Just incase you're wondering, the blue top was originally an Indian, Pakistani men's kameez! I would've never imagined them as such a pretty diy! Brb raiding my dads closet
Ok using elastic to take in something that’s too big is honestly smart and looks doable. Especially that first one with the back detail. Might have to try.
Been seeing a lot of these big fluffy shoulders/sleeves at my favourite stores to window shop, so here's how you can do it yourself on a budget :) and reuse clothes! Check the description if you missed my other Reformation/Urban Outfitters/big sleeve tutorials :) sending you lots of love!! (see 17:53 💖)
Hi Wendy, I have a question, after you sew two parallel stitches to gather the fabric, want did you do with the ends of the thread? Did you Just cut them off? Or did you tie them?
My ex asked me why I was constantly putting my hands in the pockets of my new dress and I replied; 'Well I can never do that, It feels nice.' Just never put your hands in your pockets when walking down the stairs, that's dangerous.
You're such an inspiration. I basically don't buy new clothes anymore and am totally obsessed with thrifting and making things exactly how I want them!
Don’t be afraid of moving forward. The future is bright.Good luck and tons of best wishes. God bless you in whatever you do. This is my heartiest wish just for you.
im never gonna be able to follow these tutorials...but they’re still so much fun to watch and i love to see how excited you are wearing the finished products!!! the tops look so fab in this one! :-)
Wow thank you!! This is super nice to hear because there's always a spot in the middle of the project where I stop and just have no idea whether or not it's gonna work out
this was SO inspiring for me! i have a sewing machine that i haven't used since elementary school and i'm 20 years old now. this really made me want to take it back out and learn how to sew all over again!!
YOU INSPIRE ME SO MUCH & your love for everything frill, buff shoulder, structure etc are what I'm always looking for in my fashion! cannot wait to try to pull some of this off myself
When gathering, mark the center before doing double row of stitching to make it center and identical. Using a ruler or rotary cutter and ironing as you go helps, too.
Wow! Both final results turned out to look super fancy, they look expensive. Nobody would think these are thrift flip products. I love all your videos Wendy! :)
okayyyy WOW I can't wait to make this one. I have an old cheetah print / fake Versace silk blouse that will be perfect for crazy 80s supermodel at a party vibes
Your blue shirt transformation has saved me from pulling my hair out. I have a men’s shirt long enough to be a dress and I was going to add flutter sleeves from a blouse. Been putting it off because I’ve never hemmed sheer fabric in a curve. I’m going to do your layered look instead. TY!
Got to save this video for a future thrift flip. I really like trying to do the puff sleeve. This is what kind of content I was looking for. So I am subscribing to your channel. Thanks for sharing and blessing to you in the days to come.
You're so very talented and inspiring! I can sew but I've never used a pattern and my mom has a ton of vintage patterns so we've been spending the most wonderful time together sewing! I love finding inspiration from your channel for ideas! Huggies from Niagara Falls, New York!
A really cool project! Would be cool to have a matching scrunchie with the blue top. Like making one that matches the ruffles or is big. Could be a cool way to dress down the top imho.
The white blouse was plain in the video. But, on the title screen for the video, the white blouse has blue embroidery added to the sides. I really liked that a lot!
Ok but the white blouse looks like something you’d see on like Idk a Prada runway or something, it’s so chic And the blue one looks so idk 70s/80s, it’s definitely something the 2020/2021 fashion trends would love
Just incase you're wondering, the blue top was originally an Indian, Pakistani men's kameez! I would've never imagined them as such a pretty diy!

LOL I wanna see the “wait isn’t that my kameez” reaction!
I think it's such an elegant piece of clothing for men to wear, I've always admired it.
We call it a “Kurto” or “Kurti” where I’m from but I was just about to say that lol!! (Edit kurto is for men and kurti is for woman!)
Its called panjabi here in Bangladesh.
I need to do the first one so i can fight impressionist painters 👊🏼😅
don't take any of em seriously unless they got statement shoulders!
I'm going to fight the Harlequin Romance dudes lol
Wendy: "I look like I am auditioning for Aladdin..."
Me, breaking out in song: "I CAN SEW YOU THE WOOOORLD!!"
Me finishing the song: Cut the shoulders and him it¬
Ok using elastic to take in something that’s too big is honestly smart and looks doable. Especially that first one with the back detail. Might have to try.
thequeenn00b yes! My favorite is a couple inches of elastic in the back of jeans to cinch in the waist. So simple and looks great 🙏🏻

Hi Wendy,
I have a question, after you sew two parallel stitches to gather the fabric, want did you do with the ends of the thread? Did you Just cut them off? Or did you tie them?
I loved the original white shirt but it turned out very cute.
Hahaha indeed it is stressful when I let myself get attached to the original thrifted item 😅😅
I’ve never been much of a puff sleeve fan but these are BEAUTIFUL! I definitely want to recreate
selam getu me neither but I think because they’re not as exaggerated as they usually are lol xx
@@foxxybrown291 Definitely! This is such a modern, minimal take and I'm in love
I don't even have a sewing machine-but these tutorials are always so much fun to watch! I love how you can give new life to these pieces! ♡
Lol - girl, look at u now! ❤
Lol so sad when we females get excited about pockets being on our clothes 😂😂😂
My ex asked me why I was constantly putting my hands in the pockets of my new dress and I replied; 'Well I can never do that, It feels nice.'
Just never put your hands in your pockets when walking down the stairs, that's dangerous.
Just shows how low the bar is for functionality
You're such an inspiration. I basically don't buy new clothes anymore and am totally obsessed with thrifting and making things exactly how I want them!
The blue top is SOOOOO BEAUTIFUL 😫❤️
Love that blue top!! Gives me major Solange vibes
I take that has a very high compliment :O
“Im going to add some puff sleeves to it”
*Anne Shirley has entered the chat*
Yessssssss those books are so good
LOL. Pioneer woman chic! I guess there was a very romantic Victorian streak in 80's fashion.
Yes! Anne with an E wished to have a puffed sleeve dress like those of Diana's.
I always give up on sewing projects half way but this gives me motivation:)
Great video. I love the blue top. Your voice over always make me laugh. Your sense of humor is awesome!
Don’t be afraid of moving forward. The future is bright.Good luck and tons of best wishes. God bless you in whatever you do. This is my heartiest wish just for you.

Never been this early!! Btw your thrift flips are absolutely my favourite, they're always so creative!!
Wow thank you!! This is super nice to hear because there's always a spot in the middle of the project where I stop and just have no idea whether or not it's gonna work out
WOW! This is just what I need to prevent further thrift abuses by my hand
They both turned out so cute! I love the sleeves on the blue top
OMG! They're so unique I haven't seen anything like it that i want one for myself!
So so excited - my friend just announced her birthday theme is 80s prom, with just enough time for me to maybe make something for it.
i’m obsessed with the first one!!!! thank you so much for making this tutorial
Love your poise and your clear and soothng voice.
Your first top gave me major "Purple Rain" vibes.
this was SO inspiring for me! i have a sewing machine that i haven't used since elementary school and i'm 20 years old now. this really made me want to take it back out and learn how to sew all over again!!

When gathering, mark the center before doing double row of stitching to make it center and identical. Using a ruler or rotary cutter and ironing as you go helps, too.

So creative, from a 80’s gal! God Bless!
i love the first crop/puffy top!
That Blue. And those petal flounces. Muah!
TY!
I probably won’t do this exactly but I’ll definitely be using this information on other things!
I love both of them! But now I really want to make the diamond darts like in the first shirt!
Hello, that was absolutely amazing. Really well done. Keep safe and be lucky 💞💞💞
I'm in love with the blue one!!!! I HAVE to try it out this on my new sheer fabric tha I bought few time ago! Thank you, Wendy!
The blue one OMG soooooo beautiful I need to make it!!!!!!!!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍
The blue shirt is typical eastern wear of south asia like Pakistan, India and here it's called Kameez. The flip came out amazing as usual 🌻
Thanks for explaining! I already couldn’t decide between kaftan and tunic 😂
in love with thrift flips videos right now !
Got to save this video for a future thrift flip. I really like trying to do the puff sleeve. This is what kind of content I was looking for. So I am subscribing to your channel. Thanks for sharing and blessing to you in the days to come.

I love your designs. Always so classy! 💖
Lol I just realized how smart it is to stay stitch before cutting out the neckline
You are so talented! Sewing is hard but you have mastered it
that blue top turned out AMAZING! summer is coming up here, i might just have to have a cheeky thrift and find something to make this with!
So inspired by your tutorials that I actually bought a skirt that I will try to convert into a large trouser ! Wish me luck 😂
You're so very talented and inspiring! I can sew but I've never used a pattern and my mom has a ton of vintage patterns so we've been spending the most wonderful time together sewing! I love finding inspiration from your channel for ideas! Huggies from Niagara Falls, New York!
Oh my god I LOVED THE SHIRT!!!! And then you said there was a second? Ah!
A really cool project! Would be cool to have a matching scrunchie with the blue top. Like making one that matches the ruffles or is big. Could be a cool way to dress down the top imho.
I am so motivated yet intimidated to try this project. But I love me a puff sleeve.

Both shirts are so cute! You're awesome, Wendy!
the faux shirring is cool :O
Much faster too!
Was just gonna say Wendy must've not been down to hand-wind that bobbin again 😂😂
Lolol I’d do it again but I used up all the elastic thread last time and that pushed me to also try and show a new idea!
I LOVE IT!!! A little more the first one.
wendy, every single one of your videos is amazing
Ok but the white blouse looks like something you’d see on like Idk a Prada runway or something, it’s so chic

Hi! Love watching your sewing diy videos.
The blue shirt reminds me of Snow White. So cute!
This is not meant to be mean, but your voice is so calming it literally puts me asleep and I love watching your videos before a nap.
The long sleeve flapping queen is back!
These are both so cute!! I’d love to see a video of your shoe collection, they’re always so cute 💛
I'm actually so in love with this so if you ever feel the need to get rid of the white button-up I'm your gal.
