That intro was hilarious and also a nice dig at those who believe you can review a toy without removing it from the package. With that said, I must now welcome you the "Openers Club", an exclusive gathering of individuals who get to experience the joy of recreating memories from childhood. Membership comes at a price. There will be those who will label you a monster for destroying (their words, not mine) a piece of history and some might go as far to say that you only open toys for shock value. To those people, I say go eff yourself and I'm pretty sure that you, Tony will join me in that sentiment.
100% mate. Glad to be a member of the openers club!
That was too awesome, Dean, and meant a lot to me seeing Tony open that amazing toy up. Thanks for your generosity to Tony and thanks Tony for sharing 💯
@@RayBelmont1 You're welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Wow great donation Dean!
I bought quite a few sealed, vintage Kiss and Alice Cooper LPs over the last few years and ended up opening them. These items were intended to be enjoyed.
Haha love it, what fun. There is something so exciting and special about opening a fresh toy.
This was great, a toy doing exactly what it was made to do... be opened, constructed and enjoyed, via play and admiration. Ignore rediculous rules, in the end we dont take toys with us, and sometimes touch is all we have to connect with the past.
@Your Nightmares Come True how great is that! It is a small world and sometimes I wonder about universal links, karma etc... this is more food for thought!
One of my fav V.E.N.O.M. Toys!!!
Such a beautiful toy and a wonderfully generous gift from Dean @All Tings 80s. Loved that opening 🤣 and so glad you set Vanessa & the Manta free from the box. Your M.A.S.K. collection is really starting to fill out. 😎🚗🏎🏍🚁
Hahaha, great intro mate. Love this video. Again, such a great gift Dean. Good call on opening it and enjoying that experience first hand. And you open that box with so much respect. Whats not to like here. Excellent video mate.
I had only 3 MASK toys, the Raven, Boulder Hill, and the Manta. The Manta is one of the simplest yet impressive toys in the MASK line.
to be fair, that was 3 great toys in the line
Probably one of the few toys where you have to actually untighten screws, rather than having to tighten them out of the box, or apply floorwax out of the box to tighten joints ;)
Thanks for posting this unboxing. So cool to see a nearly 35 year old toy in mint condition still quite capable giving so much much joy. Toys are meant to be played with and enjoyed in whatever way a person finds that enjoyment. I'll always applaud anyone who embodies that spirit.
Just listening to the sound of the toy coming out of the box sent shivers down my spine. Packaging was the best back then, even though there were pictures on the box it was like discovering something new when you opened it :)
It was so awesome watching this video! I have this toy (got it as a child in '87). It is one of my all time favorites from my collection! Very happy to see you get to experience it!
Glad you enjoyed it!
A time capsule not touched in over 30 years 👍
A bunch of unsold toys/merch found in a warehouse? Haven’t heard neat sounding news like that in a while.
For me, if a vintage toy is boxed then it doesn’t really matter if you open or not. The box is still gonna be there (unless you tear it open like crazy), so it’s value is still practically there for the most part. So good move you made there, Tony.
That thing is stunningly gorgeous those warehouse toys were really frozen in time . Also nice intro mate
Anyone who cried that you opened an MISB toy should thank you for protecting their toy’s resale value.
Very cool video
I Had so many of these growing up and loved every one of them. I agree, toys are meant to be played with. If I bought any of these I’d open them for nothing else to go back in time to experience the joy of these toys. Love this channel!!
You've got my three favorites lined up already: Rhino, Hurricane and Thunderhawk! MASK was great toy line that came about at the very tail end of my childhood. I had several of the vehicles and Boulder Hill but years later sold them for whatever forgotten and foolish reason. Life is finite thing folks. Open your toys and enjoy them!
Dude this is awesome. Two weeks ago I was organising a load of boxes in the back of my studio that came from a lockup with the majority of my childhood stuff in. I found my Manta. The wings no longer lock back in place and the passenger seat is missing… but it’s the manta I had so many adventures with!
Lovely vehicle and great memories brought back. I dont think you needed to tell in'box collectors you were going to open the package, its 'your toy' you do whatever you want with it! 👍🤘🤜
love the stab to folks who do a review of just a box / carded figure!
A toy in a video. I was hoping for a live reading of a wiki page, showing the actual toy is revolutionary! 😄
Awesome, good on you Tony for opening that box, it actually gave me a nostalgic feeling of being at a mates birthday party and watching him opening his presents. So can we expect some more M.A.S.K reviews now?
Yes, more MASK reviews to come
The purpose of a toy is to be played with. Don't deny them their purpose.
M.A.S.K. toys were durable and well built. My mom keeps mine in a storage locker somewhere. I have this toy and a few others including Miles' oil tanker truck, which is my favorite.it is a massive toy and quite heavy too.
So much fun seeing a mint example of a fantastic toy being finally freed. Thanks for sharing the unboxing and for allowing this toy to finally fulfill its destiny. 😎👍✌
Pro tip for applying stickers. I collect Lego mostly these days and those orange brick separators are fantastic for applying stickers. You can use the flat side to hold the sticker and line it up without handling the sticker too much. I use them all my sticker applying now.
"A face without wrinkles, is a book without words!"
That's what I tell myself in order to sleep at night anyway! 😉😂
The same rule applies to toys! 👍🇬🇧
I like to open mine too, for the most part. I like to display my toys. I never got to collect MASK toys in 80s. I was into GI Joe and MOTU. This is awesome that you got this vintage mint toy! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing this experience, toys are meant to be touched, played with, and admired; otherwise it's just a nice looking box with something inside. Thank you for freeing it from its prison, and yes I really do see unopened toys as being in prison. I also appreciated how respectful you were of that box, just because I wanted to see the toy released doesn't mean that I wanted to see such a great box damaged. Great addition to your collection.
Sweet toy. I was 17/18 when this hit the market. Never got into them. Wish we’d have had them around 80’ or so…
Best Sealed In Box Review Ever!!🤣😂
Seriously though Tony, thanks you for sharing this phenomenal gift from the AMAZING Dean over at All Things 80’s! I could almost smell the cardboard and plastic as you pulled everything out of the box. FANTASTIC SHARE!!🍻
I was hoping you open it and find out it's empty and just hear you swear in Australian for 13 minutes.
But seriously that was amazing your buddy Dean sent you this one as a gift.
Yessir! By all means open your toys. They're made to be opened and played with. Not left in a box collecting dust
I had a mask poster on my bedroom wall, right next to a Stallone Cobra movie poster, which looking back wasnt really suitable for an 8 year old. But hey it was the 80s man :)
I have watched Deans channel and seeing vintage carded SW figures being opened is extremely nostalgic. This video gave me the same feels as well Tony....ohh and I loved the intro haha!
Incredible piece! Thanks for sharing!
Growing up, I was the GIJoe kid. My neighbor was the MASK kid. So I was able to play with this but it was his and not mine :)
Can't believe what I've just witnessed an unprovoked attack on some defenseless sticky tape from the 80s absolutely brutal! 😂
There was a huge stock of MASK discovered in a storage unit. Love this line
That warehouse would make a great movie idea for Toy Story! LOL
After 35 years of being frozen in carbonate, the MASK team is awakened. “Hey guys Billy has a TV thing” Netflix pops on…”Oh they have a She Ra show”….after 15 mins everyone shouts “where the heck are we?!!?!”
Thank you for sharing the moment Tony! It brings back so many memories. Watching you figuring out things for the first time... I went trough the same back in the summer of 87' Congratulations!
Wow what a great experience for you and for us your viewers thanks man🤘🤘
A good old friend of mine owned this one, he still got it up until the early 2000's (and very much complete, not a single missing piece), not sure if it is still around.
Thank you for this, it was a very nice toy. Still have a few but not this one.
This video brings back memories of what it was like when I got a new Mask and unpacked it!
I loved the M.A.S.K. Toys, they were the last toys I collected for a long time until the Spawn figures were released. I had the Thunderhawk, Switchblade, Condor, Rhino, Jackhammer, and The Gator. I loved to have had them all, they are cool toys, I’m happy you got the Manta, it’s looks cool.
What an excellent toy and wonderful experience to see it new again. I was a lucky enough little bugger to have it as a kid (and still do) and had the calendar taped to my wall 😊
I think you should have used a cotton pad soaked in dishwasher soap and water to wipe down the parts before applying the stickers. The car has spent THIRTY years in a box! Plastic from that era sometimes oozes a tiny bit of grease. That's is why so many vintage toys from that era have stickers curling or falling off.
I feel like a kid again opening up a brand new old toy , the memories !
What an amazing toy. They really don't make toys like this today. My favorite was always the the Gator Jeep with Dusty Hayes, but this one is just fantastic.
Dean has a fantastic channel snd great content, Tony thanks for sharing opening this with us. You opening brings back fantastic memories of getting mask toys when i was young.
Best 80's theme tune ever!
i loved MASK. keep hoping it makes a comeback. and yes! open it up. toys are meant to be played with
Not a fan of opening things that have spent decades in their sealed state but as you said, there’s lots of them still sealed, it’s your item, and at least you filmed it so others can experience it just as we did as kids.
First that opening, I Loved it! Lmfao!!
I only had two mask toys as a child, the Condor bike /copter and the Switchblade.
I managed to find a Swithblade about 15 years ago still in its box and I opened it up and played with it, without hesitation . Turned out it was the second run where the Miles Mayhem has a hole in his mask.
Not fair! I want one lol.
I only had Hurricane and Raven as a kid, the Manta and Condor were my favorites that I never had. Looks amazing and I could feel “8year old me” opening that too.
Oh man this is awesome, M.A.S.K. was my favourite toy line as a kid and I had a lot of them. I need to buy one myself to open. Its great fun opening these old toys and I don't get the hate on that.
as close to travelling back in time as we can get great toy great video
Wow Tony, that is so vintage Wizard!
Its crazy how many channels I watch only to find they are all connected in some way.
Awesome video Tony. Theres a great custom box maker on Ebay who makes up repro boxes for those out there who just want to collect a box.
Ooh... My favourite vehicle and character!
Apologies to anyone who does like to keep them sealed, that’s perfectly fine, and that’s your collection. For me I don’t see anything wrong with opening it. If it was me, I’d open it. I think it’s quite sad when I see toys in opened and sealed, they’ve never been opened and played with, and it’s that fact which makes it quite sad. I’d rather have a toy that’s been loved and played with over a box that’s sealed. If I had this I could display the toy along with the great box art.
Well played Tony! Brought me back to when I opened mine. Forgot about all the transforming elements like the back grill. Now if only they’d find an Action Force warehouse find, eh?
Awesome thank you love the reviews and yes it's your do whatever you like 😀...
Looks good man! Toys are so much better out of the box!
Nicely done!
MASK was one of the better 1980s cartoons.
Vanessa Warfield was an interesting villainess; ironically, she and her MASK counterpart, Gloria Baker, never really faced off against each other, one on one in the cartoons.
A nice thing about the MASK vehicles was that, same with Hasbro’s Transformers G1, were modeled after actual vehicles, complete with Goodyear tires.
MASK leader Matt Trakker was later added to the G. I. Joe Team as the team’s Advanced Tech Specialist, making him, technically, their Tony Stark.
That amazing toy is the one and only M.A.S.K. vehicle I own. In my humble opinion, it is THE best M.A.S.K. vehicle out of the first Season run. It's sleek, the flight mode is better than Thunderhawk, AND it has an unofficial rocket car mode (basically just flip out the missile pod and the jet engines). I bought it at a local toy con loose and with no stickers and manual, but it is in immaculate shape. The hinges are still tight, the rubber tires are intact, and has the ejection seat. Vanessa Warfield has the original version of her Whip mask, so I also bought a Raxx figure (with his original Stilleto mask) so she can eject him out of the passenger seat.
Man that thing is absolutely beautiful... such a great score! Good for you, my man!
Awesome . I’m so envious!!!
That was one of the only MASK toys I had as a kid. I loved it, since it was purple:)
I bought mine from TRU in 1988 and still own it. The only MASK toy I still own. Kept the box too. Could never part with it as I used to own a 300zx.
Thanks for sharing. NICE TOY CAR.🚂🚞🚞🚞🚞🚞
That is absolutely awesome, Tony. I wanted M.A.S.K. toys when I was a kid, but only managed to get a couple. Seeing this made me feel like that kid again, home from school watching M.A.S.K. and hoping for the toys. Here’s hoping one day we’ll actually get rereleases, but seeing this was just too damn cool. Thank you for sharing this and thanks to Dean for the amazing gift.
Another great video thank you for opening it I have now seen a manta out of the box keep up the great work
Count me in as a member of the openers club too! Just imagine, that toy has been in packaging for 33 years. It transported me back to being a kid, just seeing it being opened for the first time! And the engineering on those MASK toys is 1st class! They certainly don't make them like that anymore!
Wow, what a great toy and MASK collection! You are a dirty devil for having fun with your toys and sharing joy with your audience!
Great video Tony, that Manta looks super sweet! Always thought it was one of the best from the M.A.S.K. line. Man, M.A.S.K. should be brought back, it combines elements of super heroes, transforming, and vehicle play all together. And yet Hasbro does nothing with it. What a shame.
Brilliant video mate,I never managed to get hold of one these either back in the day.
Great video, that highlights the "Joy Of The Toy! " :)
Let it breathe! Such an awesome toy, one of my favorite MASK vehicles ever (which I still have). Thanks to you and Dean for helping relive the 1987 memory:)
I'm a 2000's kid, but every morning growing up, I would be blessed with reruns of old 80's cartoons. MASK was the one that was shown the most. I've always wanted a toy from MASK but hey, they were products of their time. I loved MASK as a sho and toyline.
I I got a windfall of cash I'd buy all the MASK sets MISB and just spend a day opening them all up.
Quite right sir! Open that bugger up and have fun!
Absolutely great video. What a find!!! Had a 'Pirhana' while my brother had 'Thunderhawk'. Always wanted a Slingshot or Nightstalker. Wonder were they included in the Chile find?
What a cool guy to give you that manta.try living without rules.😎love the channel dude.been watching for couple of years now.🙏👍🐜ant nz
If you were looking to recreate that 80's experience as a kid, you should have just torn into that box like it meant nothing! I remember boxes being in bits when I was a kid! Love seeing these old toys getting opened. Thumbs up from me!
Another great episode Tony! I love MASK toys and I have opened a mint in box Dynamo cos they found a heap of them some where a while ago, it was the closest thing to being a child of the eighties again short of time travel or dropping Acid, thanks for treating your new Manta with the respect it deserves and please keep up the excellent work.
Hi Tony im glad you enjoyed the manta.I never had Vanessa but yes the following. That bug truck with Alex sector, the green motorcycle from Ricandor.Mask son Scot with the mini robot call bee bop.Nice show thx enjoy the manta.
I'm amazed that the M.A.S.K. warehouse in Chile had maintained the toys in mint condition after three decades
Thanks that was awesome love mask 👍
Awsome mint clean tony!
Interesting fact - Manta wasn't initially in the plans to produce as a toy so there weren't any guidelines to follow by the artist. Same goes for Shark - as we know though, Manta would eventually land on shelves while Shark would not.
Great job always enjoy your videos 👍
Jealous!
I want some boxed toys to open!!!
Loved mask toy's I wish I still had mine
That's rad. -Dustin
Many less dislikes than I thought on this video. Somewhere there's a toy fan screaming that he'd buy the entire collection just to leave them boxed up in some dark, dingy space to let them accrue value just to say he has 100 boxed Mantas and they will never see the light of day lol
Very cool, a friend of my Eldest brother had the Venom and I always played with it when I was sent to play at their house along with my other siblings, when the friend grew out of it they gave it to me and then when I grew out of it I passed it on to a younger cousin. I need to find out if he still has it coz I'd love to get it again as an adult collector. MASK and Dinoriders were 2 series I never watched or owned anything of first hand but I think they are such neat lines and I don't understand why they've never really been brought back. I know Zuru does dinosaurs with added weapons but its not the same.
Waffling on getting a Condor to replace the one a 3rd grader stole from me in 82. Will probably eventually get it. Want to make sure the paint isn't to damaged on the figure though.
Didn’t know Vanessa Warfield’s Manta had a vanity plate. Not sure if that was the case in the cartoons.
Nice. The Manta’s technically a riff on Marvel’s SHIELD flying car, and the MASK Shark’s a nod to James Bond’s Lotus Esprit from The Spy Who Loved Me. 👍
Loved the intro, I envy you on this one Tony. I remember opening my Manta and Goliath when I was a kid, but would love to do it again
This video must be hell for people who prefer to collect mint in box but I do like to watch toys being reviewed
