I think the reason why Swing hasn't popped off as well as expected is because it's already based on Ball's dual mode, just that you can do it with 2 player mode enabled. It's got a niche reason to exist for most demons
No, id say it's more because hard swing sections are super annoying. It is near impossible to tell which direction you're going, which means without memorizing clicks spam sections can be luck based.
I like to imagine it's like the ball and the ship combined into one gamemode... and people will get used to it eventually. We've been used to the same seven gamemodes for around seven years, it'll take some time to get used to the new one.

RobTop says he's planning to release 2.21 in 6 months, and to release updates at a faster rate. We're more likely to get 2.3 in early or late 2024 / 2025 than late 3079. At that point, we'd just have something like 10.0 for the past 900 something years at this rate of updates. Oh well. (I know it's a joke, don't r/woooosh me, for anyone replying.)
I think the problem with 2.2 rn is really just the slope physics. I really, really hope that rob either fixes them or at least has 2.1 and older levels run on a legacy mode
As a veteran platformer I am definitely switching my demon hunting to platformer levels. It is quite shocking to think I can beat something like "I Wanna Be The Guy" while I struggle to beat a regular GD Hard Demon (still haven't) or in some cases Easy Demons or Medium Demons. I have yet to beat HeLL by Serponge, and that isn't even considered a Hard Demon by RobTop apparently. You could make the argument that the community isn't used to regular platformer levels, and I get that. I also get that I will milk the heck out of them orbs and moons while they catch on >:D

2:46 Just no. Item Edit allows you to make basically any math equation like ever, which is essential for games with complicated algorithms and shit. You can make a funcitoning AI with it. gradient trigger is purely visual.

i will say this in my opinion, robtop should update the game in long intervals. he should update the game when innovation is losing in the future. Not only will it prevent people from leaving due to the overwhelming of new functions but also keep ideas fresh.

I really love the new auto build system. It makes decorations so easy and allows for really misschievous acts.
