A video on the top 10 or 25 most iconic sound clips in games would be great. Like the alert sound in Metal Gear Solid on ps1 and the shotgun sound in the original doom.
One of the craziest in-game moments that caught me off-guard was when Mordin Solus randomly breaks into song, singing "Scientist Salarian" in Mass Effect 2. Equally amusing is the awkward pause between him and Shepherd immediately after.
I think the Elex2 moment with Billy Idol was kind of an homage to the first "Gothic" game of the developers. There they had In Extremo playing one of their hits.
As someone who has only played the remake of ff7, when you said honeybee inn I had that dance sequence in my head and was gonna agree. Then the bodybuilders showed up. I wasn't prepared for that. Hilarious.
Dance sequence? That sounds foul and out of place. As someone who LOVED the original FF7 enough to play it every day WITHOUT a memory card "dance sequence" just convinced me to NEVER play the remake. Thank you truly
The game was great the whole way through, but Wall Market made it even better. Love how they reworked the bodybuilder mini-game and pretty much everything lese. The dancing game was absolute fire, couldn't get enough of it.
That's why I love Kojima. I don't really care what point he's trying to make. I just want to live in his surreal, weird worlds. Like Mario and Princess Peach.
The entire Persona franchise could be on this list. Also, Eileen's giant wall-sized head inside the hospital in Silent Hill 4:The Room. It might be the most bonkers thing in the franchise. This list should get a sequel.
I have to mention Gabriel in Radiata Stories. It was just awkward and completely unexpected. Also when you have to fight Radian a 2D child's drawing of a dragon, which is actually one of the harder boss fights of the game.
The Matrix Path of Neo. You are fighting vampires at the Merovingian's Chateau and then, you are faced with three doors with different challenges, one of which is a weird dimension with pieces of the Chateau themed... rooms? Platforms? floating in space... but that's not even the weirdest part. While you're playing this weird maze of floating platforms, you are also fighting big humanoid ants that can only be killed with fire.
@@smashbrandiscootch719 Not sure, I was just exploring around and found the room and then went looking for the tapes. It might have been part of a pre order or something.
The Point of the concert: back in the day the Devs Piranha Bytes (Elex) made an awesome RPG called Gothic. The setting was a giant magic prison with 3 factions to join. One faction had a concert running, and yeah they had drugs and hookers. Gothic 1 and 2 are just RPG masterpieces
What makes the castle in Yakuza even better is that your experiencing all of this. When you almost died the scene before. Yet kiryu magically has the strength to take on both tigers 😂😂😂😂
Shadow Hearts was the first JRPG I ever played by Mistake . My mom got it for me and at first I hated it. Replayed it and was so glad I did the final boss was the first Over the Top boss I ever faught. Always wanted to play covenant.
Honeybee Inn makes perfect sense in the context of the underplate sector's seedy market area, but gets made more tame to be played for laughs. It's the equivalent to a red light district. Sengoku HQ is basically Sengoku period castle defenses. Hidden passageways via revolving walls, samurai, exotic animals as trained attack pets that reference the head of the family ("Tora" means tiger, and the founder and head of the family is Toranosuke); doesn't make no sense if you're aware of the cultural context. The castle-within-a-castle on the other hand? Yeah, I'll give that to you, Falcon. Sengoku was portrayed as being someone who throws money around to show off, so it fits in that context, but the sheer scale of that is still boggling. Good list otherwise, but the Shadow Hearts series could easily fill this list on its own, hahaha.
One of the weirdest moments in my gaming time was playing True Crime Streets of LA. Most of the game was a perfectly normal kinda gta clone I'd guess you call it. Then there's a boss fight in the sewers with 3 giant flying demon heads.
If a Billy Idol concert is weird then the Blind Guardian concert in Sacred 2 is even weirder. Even better, the band members are in the game and gives you optional side quests were you are tasked with retrieving a few of the bands instruments or instrument part or the microphone for the singer from "hardcore Blind Guardian fans" and once you're done with them all you get treated to a concert in-game with a song that they, the band, have written specifically for the game. It's awesome.
I haven't played Saga Frontier, but from the description provided I'm suspecting that there's a translation error at play. Because recreating or reenacting something to draw out a demon or monster into the physical realm is a pretty common trope in Japanese ghost stories.
In a series as wacky and also serious as Yakuza, you really do need to stand out and that bit does it because it's part of the main story, not a side quest. However, I think the disconnect between the stories and side missions is most apparent in the spin off, 'Judgement'. You have a serious private investigator with a troubled past dealing with a serious and in some ways quite believable story suddenly finding himself chasing a blokes wig around the city...
The Billy Idol concert thing reminded me of Blind Guardian’s appearance in Sacred 2 The related quest were you were tasked with finding the band’s instruments first made it even better
I remember people complaining about the dance scene in 7 Remake & it's like which would you really rather have? A dance scene or the hot tub scene, cause I rather have the dance scene
I am so happy you mentioned Shadow Hearts: Covenant. That game isn't even underrated, it is practically unknown. I'm surprised you didn't bring up the section where you have to explore a whole section as the wolf, Blanca. That felt really weird, as up until that point and the rest of the game after, you explored as human characters.
SH Covenant! OH MY that’s a blast from the past … that game really struck me for how it’s smashed together history… I kinda liked it but by the end of the game it was hard to know what was going on! 😅

I have played 2 suda51 games in my life, lollipop chainsaw and shadows of the damned, and apparently they're generally viewed as the "normal" suda51 games, which makes me curious and also completely terrified to play any others.
First game that really made me question my sanity was probably Drakengard, back in 2004 (when it released here anyway). Predecessor to Nier, and definitely no holds barred with the weirdness! The baby ending still kinda creeps me out, and that was 18 years ago.
Twilight princess is undoubtedly the best traditional feeling zelda, while breath of the wild is the best non-traditional. Almost no other zelda game even comes close to these top runners
I saw Kojima at the start of the video and thought he was going to dominate the list! I guess he would be king of the "10 Unexpected Moments That Only Made Sense if you Crave Exposition" list.
@@donavancampbell6658 Calling me lazy, even if it might be true, doesn't change the fact that the storyline is basically non-existent. Pieced together is fine but, this much? The only reason storylines exist in this game (as awesome as it otherwise may be) is because of channels and fan-fics filling in the cavernous gaps, each with their own interpretations, all of which can make equal sense, again, due to a nearly non-existent stoyline hinted at, maybe, in item descriptions. Cool, Radahn learned gravity magic because he so loved his comically undersized horse.

Twilight princess, similar to majoras mask was pretty dark and creepy. However unlike majoras mask, twilight princess was a good game and not a rushed asset flip from ocarina
How about a whole skateboarding level in MGS2? Apparently updated MGS2:Substance for PS2 has a bonus level that was meant to be a kind of promo for skateboarding game Konami was making.
In the Twilight Princess manga they clarified that cutscene more. Link is somewhat related to the twilight realm because he's from a village that disappeared to there. They insinuate a lot that he has a darker side he's fighting against as a result. The manga came out years after the game though and I doubt most people will have read it.

The Eileen head literally made me "wtf" out loud, and then there's all the weird audio of Eileen moaning in the background.
I was walking my little nephew through Twilight Princess, and he was so freaked out by that cutscene that he couldn’t go on for a couple years.
