yeah I got a lot of citrus trees at my house and I got new pepper plants already growing in my Greenhouse again and I'm starting to work on my herb garden also so I like walking through my yard and I just start grazing like a cow in a pasture😂

That looks like a young pomelo. Could be a cross, that can happen. If it's too bitter, shake on some salt. Works on any citrus, and works on other fruits, too! Love you Johnny, Love you Tommy, love to Johnny Junior, and eternally, love to Papa Scoville!!!

Of all the things it was a lemon/grapefruit that got a reaction out of Johnny, like this guy eats peppers that would make soldiers pass out from pain and enjoys them like candy but this thing about made him cry 😂
well, with all the years I have lived in the desert... The absolute best place to plant a grapefruit tree... It is near the leach lines for the septic tank 🙂 you will get the best fruit in this spot. Ha ha ha,

Could these possibly be Ponderosa Lemons?
I believe what you just ate... Was is called a "Ponderosa Lemon ", it's a very large lemon, characteristically with a very thick skin like a grapefruit, and is so different from your paradigm of what a lemon looks like traditionally. This year alone I've had a couple of them given to me, I call them Chernobyl lemons... They are a freaky Frankenstein looking very unusual lemon. Mr. Google says..... Ponderosa lemons are large, with thick, bumpy skin. They are a cross between a citron and a lemon, and are about the size of a grapefruit. also look up a picture of one of these Chernobyl type of fruits, definitely altered genes to create this fruit. 🙂

So, if a lemon tree is fertilized a bit too well, it can produce lemons from the regular size (comparable to the size of their lime parent) to things almost as large as their citron parent (as big as pomelos!) ... so then if you have a well-cared for lemon and grapefruit in the same yard, you are going to get some big, bitter fruits!

Ponderosa lemons are giant and have a bumpy skin just like that. They are a really bitter lemon. We never used those for juice when we were kids.

My great grandparents had a Lemon crossed Grapefruit tree in Chandler, AZ and they were the craziest/sourest things but I loved them. I'm in Tucson and haven't had one like it years.

Could be Yuma Ponderosa. How old is the tree? Look for the graft point at the bottom of the trunk of the plant, and if the majority of the plant is coming from beneath the graft it is more than likely Yuma Ponderosa. There's also a chance that for some reason somebody managed to come across that breed and plant it; I think it's a lemon/citron cross.

I've seen lemon trees do that ... lemons are a cross between limes and citrons, so they can throw fruit as small as a lime and almost as big as a a citron if they have good soil and water and climate!

bitter orange.. btw, with citrus, u can plant a seed of a lemon, and get a completely different citrus. This is because lemons, oranges, are all cross bred originally
I hate grapefruit straight up so this would've been torture for me, I love it in beer and other things though. I bet there are grapefruit hot sauces, I wonder how that would be.

OMG Im laughing out loud.
Most of my family either eats lemons like oranges or drinks lemon juice. With the juice there is a debate over adding salt or not. No buzz that I recall. As for size, yeah there are some home grown lemons that are massive. If it was a grapefruit then you would need to worry if you are on certain statin as they have an interaction warning.

Unfortunately no, cross pollination can only happen between different varieties of the same species, the only possible way to get that is maybe gene splicing but that’s out of my realm of knowledge.
