We have no record of our Lord Jesus revealing to us directly the canon of what we would call the Old Testament/Covenant; He led His Church by His Spirit to recognize the books of Holy Scripture. Jesus did affirm the deuterocanonicals through His Church whom He gave the keys and authority to bind and loose. People who study the NT know that most quotes of the OT in the new come from the LXX, which had a larger canon. All of the Apostolic Churches accept the seven deuterocanonical books. Also, while some OT lists found in the patristic material are of the 22 Hebrew canon, many fathers believed in the 46-book OT, and this is the canon recognized by local councils and ultimately dogmatized. When our Lord Jesus Christ ascended, He left His Apostles and Church. This is the pillar and buttress of Truth, and the Spirit of Truth has led the Church into all Truth. There is one, holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus, and she has received the Canon of 46 books.
