Miranda, I am new to your channel but just wanted to pop up and say how much I am enjoying your videos. They are so relaxing to watch, and you seem so natural in front of the camera, it is like watching a video of a friend. You looked wonderful in front of the rhododendrons - your pink coat matched them perfectly!
I love seeing you and your mom’s relationship, how close you are. And you both have the most gorgeous complexions. That must be what they call English rose!
I love love love all your videos but I just adore the ones where you and Donna chat, you clearly have such a lovely relationship! Thank you as ever for sharing these little snippets of your everyday lives
The books are what drew me to your site. I'm a very avid reader and like you have large interest. Love your clothes. I wish I had relationship with my Mom when she was alive. But I still loved her dearly and miss her. Thank you again for the joy and comfort you both bring to so many of us that are blessed with coming upon your site.
I love beautiful covers and have bought a book just for its cover.Mostly I read them as well.Loved the covers on the books you bought your mum.I can see why you like living in the country it is just stunning.I live in the country in Australia and it is not nearly as enchanting a walk around here can be a bit challenging in fact. You know hot .and dry with .lots of nasty insects and of course you have to watch you don't step on a snake ,which I have done.I just love the English countryside and would love to visit again one day as my husbands family live in Oxford, unfortunately this may not happen anytime soon.Best wishes to you both and thank you both.xx
So enjoyable to spend some time with you at the breakfast table and on your walk, Miranda. I feel very nostalgic when you go to Harlow Carr gardens, it reminds me of my childhood in Harrogate. What a fantastic haul of books - lucky Donna. I love the John Minton and J.S. Goodall illustrations. I'm enjoying daffodils and crocuses on my daily walks and feeling quite Spring-like. Hope you and Donna have a lovely week! xx
What a pretty brunch table, soooo loved your egg cosies 😍 I too follow the Wooster method when eating a boiled egg 🤣 How lovely to have such beautiful gardens nearby, the rhododendrons were looking amazing and you coordinated splendidly in your lovely pink coat 🌺💫 So glad you both had such a special couple of days, what a nice treat, especially after the one or two mishaps you’ve had during the last few weeks. Fabulous choice of books; hope you both have a great week, ‘see’ you on Friday 😘 BTW, my daughter and I made your treacle bites on Sunday, absolutely delicious 🥰👍🏻
Hehe glad to hear of other fans of the Wooster method, Karen 😂 Thank you so much - we really did enjoy our stress-free weekend! Very pleased you enjoyed the treacle bites! Xxx
Hi Miranda and Donna, it was lots of fun spending time with you again today and so many inspiring things in your vlog, as usual. It must be an absolute delight to be able to chat together over tea about the books you've both enjoyed reading and I wish you much happiness doing that about Reginald Arkell's writing. Donna you have been thoroughly spoilt by Miranda and very deservedly so too. Have a lovely week, Teresa 🌸📚🌸
Another very lovely visit with you and your beautiful mum! The gardens were so gorgeous and just puts one in the mood for spring as do all your flowers at the table. Since your video on comic novels I finally gave Wodehouse a try and have now listened to 6 Jeeves and Wooster books and 2 Blandings Castle books and started Wooster tv series! Yes you got me hooked on audiobooks while doing mundane chores, driving, etc. In the way of reading (not listening) my mom and I recently enjoyed The Hills is Lonely and I'm loving The Diary of a Provincial Lady currently and can't wait for my mom to read it! I am looking for a nice copy of Old Herbaceous as I know I'd enjoy it and hope your mum will! The vintage hardbacks you gave her are gorgeous! Happy Spring, Miranda and Donna! 😀📚❤️🌷🌷
Oh I’m so happy to hear you’re enjoying my recommendations! I just love P G Wodehouse!! The Diary of a Provincial Lady is such a brilliant read too 😊❤️📚
What a beautiful Mother's Day breakfast table - the flowers looked so cheerful! There's not much sign of spring here in NH, but I'm hoping that my rhododendrons bloom sometime soon. We also have a gorgeous forsythia bush in the front of the house that is such a lovely bright yellow from the middle to end of April. Can't wait for that! The books you chose for your mom are so sweet! I just re-bought Old Herbaceous, so I hope it comes soon for spring reading. I adore the illustrations in all of the books you showed - oh, how I wish I could draw like that! Have a wonderful week, Miranda! Hugs to you and your mom :D xoxo
Delightful videos. You're both so Quintessentially British. Reminds me of my darling English Granny who immigrated to Australia from Scotland in the early '50s. She'd spent time abroad in Malta growing up but had never lost her English accent. I've begun using my fine bone tea cups for my afternoon tea to watch your videos. Lovely.
I know this was 2 months ago filmed but such joy y'all have given me this day. I'm elderly and in an apt. I've always as adult loved in country with birds and flowers . I miss that life so much so the walks with you two brings back my memories. I feel as if I am walking with you.Thank you.
That is so funny that you learned how to take off the top of the egg from Bertie Wooster (or Hugh Laurie)! That is absolutely my favorite TV show of all time. The bread looks delicious. What a lovely walk and thoughtful, beautiful books!
Because of your channel I have discovered so many new authors to look for. I have a whole shelf now dedicated to your recommendations. I'm so happy. Loved the vlog. Thank you both so much for sharing. 💕
Hi Miranda, Look at You, I love your gorgeous dress all light & springy! So pretty! Your breakfast table looks amazing. Your Mum is so blessed to have you for a lovely thoughtful daughter. I loved your walk & your cute book choices! Well done - so beautiful! Your Spring looks amazing. Here in Australia is getting very chilly - Autumn now! In Australia Mothers Day is in May! Thank you for sharing! ❤️🇦🇺🦘💐
Hello Miranda & Donna, I've only just found your wonderful vlog in the last couple of days and I'm absolutely loving them. Beautiful shots of Harlow Carr. Spring is definitely in the air, Cherry blossom is just coming out in Doncaster (South Yorkshire) where I live and Wakefield (West Yorkshire) where I work. Keep up the good work, Books, tea, cake and gardens, it doesn't get any better than that!
Beautiful clog, thank you both. What fabulous books for Mothers Day. Donna I would love your bread recipe please; a delicious 'everyday' loaf recipe would be so helpful! X
Lovely table for your mom Miranda🌷lovely walk through the park. Those red blossoms and your mom beside them just lovely! Enjoyed listening to you and your mom going g through the books 🌷
Miranda that table setting was EVERYTHING💕🥰.... Just watching You and Donna eat and chat on Mother’s Day made me Happy🥰.... I watch several book tubers and out of all of them .... your vlogs and maybe one other gets me through the week🤷🏾♀️🥰
Beautiful selection of books. What a thoughtful present! No signs of spring here as we head into autumn but we have just planted some daffodil bulbs for later in the year. The gardens at Harlow Carr looked lovely and I particularly loved the woven sculpture of the two hares fighting.
What a beautiful Vlog Donna and Miranda! I am so glad you had a nice Mothers 'Day. Thank you so much for sharing those amazing walks in the garden and the books too!
Thank you for sharing the gorgeous spring colors on your garden walk. Here, some hearty, short purple blooms (my botanical lexicon is sorely limited) and a louder volume of birdsong are insisting the spring is on its way, despite the freezing temperatures and bluster. It was such a pleasure, as always, to spend a little time with both of you. I love your floral dress!
I’m loving the renewed vigour of the birdsong now too! It makes it so much easier to wake up early when they sound so cheerful! Thank you as always for your lovely comments, Pamela 💕
Dear Miranda and Donna, I love all of your vlogs, because you both are so adorable and for me it always feels I meet family, so please keep on doing these vlogs. Greetings from The Netherlands😊🇳🇱
What a beautiful video and such gorgeous flowers! The daffodils are such a simple but cheerful flower. Your breakfast table was simply stunning also. We're in our autumn season here in Australia and the weather should be cooling down but the temperature is still in the high 30's.
Thank you for sharing your day! Your breakfast looked delicious - particularly the bread. I would have eaten the whole loaf, I have no self-control where bread is concerned 😀. Loved seeing the beautiful rhododendrons and also the primroses. Harlow Carr is definitely on my list of places to visit. 🌸 What wonderful editions of the books you gave your mum.
Absolutely adore your videos. They make me miss my mother. I have expanded my reading to include many of your recommendations. Thank you for so honestly sharing your lives. I know your Mum enjoyed the special attentions. She seems such a sweet lady♥️
What gorgeous books! I love John Goodall’s illustrations. Do you know his little Edwardian picture books? He did a series of them and the Edwardian Christmas one is burned into my soul because I used to leaf through it every Christmas as a child (and still do!!)! I was lucky enough to buy an original watercolour of Goodall’s of a French chateau and its garden and it gives me so much pleasure. His pictures of people are absolutely wonderful though. Wonderful vlog, thank you, your relationship is just lovely to share in and your videos always are so calming and inspiring!
Thank you for your lovely comment, Elizabeth! I do have some of his Edwardian picture books; I don't have the Christmas one though. I can imagine it's beautiful!!
I’ve been picking up so many vintage books lately, inspired by all of your beautiful finds! Thank you again for your beautiful videos - I can’t wait for spring to arrive where I am and to see some of the same flowers! 🌷
What a lovely vlog, Miranda! It looks like spring is finally here 🌸 And what a treat all those wonderful books! I already thanked you for recommending “Old Herbaceous” which I absolutely adored, but I must thank you once again for giving us ideas on what to read next 😊 #cozyreads
Lovely vlog as usual Miranda! 😊 The Rhododendrons looked lovely. I did the Annapurna trek in Nepal during the Rhododendron season a few years ago and it was truly spectacular to see so many in full bloom (mountains were pretty good as well! 😂). Always so happy to spend a peaceful and calm part of my day with you and your Mum. Thanks for sharing. 😊😊
Really enjoy your videos, especially when you and your mum are chatting away quite naturally. Nice choices in the books for your mum. I have Old Herbaceous but have not yet read it. Alas, mine is just a soft cover but yours looks just wonderful. Since you and your mum love mysteries so much, I wonder if either of you have read any Louise Penny? I know you lived in Canada for a while and her books are set in Quebec. They are simply wonderful. No blood and gore but all of them are outstanding reads. Cheers from Canada.
Such a lovely walk ... thank you for sharing it with us and hope your mum had a nice mother’s day 💐 breakfast looked very yummy 📚💞📚 I hope your mum tells us what she thought about the books when she reads them .... I am starting stranger diaries by Elly griffiths 📚💞📚
