Aw so much fun to review this 😍 what a deadly build! Defo gotta make some changes with summons though. They need buffing. Maybe getting them back on a short rest
The system divinity original sin system had me hooked. Making a skeleton Necromancer Martial healing himself by throwing shields at people was so much fun
I do think classes serve a foundational purpose in any rpg because limitation leads to innovation and being limited also means having a defined role making entry into a game as simple as possible for a new person i think setting up defined classes for new players and letting them learn and pick from the skill tree after their base level would actually make this super approachable while having the make your own build option always be available
@@TheUglyGoblin I'm genuinely glad to give feedback I'm annoyed with current D&D. There's no powerful attacks for martial classes while wizards and warlocks and sorcerers have a basic attack with attack cantrips martial they also have spells that do ridiculous damage compared to anything a martial class can ever hope to put out without making a min max build and there's no special attack options that are equalivant to spells. I think you system can be a solution that provides the option to build characters that are fun to play can do awesome things and doesn't require insane min maxing to build something that will consistently keep up with the rest of your party. I've thought that the solution was to give Ki to every martial class and have monks being the ones who can make the most use of it while the other classes just use it to empower their attacks since Ki is more of a physical energy while magic is an energy of the mind. I think your system solves a lot and could actually be turned into it's own RPG system with its own theme and sense of character and not just a D&D hot fix. If you did eventually want to go this route making a couple core classes or job roles distinct from D&D while also showing off the strengths of your system would be a great way to get people into your system.
I once asked Sly Flourish (Lazy DM) in one of his videos if he was gonna switch over to 5e24. His response was something along the lines of, "Which update of 5e?" And he goes on to say that there are so many variants, forks, and improvements to 5e that there's way too much quality content out there to consider switching to the new edition immediately. And seeing stuff like DC20 and your classless system hammers that point home. TL;DR this is amazing stuff and I want to try this out with MC at some point.
I haven't playtested your classless system just yet but it is 100% very interesting, I usually prioritize a character idea and the flavor more than a mechanically strong build. You can imagine how limiting stuff like D&D can feel, my favorite PC ever was something like fantasy-lovecraftian Samus (Armorer + Great Old One Warlock) but was very awkward mechanically and stat-wise. I do remember you mentioning you wanted to turn this into its own TTRPG eventually so might I suggest that you could make "perk groups". Whenever you have a perk unlocked that leads into a perk group you can then invest points in any of the perks inside the group. Once you have unlocked any of the perks inside the group you can then invest any perk that connects to it. The logic behind this is that sometimes it just makes sense the some features would be unlocked by the same stuff and would unlock the same stuff too but would not make sense to merge them. Also it could help you easily expand on the perk tree without messing with the progression all that much, instead of making a new perk tree every time you add something you could just make the perk and say it belongs to certain perk group
Goblin, you are my favorite DnD creator. You actually inspired me to create a new system for my weeb players, integrating devil fruits, haki, breathing techniques and cursed techniques into my game(including you heavenly restriction table)
You shouldve asked about the names! My name is pronounced like "nah-kee" and Glathein is like Glad without the d and thane "gla-thane" Great video! these builds are amazing and its funny to see that three of them used summon, but they all used them differently! There's still so much of the skill tree that needs to be showcased and we haven't even seen any of the ultimate abilities. Maybe we should build some higher level builds to see what those are like
Hahaha I totally should have xD aaah oh well xD Aw and thank you so much! Yeah it's honeslty While how many things you can make with this! And is so cool to see how creative you all get with it 😍😍
Only thing i fear is running out of options you want for your build at later levels, and having to either take just hp for a bunch of levels or take features that doesnt fit the character, i love the system tho
This is D&D mixed with Divinity original sin and I love it. I know I've said it before but I'd definitely want to make a summoner. I love classes systems more than having to be locked into a build.
Made a character some time ago and finally got myself to report on how quite broken it can be (up to you whether it requires changes to the system, it's just white room thought experiment of mine...): 1st level (viable): 2 Level-up Points into mana, 1 LP into shape change and 2 into spell broken now the character can transform few times by itself and if they have anyone who can cast a spell on themselves they have infinite mana supply and can thus use Shape Change unlimited number of times. 2nd level (self sustaining): 1 LP into mana drain the rest into Shape change powering us up and making it that as long as we can attack anything we have unlimited mana and thus features benefiting from it. 3rd level ("Unlimited (shape change) power!"): 5 LP into Shape Change maximising our shape-changing powers (which are unlimited in use) Most likely the strongest further progression after achieving this early game unlimited power? MAGIC!: Max out spell broken for additional transformation synergies, get cantrip to cast onto yourself possibly gaining intifite mana with spell broken?, get all the cool caster things, from summonable weapons and additional elemental damage to all the mana, spells (possibly all gained for free through spell broken feature) and mage ultimates (forgot the name) (if you wanted to be unstoppable picking the red one, if you wanted to be the team player picking the green one, buffing allies and maximising the healing from your mana which you just a reminder have unlimited amount of)... Yeah... You broke the game and became it's new true God... Damn do I love the systems like these 😃🥰😇
Hahaha that sounds like a looot of fun xD and sounds like you had fun yourself which makes me super happy xD I have indeed noticed how crazy wildshapes can get so have been considering changing the cost to 2 mana and 2 stamina per change or something akin to that but other than that- love this build xD and thank you for the comment too and taking the time to write all this :3
I want to say something like "If you don't have issues with classes, then you must have issues with somethin else", just because I have character concepts being defined by rules bases and character sheets instead of the other way around. ... as you well know. The skilltree is good. Needs more reviews, tho
I want to do do a full defense built (with no way of dealing damage, just defense and protection) but I don't know what to do to make it not boring, and there is already a healer in the party. Do you guys have any advice or idea ?
@TheUglyGoblin your opinion is valid. But I don't necessarily think every group can handle the guardrails being removed. It was just a simple way to kind of agree and disagree I guess without being rude.
I'm so happy to see you now have a whole community that lets your creativity flourish. Hope one day I will be able to have whole book of your rules on my shelf.
Thank you The Ugly Goblin for reviewing my build and many others. It was a pleasure making it and I can't wait to use it!

Aw you would Kill it ;3
Thank you so much for liking the build ❤
Problem is it will most probably annoy the table by making your turns last forever
@@alexandredeberdt4066 They probably do so much in unison that you could sum them up as all taking one turn at the same time pretty easily

@shifusdad vulnerable to haki damage, and cold damage. Haki increases physical power, but exhausts you from overuse
