Growed beans all my life! Canned hundreds of jars! We eat a lot od beans ! I grew up on white half runners! Got lots of customers that like yhem too! We sell lots od pole blue lake neans! Rattle snake too, boy they make a lot of beans! I found Volunteer half runner beans from University of Tennessee. Going to give them a try! Mama never would let us pick beans when the dew was on them! She said that caused them to get rust on them the next picking! She learned that from my great grandma! I never have rust! I may try Green Blaze this time Ill ask my husband to order me some! My Hossenator tomatoes are really growing!

Beans are my go to plant in my garden. I plant the Royal Burgundy bush bean because I get large harvests with them. In 2021 I had an over abundance of green beans and put up 98 pints and I am almost through them.

We added a little nitrogen fertilizer on our green beans before they started to bloom, only once and the increase in yields was amazing. The advice came from MI Gardener.

I started growing bush green beans about two years ago. I will never not plant them in my garden! I can get a round early spring, early summer, and one in fall. They are soooo good! My favorites are the French fillet type. I’m trying pole beans in my new beds this year too. I have two 20’ beds with cattle panel trellis and my hope is that the beans will grow over the trellis and shade my tomatoes and peppers. I’m in 9a and yep…it gots HOT quick!

Y'all ain't had good beans until you get those yellow wax beans. We mix them half and half with our bush beans when we cook them. They're extra good with bacon, onions, salt, pepper and butter too. I can eat my weight in them. I remember being a kid and having to do grocery bags full of beans. Then we'd blanch them and freeze them or can them in Mason Jars.

Bush beans are great, but my back doesn't like them😢. We really enjoy Dragons tongue and the contender bean is prolific and grows well in hot weather. Shade cloth can also extend the season. We cook most of ours fresh. Green beans and bacon. Green beans with potatoes and onions..

In South central Texas, I have lots of leaf damage. Something was eating the leaves off our tomato, pepper, and green beans plants. I saw a grasshopper this morning.
What's good to deter the grasshoppers?

What's a good stringless string bean vs dry beans? Are all pole beans intended to be shelled and used as dry beans? Are all bush beans (fava beans) intended to be picked while green and used as string beans? Gets confusing.

Could be a fungus or Blossom End Rot. Remove the damaged fruit. Be careful with inconsistent watering, soil pH that's too high or too low, disturbed roots, or lack of calcium in the soil.
