Everyone's projects this year should be called "Project Pan-demic." The struggle between wanting to meet all your panning goals vs hating wearing makeup when you have nowhere to go b/c of the pandemic.

Lauren haha seeing her profess makes me NOT want to commit to using a blush palette. My progress is always so slow in comparison. If it takes her a whole year, it would take me 7 🤣
Hearing you talk about lockdown to me is so crazy because where I am cases keep rising but people have been doing whatever they want for months. I’m glad to here that Australia is at least doing the bare minimum to keep you safe!

I'm in Latvia where life is just about normal right now, except with distancing(ish), hand sanitizer and the occasional temperature check. Hearing from different youtubers and my own friends what goes on in their countries /cities is like listening to a book plot. The saddest part is that this won't just go away when 2020 ends. Especially since some people just can't listen to the rules for other's sakes. Panning-wise, I did get through a ton of samples in March-June when I was studying online. Other than that this year has been me being an ingredient detective and trying to find all the products that cause me to break out. 😭

I’ve been wearing a lot more makeup since the pandemic. Because there’s a lot more time. And it’s ok to not be super careful with the application because ppl can’t tell in video conferences lol.
Covid destroyed my project pan dreams so I really appreciate your encouraging words!! Any progress is still progress. I did realize I'm almost done my project pan primer! So yay for that 😭❤️
I put eyeshadow on yesterday and I was so proud of myself! I nearly put lipstick on too, then I realised that I'd probably look better if I didn't have it smeared across my face because my mask moved a bit. I got out of the makeup habit completely when I spent nearly 5 months at home, only going out to walk the dog or buy food. I started using base and cheek products again pretty quickly, but eyeshadow has taken longer to get back into, for some reason.
Your progress with your tarte blush palette and the huuuuuge Mecca bronzer you had in your project this year has been astounding. I just picked up the Marc Jacobs Omega Bronzer that has 25g and I'm very intimidated. You're doing great with your project pan and I enjoy this series from you and Hailey so much.
I always forget that Australia and other parts of the world are going through opposite seasons. Like it's starting to get colder here. You said I might use it for the warmer weather and I was like wha-OOOOHHHH! Duh!

I am so impressed with your progress Kat! I am quite lazy with my makeup except for lipstick, blush and eyeliners but like a lot of other people I have not even been using those this year. I have the same Tarte blush palette. Really need to start using those up.
My sister and her husband are in Melton and therefore sharing your lock down. My BIL's facebook posts showed he was experiencing some major cabin fever. I rang sister and asked how he was. Sister said he's made a good improvement, mentally. You could hear the smile as she said that her hubby has taken to cleaning daily, to rent inspection quality. .. daily.
Urrgghhh it’s all sssooo haaarrrddd at the moment, being in Melbourne. 😫 You’ve done well given the circumstances. I panned the same Clarins lip oil last quarter, it’s a doable one. I have taken all make up out of my project because I haven’t worn any and a skincare item that made me inexplicably angry every time I looked at it - I don’t like it, I have tried to incorporate it another way for 6 months and haven’t so I have tossed it. Not worth the hassle if you really hate a product. Travel products, sample sachets, lip balms and... wait for it... winter scented candles. 🤷🏻♀️ Had several with about 1/4 left so they’re now on my list. Only 5 more weeks of lockdown to go. 😭🤞🏻
I have been working through the pandemic as an essential / retail worker. I used to do a whole face, now with masks - I still get to wear eyebrows, eye shadow, mascara, and translucent face powder to control oil on t zone. I just repurchased Doll 10 Hydra gel lipsticks to wear after work at home. The formula works to soothe my lips, wearing masks for 8 hours a day is really messing up my lips. I love my days off now I can play with full face of makeup, I'm trying to pan colors I don't use in public, finding some interesting combos.

You've honestly made such good progress. I own that tarte blush/highlighter palette and it took me over 2 years to use up the shade extraordinary completely. I would LOVE to make your progress on mine.
I've been working on panning a bronzer all year (it had a baby pan at the time) and it's still not done 😂 to be fair, im a teacher and wore makeup maybe once a week all summer
Kat, how in the world do you keep your Rimmel Powder Lid from cracking?!?!?! Your lid still looks pristine!! The lids on mine crack within about a week of opening! 🥴
Fair question 😝 If I have it in a handbag or makeup bag it can crack, but I generally keep my makeup in a drawer so it doesn’t move around much and doesn’t break 😊
Considering the lockdown, you have used quite a bit of stuff. I hope this month your restrictions will be lifted. Here in Athens, we just had harsher measures imposed. I want to repress my powder too, cause it’s getting hard to use it. The product is only on the ring and it’s quite hard to pick up. Other than that, I finished a Smashbox primer water and a face moisturizer. I also wanna repress my Benefit palette, cause some shades are sealing more every time I use them. Much love. I also finished one of the NARS mini lip chunky pencils. I laughed when you mentioned the curl enhancing smoothie. I have very thick, black, curly hair and this product is heaven for me. I would probably use the sachet in one go. 😀😀
I’m trying to use up the same NARS lip balm. A bit slower for me, it seems to just sit on my lips and isn’t as emollient as I would like. But it’s starting to get an off-waxy smell and taste so I need to finish it soon. Won’t be buying it again though.
I'm still going to work so I still use everything except coloured lip products. I don't have the will power to do a proper project pan I get bored with things and grab something else oddly in defiance of myself 😂 I did finish a concealer and hit pan on my CT flawless whatever it's called pressed powder the other day (then accidentally gouged it with my fingernail) and I've almost finished the highlighter in my hourglass holiday palette thing. Living in regional vic we were released from lockdown yesterday and I slept all day having worked Wednesday night but fingers crossed metro gets released soon...I work in metro melb and it's eerie creepy when I go outside for a break at night 😳
I am using ALL the makeup this year. But I think that's only because I am working from home for the foreseeable future and I am as busy, if not busier, than I was this time last year (or last few years, really). Makeup is my way of telling my brain to turn on, focus, and work. And I am traveling for work (which is bizarre and honestly scary) so I use a lot of travel size stuff both at home and on work trips. HOWEVER, on the weekend, I am tempted to skip ALL of it, including skincare and SPF, and often just end up with a primer over my SPF and some lipstick. Also, I don't have children, so that 45 minutes of playing while drinking coffee and watching youtube is my creative sanity time. Part of me wonders if when I return to my office, I'm going to become the queen of one-shadow looks and no makeup makeup, and slash my skincare in half. But since I live in one of the states with the 5 highest infection rates, I'm thinking next year is when my project pan monitoring will be more necessary, because my office isn't reopening anytime soon.
I've been using the same maybelline fit me loose powder since early 2018 😂 it lasts so long bc I barely powder my face, just my undereyes and nose. It's too dark for me in the winter so I have to make the progress I can now 😅
All I've been using is lip balm, perfume and eyelash serum. No makeup at all. I have left my home twice to see the doctor since February. My immune system is very weak. So, no going anywhere or in person visits. I wish the US was as strict as Australia. I heard on a news cast that Australia has the strictest Pandemic regulations as well. It's a damn free for all here. Even with almost 200,000 gone people just aren't taking things seriously. It sucks.
I’ve been wearing my Charlotte til hey film star bronze and glow bronzer every day since January 1 and still haven’t hit pan! What??? I mean, I love it and I don’t want it gone. But I can’t believe it. Should be coming very soon! But I’ve been thinking that every morning for about three months.
I have been self quarantine since March 15th (about 185 days 😔) and when I got out the last thing on my mind is make up, especially because I immediately take a shower after I get back. So I have been doing my makeup just to stay at home whenever I feel like it, which means I’m using very little stuff. The only things I’m able to finish is hair and skincare
Im panning the same color wheel from tarte. I wear makeup even if im home. I dont care. I bought my makeup to use it and enjoy it. It dosent really matter if no one sees me. If Im home, I wear things I dont "love" but want to empty out so at least I make some progress somewhere ❤
I'm the same, I used to wear makeup everyday despite lockdown, it was my way to make me feel ready for the day... but things have drastically changed since having a baby. I now just don't have the time to wear makeup everyday, so my lack of makeup use isn't exactly pandemic related :P

While I am not jealous of your lockdown situation, I am envious that your government is taking this virus seriously. I live in California and the management and adherence to the rules is dismal. Cases are out of control. I don’t understand how so many people think this thing isn’t real and/or do whatever they want without thinking about ramifications. Anyway...I’m tired of watching my communities suffer.
Hang in there, you have the double whammy of a baby and the changes that brings as well as pandemic. I talk to my Melbourne friends and yes, and they are like! are you out of your home without an excuse? more than 5 k from home? are you at a cafe? the other states are ticking along with less than 5 new infections a day and have been doing so for months, you guys will achieve the goal, get your grand finales back and get out there and enjoy your wonderful cafe scene and arts scene. It will come back and it will be great.
I am sure the intensity of your lockdown has been very difficult. And my county has fairly strict measures. But my state has NO measures, and well, you've seen what our President is like (no words. Actually, all the words), so to me, that kind of intense proactive, protective government seems like what reality should be, instead of the dystopian nightmare over here. I find myself watching my favorite Aussie channels, especially you, Hailey, and Beauty News, more obsessively for this reasons (and because I really like your opinions on makeup formulas and releases, obviously). We will pan things. Just maybe not the things we expected to pan.
i like your nails ( ◜‿◝ )♡ this year is weird, i'm forcing myself to use at least sometimes parfumes and lipsticks. everytime i go out , which is not often, i'm wearing full face of makeup or at least fancy eye makeup... just for fun, and also because i'm sad not to use it up, and it will expire in a while...

I would definitely do that if the shade wasn't too orange for me haha. Thats why I need to mix it with the bb cream to make a good shade match :P

I draw them on. In that video I explain how I liked my moles but I didn’t like how raised they are. The removal worked perfectly 😊
