Another fantastically edited video mate, really enjoyed seeing a game in this format again. I always love an underdog and even though i'm a chaos player, the grey knights hold a soft spot in my heart and taking a compendium team against a bespoke team is always a tough task, so I was rooting for you the whole time! Truly a brutal result by the end of the game, can't wait until the next one.
Cheers buddy! I was actually surpised recently went to a tournament and GK finished 2nd and then I looked at a few other results and saw that they actually do pretty well - but centainly not the load out i went for here - need to make another standard GK so i can drop the gunner. Thanks for watching bud :)
@@GFNGaming That’s really good to hear. I’ll have to add Grey Knights to the list… currently working on a couple of new teams already but the boys of titan will definitely have to get done at some point.
Great video, once again! Always really enjoy the battle reports. The “strategic reflection” I always find particularly useful because, as I’m still learning the ropes of more complicated teams, it’s good to have the choices a player has in a turn explained.
Thank man, I'm hoping to get some different players on the channel and perhaps get them to explain moves etc - not sure how'd id work it at the moment but would certainly like to. give a full picture
I use the Shrivetalon to disrupt my enemies game, use the scout dash to get him as close to an objective then move up and drop his mark. Your opponent can't remove it and now if he wants to loot it costs 2ap and has to have 2 bodies to control it. Shrivetalon loves getting charged, he's easily my favorite unit in the legionary team.
This is a genuinely inspirational format for Battle Reports. Fun, informative and also showing your human too! I can appreciate this content and hitting that subscribe button!
@GFN Gaming awww fella thanks for watching that means a lot! Yes I'm glad GW managed to deliver to my FLGS albeit late... And now it sits in my pile of shame.
I recently played this matchup, the mission was secure archeotech. In thath game both factions took the security archetype. Similar choices in both teams, except instead of an anointed, my opponent took the guy with the axe. also, legionnaries were both Tzeentch and Khorne. The result was an 11 to 9 for a GK victory. the key of the engagement was just one: THE VANTAGE POINT IN THE LEGIONARIES DZ IS JUST TOO MUCH TO OVERCOME. I run falchions on everyone, except for a warrior whom took a hammer, just because we wanted him and the guy with the axe to clash...they didn't. In the end, it was this guy, and his hammer, who took out the final legionarie and his plasma, to control the objective the GK needed to tie the game... Incidentally, we realize, that controling this point also granted them the second point of one of the GK security tac ops, the one that requires you to control a piece of terrain with the heavy trait; thus getting to 11.
I love that you picked operatives because you wanted an axe Vs hammer show down! Would've been epic! Thanks for sharing buddy always interesting reading how different match ups play out
Hey, first Ben posting, now you - hard to hate Mondays when fav content creators are giving us goodies! Also, finally someone playing Legionary team in best (Nurgle) way! As always, great report, love how clean and crisp it is. Last question - dark mechanicus "not phobos" play, when?
#KillTeamMondays! yeah i do agree, nurglegionaries are a great team. I'd not thought about when i'd use them - maybe soon? - the next narrative game is phobos but sadly not the dark mech
Love the bat rep. So for the tac ploy of only in death does duty end. You pop it and you still get to attack as normal on your activation correct all the way through to the next turn correct?
So you pop it when a ready operative is killed so they can't have gone already - you don't remove them from the board as per the wording so if you died in combat you're coming back in combat. you aren't injured but as you are technically incapcitated you can't fight in combat as you fight until one model is 'incapacitated' which that model would already be, also this model is only around until the end of your next activation so if you pop the strat you need to be using that model otherwise they go after your next activation anyway. so in summary - can only be used on a ready model, they don't leave the board so stay where they were (which might be in engagement range) they can't fight in combat ( so you're probably disengaging and firing) and they are removed after your next activation (from playing the tac op) ... i think thats it :D
I m new in kill team, never saw before grey Knights in action so i ask why you could take 6 of them ? I thought every space marine squad was 5. What i miss?
@@GFNGaming ouh so,, Your kill team can take 1 additional WARRIOR operative" Mean you can bring 6 buddy on field ? I thought it mean you can swap for example your gunner to warrior
I don’t recall the Legionary team paying for hateful assault in the strategy phase of turn 2, so how did the Annointed attack twice? The deck was stacked against the Grey Knights.
This chivalrous pigeon appreciates a solid batrep, well done! Power creep? Those GK’s had a hard matchup. Is it me or should Plasma not allow re-rolls on 1. High risk high reward?
Love seeing some matched play battle reps. What do you think you’ll do for the next one? Also both these teams look awesome. Great job on the conversions
Cheers man, not too sure - quite fancy giving the new phobos a try - got a bunch of teams close to completion including kommandos that ive just never used so maybe i'll finish one of them.
Unfortunately expected result, the psylencer didn't help ofc but to kill space Marines, plasma is generally needed or really strong melee... . Fantastic editing as always though! On a completely unrelated note... Seeing as you like some oddball rules and spectacle on occasion, can I interest you in (redemptor) dreadnought home brew rules? Could be used as a boss battle for a marine team. (in place of 3 marines, power wise)
Ooooh do like the redemptor dreadnought - sure man Russ#7596 is me on discord if you want to send over the rules ... this does mean i have to finish painting my redemptor though :D
Cheers man, its the tartarus termies legs - then GK termie bodies and strike squad backpack and bits although the arms are just whatever marine arms i had mainly used primaris scale ones
Cheers man, yeah was a tough one for sure - i've seen them do pretty well in tournaments - really need to get rid of the Gunner though really not a good choice for them
Well gone on another class batrep bud. You should start gaining some serious traction soon in the community. You are recommended to my group of wargamers, hoping others do the same as for what you do you're in a league of your own.
Ah cheers Joseph really appreciate that man - hey fingers crossed like everything goes back into the channel like so more growth would mean i could do more :D
Oh man that was BRUTAL for the grey knights! What a tough matchup for Grey Knights, like besides melee, you basically can’t kill the legionaries. Great fun, man. Had a good few laughs 😂 we need plague bearer merch! I’m
Yeah was a rough one like. I mean, plague bearer merch is on the list - have you seen those unicorn hoodies? with the horns on top of the hoods? i;m thinking that but in a horrible green
I don’t know if I kill team? I don’t like how everyone moves instead of taking turns. Idk maybe because I’m still new but this seem to fast and hectic, I guess I prefer the slow thousand point games as a newcomer.
Im personally a fan of the alternating activations, theres something nice about a plan coming together for sure, but alt act makes poor deployment choices etc etc less punishing gives opponents chances to counter and generally (IMO) makes for a better experience for both players. honestly feels like bighammer might go that way sooner or later.
100% would not advise taking a heavy gunner either - such a waste - storm bolter is just 100% better even without taking into account the melee weapon lost due to taking one. need to make a few more of these scale GK ive got a few normal one but they look odd in a team of kitbashes :D
No, they're kitbashes - its Tartarus Termie legs, then GK termie bodies with the GK backpacks and a mix of arms. I don't mind the normal strike squad but always preferred them a bit chonkier
How were you able to give legionaries disgustingly resilient? It's not in their rules anywhere that I can see. And no equivalent "feel no pain" under any other name either.
Huge props for this CRISP editing! Makes Kill Team super slick and engaging.
Not to mention understandable. As a still Learning player, I appreciate the amount of info they show that other channels would usually gloss over
Thanks Jackson! :)

I m new in kill team, never saw before grey Knights in action so i ask why you could take 6 of them ? I thought every space marine squad was 5. What i miss?
They got an additional operative in an FAQ a while back, I think most of not all space marine teams got an extra body 👍
@@GFNGaming ouh so,, Your kill team can take 1 additional WARRIOR operative" Mean you can bring 6 buddy on field ? I thought it mean you can swap for example your gunner to warrior
Hey great video, i really enjoyed it! I don´t understand, how you get so much save re-rolls!?
I don’t recall the Legionary team paying for hateful assault in the strategy phase of turn 2, so how did the Annointed attack twice?
The deck was stacked against the Grey Knights.
Unleashed anointed can Always fight twice for free
It was like! Plus horrendous draw on tac ops. If you unleash daemon with the annointed he gets to attack twice per activation
Ah, thanks. I’d forgotten about that.
This chivalrous pigeon appreciates a solid batrep, well done! Power creep? Those GK’s had a hard matchup. Is it me or should Plasma not allow re-rolls on 1. High risk high reward?
That'd be an interesting change no re-rolls - guard would have to think twice! Im personally all for it :D
I actually play this roll.
Cracking video, I really enjoyed the tactics section even if it didn't quite go to plan.
Wow amazing work! Thanks for this!

i hope that one of the expansions this kill team season is Grey Knights vs Daemons. I would be good to get bespoke teams with both factions
i think when they do release them it is together in a boxset - its such a perfect match up would be great to see it

please.....for me... the grief is still too near *cries in elven*
