episode 11 was just full of outstanding dramatic music that set the mood really well.
(5. I'm just really hungry for action/adventure cartoons with a focus on the story, which aren't as common these days. I'm happy with anime and more comedic cartoons, but there's this feel to western story driven action/adventure cartoons that's hard to find these days and which this show provides quite serviceably.
(6. Swift Wind and Seahawk. I just find them hilarious and a fun time to watch.
The main problems I have with the show are its issues with inconsistent tone and characterisation (I think Frosta's sudden character shift can be explained by the audience first metting her when she's in an especially important position of responsibility (Both being the princess of her kingdom and hosting a gathering of the other kingdoms) so she'd be acting much more stern and responsible, while in season 2 she's interacting with a group of friends (Which she even says she's never had before) so she's acting much more like an inexperienced 11 year old. However the shift is still quite jarring, and I think the show could have used a bit more time to properly transition it). I also have a problem with the world building. I just can't figure out what locations are supposed to be where, and the distances involved. It's especially problematic in a show like this where plot elements related to the geography like the expansion of the Horde's territory and the search for First One's ruins and technology are very important. Overall the show definately has prominent issues but it's not nearly as bad as some people make it out to be. I wouldn't call the show great, but I think it's pretty good. I'd call it decent at the least.
I see the flaws in this show, and I'm not gonna pretend that there aren't. But I will still love this show.
“Oh course frosta is like glimmer! They are so similar!¡” yes, but not really. I could totally see this working but cramming it into one episode? No. Frosta, unlike glimmer. Was placed on her thrown ate a young age, being forced to grow up fast and have the maturity beyond her years. Like for instance Clem from the walking dead series. She was quite literally forced to be the adult and had to baby sit the actual adults who where too stuck in their own ways to do what was right for the group to survive. Clem had to carry them on her shoulders and on top of that, eventually a baby. You see her grow and mature fast because she didn’t have a choice to be a kid. She didn’t have a choice depend on others. I suppose she did but after season one and two she knew that she couldn’t really fully trust people. She needed to be independent to survive. Even when she was around people her own age, making friends. She still hold her guard and never went out of character. Frosta realistically wouldn’t go out of character. Season one she wanted to be seen as mature and capable to run a kingdom, and she was. And that’s because she stood her guard, like Clem. So it just doesn’t seem realistic for a character like this to do a 180 in one fucking episode.

I honestly thought Frosta would reveal she was intentionally imitating Glimmer, since they focused on her having no friends, and was "trying too hard" to be friendly but came out as obnoxious. Frosta using Glimmer as a role model only for Glimmer to realize how bad she was at the beginning and telling Frosta to just be herself would've been great character development for both of them. ..but nah, let's just make her Glimmer 2.0 so Glimmer 1.0 looks better by comparison.
As for the whole season, this episode in particular was just as bad as the first season, but it actually kinda gets better after this.
You know you REALLY don't care about your show's viewership if you decide to release in the same weekend Avengers: Endgame hit theaters. Perhaps it's to avoid,the negative press?

When it came Larry Ditillo, it’s possible they just used his death just to market the show, since it came out when Endgame came out. They’ve proven that they don’t respect the original, and when they suddenly do it was because people were giving out bad reviews and criticisms. So I wouldn’t be surprised if Larry Ditillo was just a tool to them.
It is good to see improvements, and I guess the Netflix marketing helped the show because Imagine if this season was still season 1, it would seem pretty out of nowhere and would’ve just made most of the season look worse.
I also want to let you two know that this season is said to be mostly about character relationships, which might be why Frosta was suddenly interested in Glimmer. Same thing with other characters.
And lastly, if I heard correctly, season 3 was also supposed to be season 1. Which means this show originally planned on having a 26 episode first season. Just wanted to give you that heads up.

I was greatly disappointed in the hoard's and the princesses inability to do...anything right at all this season. both sides were pitiful. My fav was scorpia. Everyone else missed the mark with me, this coming from someone who enjoyed last season
Honestly, I'm so glad I never got into this show because of the behind-the-scenes shit and seeing the disdain shown for Classic She Ra bugs me--like the Powerpuff Girls reboot, and the Ghostbusters reboot, I'm left asking, *IF YOU HATED THE ORIGINAL SO MUCH, WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO TAKE THE JOB FOR A REBOOT ANYWAY?*
I don't think there's anything wrong with taking a show/episode you don't like and making it better. It just needs to make sense context-wise and character wise.

I knew they they would completely blow over the fact it was Frosta's fault for a lot of what happened, such a bright moon- But she's just a little kid so it's okay, even though, she complains about not being treated like everyone else. Something tells me she wouldn't like be held on trial for allowing the Horde to abduct a Queen's daughter during her party. It also seems Frosta acts a lot like every other character; Like the creator can't actually make complex characters and just uses the annoying little kid trope tribe that pretty much everyone saw coming. Why was she brushing her hair? It makes no sense, it's too short...
Predictably; Glimmer just wanted the title of "Leader" and does nothing to show leadership.
The Princess magic feels like it's just a Deus Ex McGuffin to use when the writers are in a corner.

Wait, this is seriously the only time Netossa and Spinnerella appear in the whole season? Damn, it's worse than I thought. I was already annoyed by how poorly treated by just the first episode, but this makes it even worse.
It's really sad to me that this show that wants to be progressive with LGBT representation makes it that of the six characters who were confirmed as LGBT in season one are Bow's dads who are never seen or mentioned, Sweet Bee and Peekablue who are only mentioned once and never seen, and lastly, Netossa and Spinerella, who are treated like background characters and get less lines than a friggin' horse.
Also, maybe it's just me, but I found that Bow automatically assuming Entrapta's alive due to the robots having First One's tech to be a bit of a leap. Sure, he's right, but it bugged me that this was the conclusion he instantly jumped to and I agree that Frosta seemed wildly out of character here.
Bow's dads do make an appearance in this "season."
Good old Netossa and Spinnerella and their epic off screen powers. All this cause Noel wanted to Voice one of them, so they now live perpetually silent and useless.

Season 2 is not even the second half of season 1, it's episodes 14-20 of the 26 episode first season. This opening, however, does its best to make us think the writers took a long hiatus and forgot who had which personality.
I was willing to accept Season 1 Frosta. In fact, aside from Glimmer, I've been mostly okay with the characters having different personalities from the original (since a lot of reboots do that), but what they did to Frosta shows that they not only lack respect for the original She-Ra and its fans, but also to their own version of She-Ra and their fans. It's like they hate working on this show, and are only getting by thanks to the brand-name and because Stevenson is sort of popular with the Tumblr crowd.
The only positive is that this season premier was so bad my expectations are at zero. It would take talent at being awful to not make the show worse than I expect.

As so many people have called out, the show uses anime tropes to a point where even anime fans have to say 'C'mon, give it a rest.' But as it is, I never had any sort of expectations for 'season 2' since it's just the same as the first and keeps all the highlights that I dislike about this reboot. As for Frosta, there are better ways they could have handled the idea of a child Princess having to force herself into a more mature position while still retaining the mentality of someone her age but they went beyond that and it doesn't come off as another tired 'EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED' shit but them just throwing out a personality type for this character and thinking that it's cute simply because THEY did it in THEIR reboot with THEIR 'unique' versions of these characters. Frosta was already a stupid character, and a boring one, to begin with but her flipping the switch to go from prudish to annoying doesn't make her any better. Like I said, there's a way you can do this type of character to ENDEAR them to the audience but this ain't that. It's just another annoying as hell character to deal with in this trash series.
Also, I wanted to add in the other point that because most of these characters were introduced so late into the series their interactions, as you mentioned, don't come off very well and just feel forced. I can understand them trying to create this idea that Frosta see Glimmer as the big sister type (as horrible as an idea that is because....GLIMMER) but it would have been nice to have an interaction in SEASON 1 where they had the big meet up and battle to show Frosta STARTING to show that type of idolization towards her (Glimmer). There's also this feeling that because everyone is so isolated from each other, you start to question how they even know each other. Again, there's a lot of SAYING going on but it doesn't feel like any of the other Princesses actually know each other even on a more political (as in how their kingdoms are run and function between each other) base, especially when the big conflict in this series is that the Horde lied about the Princesses being the evil ones....so one would think that between that time there would be more curiosity between each kingdom to how they're doing. I know the Princess Alliance split with the death of Glimmer's father or what not but again, there just isn't that much of a connection.
And now that I think about it, it would have been funnier if Frosta kept her authoritative behavior but had that mixed in with the inner childishness she actually has and could possible be confused about (given she goes around all the time pretending to be an adult). Instead of her being HYPER HYPER HYPER, why not have her TRYING to get closer to Glimmer but because of the clash between how she acts and how she THINKS she acts, she comes off messing up some of the things she wants to do which could possible lead to Glimmer having to be the mature one in this bit and telling Frosta that it's fine for her to be a kid and have fun and she can STILL be a leader at the same time. Not only would this allow Frosta to keep the harder part of her but it could open up to her being softer, as well as giving Glimmer something to do and place her in a situation where SHE has to take on an actual mother role for someone else rather than having everyone bend to her will. It would be a growing opportunity for both of these characters....
BUT WE ALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. =\

in a weird way, i kind of liked this season better than season 1, though the flaws in it make me dislike it more than season 1. (like i said, its weird) I think my main issue is how it feels more like DLC to Season 1 rather than a brand new season. It may be because this season is wayyy shorter and seems to be more focused on smaller conflicts rather than an overarching goal like what Season 1 had.
also, Frosta was a character I liked the most in season one, since her conflict and character type seemed the most interesting. Needless to say, i do not like Frosta's new personality -_- If they really wanted to have Frosta be a parallel or foil to Glimmer, than they should have just kept her original stoic character and have conflict erupt from that. At least then. using her to Spur Glimmer's character development would still make sense and be consistent.
Entrapta is a girl who apparently doesn't care about where her scientific curiosity leads her, why not take that to the utmost extreme, have Hordak be tired of Kyle and comtemplate disposing of him, until that other soldier from Adora's old squade pushes him around a little too many times, he snaps, disarms her and is about to kill her until Hordak knocks him out and impressed with his potential for anger decides to experiment with him and hands him to his scientists and Entrapta to combine with the crazy First One's tech, she does it and he becomes a berserker cyborg prone to snap and attack her and any of the other scientists involved and anyone that gets in the way but Hordak stabilises him and he attacks the Alliance instead, but still has instances where he attacks his tormentors but they have a killswitch that stops him (not kill, just incapacitate and help him focus his anger) until they get Entrapta to defect back to the Alliance and Kyle goes berserk, overpowering even the killswitch but focusing his wrath at Entrapta and Bow, for added drama, they could have Bow actually try to form a connection with Kyle and him considering defection before all goes to shit and he is transformed into a horde supersoldier, have Bow recognise him and imediately get firious at Entrapta demanding to know just what the hell she did to him, with Adora and Glimmer jumping to her defense but Bow having none of it and avoiding interacting with Entrapta more than necessary, have that create a real rift between both Bow and The Alliance and Adora and Catra by having Adora finally growing a spine and calling out Catra on Kyle and every other shit the Horde has pulled up until that point and this time so scathing Catra has no comeback, have Bow vowing to restore Kyle's sanity with or without the help of Entrapta and the Alliance, there, conflict, drama and people being called out on their BS but more importantly, consequences.
You're ideas are far more creative and captivating than the writers of the show..
@@lavenderplace8591 The way Kyle is described by the reviews makes me think of Seidou Takizawa from both Tokyo Ghoul series of mangas (don't waste your time with the anime they butchered the second part of Tokyo Ghoul and the entirety of Tokyo Ghoul Re) so, my story was inspired a bit by him, Takizawa was an insecure Ghoul Investigator that was underestimated and never taken seriously by his peers, he is thought to have died after a raid but in truth was captured by ghoul terrorists and tortured, and like the main character, Kaneki, is turned into a half ghoul hybrid, a one eyed ghoul (called that because when using his powers only one of his eyes turn into a ghoul like eye) what is interesting about him is that his viciousness after he is turned into Owl is brought about not only by insanity from being tortured and experimented on by a crazy human scientist sociopath but also by hatred, pure anger at always being seen as lesser, being in his eyes, abandoned by his comrades in arms, left to rot in what can only be described as hell, he became a combination of brutality in combat, mercilessness and is prone to tormenting people psychologically, even when part of his sanity is restored, he admits to Kaneki the man named Seidou Takizawa died in the Aogiri Tree lab, he is just an Owl type ghoul now, that being said he is the only one that survived the process to turn him into a copy of the ghoul nicknamed Owl, wich makes him extremely strong and proves that he was underestimated by his peers, for Kyle's part it would be cool if his personality was like Owl's but toned down, and more personal with Entrapta and Bow, of course Entrapta wouldn't be a sociopath like Kanou, the evil scientist but both Bow and Kyle would consider her actions evil regardless, i'd make a couple of episodes where Bow becomes Kyle's friend and on the day before he defects all goes south, and one episode where Bow and Evil Kyle (or HK-Alpha H for Horde, K for Kyle, codenamed Horde Nekros) have to work togethet and take command after one of Entrapta's inventions is used by Hordak and goes haywire with them having been the only ones capable of shutting it down with Entrapta as mission control, they would succeed, Entrapta would be truly remorseful and apologise to both men, but Kyle wouldn't accept it and Bow would forgive but not forget and still be hurt by all of it vowing to help Kyle, who would retort that while he sees Bow as a friend, he could never forgive Entrapta and can't work with the Alliance as long as she is there, Bow would say he understood but that the horde is no place for a kid that is still good and if he wouldn't consider leaving it, Kyle would have no answer, but when on Horde HQ, or right after he turns to leave the battlefield he would smile, showing that he is considering what Bow said, and no, he wouldn't ever forgive Entrapta, there are things that are broken and can never be fixed
Spoilers, Kyle gets turned into leech, or Mantenna. I hope that isn't the case, but I see no pleasant future for that kid. Sadder that he's voiced by the voice of Pit from kid Icarus.
And yet, for all her gruesome experimentation, Entrapta would _still_ treat Kyle better than anyone else besides his boyfriend.

Something about how you two described the tension between Angella and Castaspella reminded me of the tension between Lin and Suyin Beifong in LoK. Maybe there is a 30 yr grudge to settle?
I noticed that about Frosta too it was sooo annoying. I personally think that it would be a re interesting if Frosta trying to make it up to the Rebellion.

I personally love this show, and thought that season 2 is pretty good. However, Frosta's personality change was completely unnecessary, unexplained, and annoying. I really liked the serious, no-nonsense personality that she had in season one. What I was really hoping for in season two was a more prideful, we-are-allies-but-not-friends sort of thing where she eventually comes out of her shell and warms up to the other princesses. But, instead she became reckless, disrespectful, stupid, childish, and basically an annoying little sister to Glimmer. I might have been okay with that if it was explained, but it wasn't, so it was very upsetting for me. I also think it would have been a better plot if she went from season 1 personality to season 2 personality with an actual transition and journey towards that.
What really bugs me is that the story for this show is soooo bad, there is almost no story and to much fluff. Who ever signed off on the script should be fired. i can get past the weird animations and drawings but without a really good and interesting story its just really a bad show.
I really would like to know if this is really the best the could come up with, because I feel like most the people watching these review videos could come up with a better story.

Kyle situation is Just sad. REALLY sad. I am disapointed that the rebellion didn't rescue him. ( idk how hordak(or Shadow weaver) didn't make kyle vanish. Also Shadow Weaver a very important and powerful person is in prision but Kyle is still out there

Chris McFreely, a very respected part of the transformers fanbase loves this show, and said himself that he's more excited for this than for Endgame. Who am I to judge a man's taste?
If they released the original series on Blu-Ray, there'd be more people getting that, then watching the new show.
I've heard people are bragging that the new She-ra has more seasons then the original, but they won't admit it's just season one diced up to appear to have more seasons.
I did! I had a couple of hours before l went to the cinema to watch Endgame. Season 2 filled them out nicely.
Calling it now, the horde and the alliance will have to unite for one or two eps becausw Entrapta is going to cause a robot apocalypse
I was very underwhelmed and disappointed with the show proper. The creators are clearly now communicating with each other or checking stories before animating them. It's very distracting. Say what you want about Shera Classic, but at least they were able to keep the establish plot going and keep their characters in character.
Once again Glimmer must be the main character instead of Adora. Yay! What's that? Adora's weapon is acting up when it should have happened in the first season instead of the rush job? Nah, let's have it in the 2nd season, which is really still the 1st season.
The set ups for the "plot" are still poor while the actual movement for war is nice and all, but it does feel like there were two writers and they mush things together instead of separating it into 2 episodes.
I don't mind Adora's weapon acting up. I mean she'll look so awesome if she manages to work around that handicap in battle!

Glimmer is more or less Noelle's pet projection so don't be surprised when she gets special treatment.

That is true, glimmer is a self-insert so I really shouldn't be surprised when more episodes focus on her after the catra-centric ones.
I like she-ra(the reboot): the character designs are pretty cool and the voice acting is good, BUT. I can’t deny that at times the writing does feel inconsistent and in this case concerning Frosta she was SUPER inconsistent with her character from season one with no explanation which kinda confused me.
I get the feeling they made Frosta a kid because they saw Lyanna Mormont (played by Bella Ramsay) in Game of Thrones Season 6 and thought: "We gotta have a girl character just like that! Can we get Bella Ramsay to voice her too? No! Ok, we'll still base Frosta off of her character."
Not seeing season 2 of she-ra and going to see Endgame instead? I don't think anyone can blame you for that!
They have no respect for the original show, so why would they show any respect to the original creator. I bet the only reason they did was because fans would complain and the powers that be told them to write a quick tribute for him.
The new creators have so little respect for the original, they can't even respect their own source material. Lol

The more I hear of this show, the more trash it sounds...
I rewatched orginal first few episodes (including HeMan & SheRa meet) and then I watched the first few of this new SheRa. Horrible. And when they introduced "horsey" !!!🖓
Glad the twins are watching this crap for us. Though I can't believe they can put theirselves through such agony & lack of creativity. Hope they give the show a low rating on Netflix!

So the new creators of the new Shera want to make it as though this production is all "I am female hear me raor" .. but it just seems like a lot of bickering hens - stereo type of annoying women.
And I'm a chick so yeah that is my perspective. Original Shera was elegant, strong & athletic,
smart & wise. Rip 1980s SheRa you taught us so much instead of this new version that just want to make ppl "dumber". - IMO.

I think it's to add shading to the faces to give them more dimension and depth. But it's the laziest and ugliest form of shading I have ever seen in my sixteen years of life.
It's an earmark of a tumblr artist, which Noelle is. Seriously, look up the tumblr art style, you'll see that blush mark everywhere. There are a number of UA-cam videos that address it.
Frosta goes from some kind of Lyanna Mormont of a kid's show to an annoying second Glimmer in seconds. LOL!
15:07 This image proves to me that these artists don't know what they're doing. It looks like Bow is standing on a flat chalk drawing on the street. No depth, no proper shading, just odd looking... Bow's shadow is slightly behind him, while the bot's is slightly in front...so where's the light coming from?
Officially, DiTillio died of Parkinson's. Personally, he saw that in spite of all his hard work people care more about sensationalist hype than clever writing, so he just decided to fall asleep and never wake up. And now his pain has ended.
Just wanted to say im not watching this show, simply because I can't be bothered to endure it. So im happy i can just catch your vids on the matter and get a breakdown of the good and the bad... mostly the bad. Weird that Castaspella isn't in the show more considering shes the only good aligned mage in the show. Oh well, she's not technically a princess so she gets the bench warmer position i guess.
To be honest, some of the episodes feel like a drag. I don't know what it is, but it feels like it takes forever for them to end. Especially episode 1, I felt the need to skip through some scenes
Maybe having the Horde sitting on the couch was meant to be a reference to Mystery Science Theatre 3000

and yet again Netossa and Spinnerella are treated like background decorations. at this point SCP-3333-j have more character development and I wanted to connect it to Gaia's Blood.

I'm quite enjoying this series of reviews, though I will confess I'm watching them out of order
I think that Frosta is acting so different because she's never really been able to act like a kid because she had to put on this personality as Queen so people didn't look down on her as much but here she's not with her people or anything she's just hanging with the other Princesses and she has the freedom to act like herself rather than being 'Queen', plus she's trying to emulate Glimmer in some way too
I personally think they should made it clear like the girls Said Someone could say "wow frosta is so diferent when she is not ruling her kingdom"
