No matter how you pronounce ”Dauzat St. Marie” [though dō'-zaht sānt muh-ree’ would be accurate], the name has certainly been circulating far and wide these past several years through heavyweight touring with heavyweight artists. These two hardcore troubadours have been busy touring all over the U.S. as main support for Grammy® Award winning heartthrob Rick Springfield’s “Stripped Down” solo acoustic show series for the past four years and have peppered in dates with The Marshall Tucker Band, Lindsay Ell, Schuyler Fisk / Sissy Spacek, and Rick Derringer in between. Congratulations old friends, I love this song. I still listen to CDs from bands that crossed my stages. Better then radio stations. My play list has all genre even though I like progressive more folks are missing out I'm 60 now, and I still turn it up ✌️😎👍 . Sad how the program of learning is just that. I remember how I discovered you and it was on UA-cam Common Ground and what made me listen was the amazing picture from the video and I played it. I can't tell you how fantastic, powerful and amazing that song and video presentation was to me. I called all of my musician friends and told them to check you out. A guitar play-through is on our to-do list for sure. In interim, it would help you to know that the tuning is DADGAD and it is capo’d on the first fret. Good luck! Hopefully we can get the play-through video done soon. We should probably do that for all songs while we’re at it, huh?

Each song happens differently. Some start with a guitar riff or progression, then vocal melody, then lyrics (this is most typical)... some start with a lyric idea and then music comes after.... some are a vocal melody that inspires the music.... some songs even come to us all at once (this is kinda rare).

Unfortunately, touring brought in 95% of our music income, so this pandemic has been devastating financially. However, it has NOT broken our spirit and desire to keep the creative output going! We’ll get through this and will hit the road again as soon as it is safe to. Until then, we’ll continue to release singles and video and try to enjoy a little break from the road while we can. Hope you are doing well in all this craziness.

Common Ground was the first song I heard from Dauzat Saint Marie on UA-cam and in one listen I loved it but the thing I didn't realize back then was you both put that whole atmospheric and magical set t ogether which I think is incredible.
