Ahahahaa! Glad to see I'm not the only one that has nightmares with 'easy' jobs! Lucky you've got a bug spoiler to hide all of the new scratches on the pipes from the install! 😂
All those shots of you sipping beer felt like a Prodigy music video!! (You know the one!!)👍🤣👌I’ll remember that beer next time I’m back home in Brandenburg👌
Two things i have learned about TLR from this video. He understands proper application of thread locker. A bolt is not a donut, it doesn't need to be coated until it's dripping. Second, he has the patience of a saint. SW Motech would have been liberally cursed throughout any video i did for that stupid bottom bracket design. It does look good, though!
Looks better than I thought when it was sitting on the bench graphics will make it pop.Not sure I want to cover up that AR pie cut titanium on mine.🏍👍🍻
Got mine 2 weeks ago, since I live in Canada had wait over month. This bike, is so damn comfortable, fast as f**k, hold on! As far as vibration it's not bad especially if you got it around 4500 rpm smooth. You'll enjoy it! Just put a Austin V3 200 mm without the DB-KILLER, sounds mean. Not so loud if you got below 4K rpm.
I like the idea of a belly pan for the 1290. I've been looking around for one for mine but have to admit unfortunately I'm not quite keen on that one with it being metal and the shape. Nice "how to" vid through.
This one doesn't weigh much as it is aluminium. Once the new exhaust is on then everything should level out weight wise, but tbh with all that power you wouldn't notice any added weight😜
@@thelikeablerider8800 For me i think it's more a case of i'd expect to see something like that on an adventure bike. With It's design and material used. I think maybe plastic or carbon and less off road looking would look better. I'm not saying it looks out of place it's just not something that immediately floats my boat so to speak.
Hi Shaun, i was stationed in Munster near Saltau back in the 80's so not to far from you now. Great place to live. Do you prefer Swmotech over other brands because i see you've fitted crash bars from them.
More bling to make it your own Shaun. Do you know how much extra weight all these bits have added ? Cracking video and yet again you have some patience
Brilliant video buddy, looks great too. Definitely moe than two beers when working on the bike it’s the law, that’s what I tell the wife any way hahaha 👌👌
@TheLikeableRider is it really called a 'Bugspoiler'? Wouldn't 'Headerprotector' or maybe even 'belly pan' at a push have been more appropriate? I do quite like how SW Motech seem to like creating 'jigsaws' for you and AMC to assemble for our amusement before you get to fit them to the bike though! It all looks quality, but for the price they should be doing all that pre-assembly work in my opinion. For all that it does look a whole heap better.
Yes that's the official name of it, and agreed it's a strange one! I like a challenge😜 I suppose because the bolts need thread locker, and needs to be lose for easy fitting, then pre assembling them wouldn't work. I do like a jigsaw✌😜
@@thelikeablerider8800 Good point about the Threadlock! I hadn't thought of that. Sometimes I wonder how bikes didn't fall in bits before we had heard of 'Threadlock and torque wrenches...
Hi Pal Love the super duke , looking at trading my 15 Duke in for the 2020 model , just wondering what mileage are getting to a tank , as is only a 16 litre , keep up the good work, and make sure the fridge is always stocked 👍
She's pretty good on fuel now! I get from 280-300km to a tank of juice. Last week she averaged 5.1 litres to every 100km. My GT averaged 6.5 litres to every 100km.
I rode mine pretty hard got 240 kilometers. Was always into inline 4s last 30 years, purchased this cause of the comfort. I does vibrate a bit, compare to the other 1290R it's smooth, except for 6 th gear for some reason.
@HarryTheHurstDefinitely, it vibrates under 140km/h at 6th...getting to know my 2021 model which I got brand new few weeks back...in love with this beast!
What would you do if a great company like SWMOTECH approached you, said you make great videos, would you like to test our products, would you turn them down in our position, I dought that very much!! I'm incredibly proud that so many companies have approached me as they like what I do.
Crikey I thought my GS took some sorting to my taste, has to be done though, well done on the fiddly install, graphics will make the job ! Just a heads up on my previous issues with Go pro and power bank, perseverance has paid off and quite happy now, you may be interested in an item to help using your GoPro in adverse weather, look at 3brpowersports.com Downside is shipping from US is quite expensive, not purchased any myself, yet, Cheers and ride safe, Derek
@@thelikeablerider8800 , further info, the company who manufacture the Gopro waterproof gear are in the process of setting up a UK based dealer, no further info as yet, I have asked , will let you know more when I do.
I'll still have the issue of waterproofing the mic adaptor which is also attached to my helmet, yes the camera is then waterproof with this system, but still not quite perfect for us vloggers! Unfortunately we're still not catered for from gopro, the market for us is probably too small.

love that you have beer at your Garage!! Cheers

You can't go wrong with beer from Bavaria, although some can knock ya hat off✌🍻
Because it’s so important to keep bugs off the header......
Of course👍
Patience of a Saint. Looks good mate.
Once again your patience has to be admired 😤🤬🍻🏆

Excellent vid 👌

Good job on the fiddly bits!
Great beer review 🍻😜

Very amusing Shaun, but the Bugspoiler looks great, nice job 👍😉😊

Almost a skidplate but for those pipes. Rated 2 beers! Cheers!

Get yourself an ABBA skylift mate. Proper lower back saver 👍
I definitely need some sort of lift
TheLikeableRider speak to ABBA I reckon you could wangle one for the good of the Chanel ( & your back) 🤪🤣
Yes sick of sitting on milk cartons for over 30 years. There's another lift from Germany I think got 3 legs so you can move bike very easy.

Just a metal polish and good bit of that elbow grease, nothing special👍😜

It look very industrial .they could have made it from a strong plastic .i wont be getting one to hard to even mind that.great video thanks.
Its made of aluminium so is very light. Thanks for you comment
Looks great, but definately one of those jobs that needs at least three hands... BTW: I have to buy my own beer...
