    I rode one of these when I was about 14 years old. Had just went from a little drz125 dirtbjke and it took me a whopping 10 seconds to realize what true power was. Ever since, I was hooked. Hitting 5th gear on a built ds650 is still the fastest thing I've ever ridden, bar none. Now I'm 27, trying to find one of these old beast to get that feeling again. Glad to see there still alive.

      Just pulled a 2000 model out of the woods of Kentucky got the lights to come on yesterday and the starter was bad so I’m getting close to getting to rip one of these beasts!

    Fastest baddest most powerful production quad ever built for purchase in the public for its day. This thing whooped the old Raptor 660s when they came out and the 400exs lol

    Just picked one of these beasts up, my first real quad! Recently bought a trike and a little gio with a 200cc honde engine, so this is a big step up. The guy that sold me the DS650 didn't tell me that it had an issue of shutting down after the engine warmed up though. So I ended up buying a new cdi and a couple of ignition coils for it. Hopefully they solve the problem for me. I've been itching to ride, but I have to wait a few more weeks for the parts to arrive.

      Did you get it running?

    • @johngloom9235
      @johngloom9235 2 роки тому

      @@unclejacksoutdoors728 unfortunately not yet. Seems the problem went deeper than I had thought. Had to pull the engine apart and change the valve shims on the intake side. Now I am just waiting on getting a new set of shims to put in. There was no gap at all, which was probably a lot of the battle. Hard for the engine to run without air

    Hey plz post more of the ds650 I need some advice on rebuilding you seem to know what your doing and I want in own your secrets lol do another video on it I’m sure a lot of other people would like to know as well there’s not much info about them like you would think there is, but info it’s hard to come by thanks and love the videos I’m trying to fix mine so I can start a UA-cam on this channel but If you have any parts I could buy an where did you get your parts? I have two ds650s one yellow one like yours and the black one the both say 2000 on the frame they’re made a month apart, and they also both say 2001 under the seat so I’m guessing it’s a 2000 model. I paid $200 for one and $400 for the other one but I traded a old thunder kart for it so I paid around $800 basically for the yellow one they both dropped a valve but imma fix when I find a head for mine. My buddy has the 2004 ds650 Baja mine looks like the Baja just yellow I added the fog lights and all the good parts like that to make it look more awesome than it already is.

    could you recommend a site on where to buy the parts to rebuild the motor on one of these? did you stick to stock bore/stroke and crank?

    • @unclejacksoutdoors728
      @unclejacksoutdoors728  5 місяців тому

      Ebay. All day. Never cracked open the motor. Smokes a little, and the valve clearances are tight.
