Thanks for watching the video! Comment below and I'll answer any question to the best of my knowledge - This one was a little messy in terms of clarity and all, tried to fit too much information in one video, but videos done after this are now clearer Appreciate your support
Thanks for the great review. I've purchased a VCORE PRO 97 (310) few weeks ago, all I can say is that this racquet is well balanced, powerful when good technique is applied (long swing), very control orientated but in the same time quite powerful. I've put Solinco Hyper G Soft at the 22 kg. This racquet will not forgive shots out of the sweet spot, but once your footwork put you in the right position and swing is long and fast, the ball will fly like a rocket. Amazing racquet. Previously I was playing with Yonex RD Power 10 long (Marcelo Rios) 335g and Dunlop 200g (Tomy Haas). I cant be happier with the purchase of VCORE PRO 97. Now I will start experimenting with different string setups and tensions to find a perfect blend of power-control-feel-confort-spin.
This is the best review I’ve seen. Comprehensive, technical, filled with great insights I haven’t seen anywhere else (eg Yonex having great QC on static weights but less so for swing weights), and honest. Subbed!
Wow what an excellent video with so much thought put into the commentary. Thank you. I used wilson kblade tours for several years but then didn't play much for nearly a decade. Getting back into playing regularly, I have found I am not good enough anymore to stick with the kblade tours. After much searching I found a great demo in the Vcore Pro 97H - similar to the kblade tour but a larger headsize that is naturally more forgiving. I have been enjoying it for about 2 months but was looking for something with slightly more spin potential so I recently also picked up the vcore 98 to demo. Have enjoyed it a lot so far. Briefly demoed the ezone and did not like it at all; however, I think the string tension was super high (over 60lbs) which made the racket unusable for me, even as someone who generates plenty of power. Not sure why the tennis shop did that. Really think I'll end up with either the vcore pro 97H or the vcore 98 if I decide I enjoy the extra spin.
Haha yes bit strange, maybe someone who demoed it requested their own tension and paid for it separately and it was left there All Yonex frames has something there for everyone, just a matter of preference and playstyle Hope all goes well you find the racquet you need
I love my Vcore Pro 310! Perfect platform racket! I added weight to it and it's at 334g strung and just under 8pts HL strung. I used the Prestige Mid, Phantom 97p, and Blade Pro Labs 16x19 before and I'm super happy I switched. Super comfy racket and with a little weight to 3 and 9 and the handle it's extremely stable!!!
I like it alot, i bought it in a larger grip size because i found it for cheaper but id actually play alot better if i could do it in my normal grip - maybe if some funds free up ill get it again properly
@@steveschaeffer5999 I ended up taking off most of the weight from 3 and 9, only about 2 or 3 grams on each side. I left a bunch in the handle to keep it at around 8 HL w/ dampener and overgrip.
@@meowmixmeowmix Thanks man! I liked it a lot, but way to flimsy in stock form. I will try to add weight to 3 and 9 and in the handle. What string set up felt best for you in this frame?
@@steveschaeffer5999 I usually used softer strings, but this racket is way too soft to use a cushiony string for me. I put the Grey poly tour strike to get some pop back into the racket. Almost felt too muted when I used a soft string on this racket. I'd put any lively string into this racket.
Many thanks for a very thoughtful and thorough review. I play with all three rackets and I don't think you've said anything off the mark. The only thing I would add is the VCore Pro is great for the one-handed back-hand, but as you say it requires precise footwork and more effort.
Thanks for the feedback - totally agree, Vcore Pro is a good racquet for 1 hander just the same, i quite enjoyed it because it plays flat drives better than the other two
Thanks for the review. One feedback: if you are reviewing racquets to help people choose which one to buy, don't customize them. It only confuses things.
Thanks for the feedback, although most viewers prefer me to do it so understand the potentials of the racquet, but my ratings are only based on stock form But i agree in this video its a little confusing because i had to condense alot of information in a short time so i talked quite fast - so in my more recent videos ive simplified what im saying alot more to make it clear
Fantastic review as always! With your alternatives to the VCore Pro, were you referring to the new 2022 TF40 or the previous version? Would love a TF40 review!
Thanks - dont really think either version will much of a difference other than launch angle, more about launch angle for me but it was a quality racquet last gen - thinking about one but gotta complete the other stuff first 😊
In this occasion i wouldnt judge based on clips, all the ezone and pro clips were just me hitting back and forth, i was just putting more effort in when i was playing with the Vcore that day, but there are so many sessions that i dont record because i dont have the HDD space to keep it all, i play better with the Ezone by far I just need the footage for the video, but what im describing is more relevant than those sessions of recording
Tried the V Core 98 and ditched it after a few days. Straight back to the Ezone 98. Ezone is such a solid frame that does everything well. V Core seems too lightweight, yet very comfortable.
Nice rev! Learned a lot. I'm soon testing out the Head extreme tour against the Ezone 98. I will need to bump up the swingweight to around 330g. Would love to hear your thoughts... Do you have a favourite between those two (after customization) and why? I been playing with the Vcore pro 97 and currently using the wilson 97 with some led but need change.
Ezone has become one of my rotation racquets for match play, havent added one in a couple years, only needed a swingweight of 321 but ive added a leather grip which made it headlight but higher static weight than i normally play with The extra weight helps with the stability to offset the lowish swingweight and the racquet is now really quite solid and stable for it's range Extreme Tour will be similar control levels maybe a little less accessible power but more spin potential, this one you can get it to the 327-330 SW range to play better since it lacks a bit in stock - i choose Ezone over ET because serve is not comparable and i get alot of free points from serve, so Ezone is what i go with
Fantastic review, many thanks ! I switched from a VCore 97 Pro (2018 model) to an Ezone 98 (2022) recently, both with a 4 3/8 grip. To my surprise, the grip of the Ezone is actually thicker by 1 mm (both the longer and the shorter side) which for me really makes a difference, almost like having an extra overgrip. I have two rackets each, so it doesn't seem to be a production issue. I took the overgrip off and it feels just right now, but the stock grip doesn't have the same tactile feel as e.g. a Yonex Super Grap. You mentioned that you put a leather grip on your racket - is that something you could recommend ?
Excellent review mate, I played with ezone and just switched to a vcore, cant agree more with how you describe them! Can I just ask you please how much/ where you added weight on the vcore for 324 swingweight? I have been experimenting with adding weight for stability I would like to see how it works for me with 324. Thanks in advance and well done your videos are awesome!
Another great comparison! Thank you for the effort. Have you ever tried Vcore 100 and Pure Aero? Basically want to see how the Vcore 98 compare to Vcore 100 and/or Aero
Havent tried the 100, but likely it's going to be in the middle between the Aero and the 98, overall both are just going to be enhancement of every aspect you'd expect like power, spin, launch angle, stiffness and decrease to control, feel
Great video and thank you for taking the time to make it. Also I appreciate the time you put into replying to everyone’s comments/questions. I need some advice, from reading through the comments I noticed you approve of the pure strike 16x19. I’m playing with the 2020 ezone 100 (added 8g to handle to make it more headlight) for the last couple years, but wanting to get into a “players stick” as I’m getting better, attacking net more often, and I use a one handed backhand. The rackets I’m considering are Pure Strike 16x19 gen 3, VCP 97 310g, blade V8, and 2022 Ezone 98. I’m a smaller guy, early 30’s, good strength/athleticism, 4.0ish player. Do you think the PS would be a good stick to transition into?
Personally i think Speed MP is a better transition racquet to go to if you are moving towards something more advanced from Ezone 100's or Babolats, it does everything well, while still soft and controlled enough with power capabilities - i would normally say Ezone 98 but this year it's more difficult to use than previous years Strike is a great performer, because it has power, it's a thinner frame than what you use, but not super thin, it can do alot of things well, but would have to be very careful with specs when buying because some easily are over the mark on swingweight rendering it too heavy and not playing the way it should, - it plays very well, it's just that it has a very muted feel which some people might not like at all , and also some people have problems with wrist, elbow or shoulder pain with it - for me i do as well but with the right string setup it's too problematic Blade is my number 1 racquet normally to move people to player orientated racquets, but the swingweights on V8 are very quite low, youll likely need to add weight, which is troublesome for people who've never done it before, nonetheless really good racquet for what you're looking for
great in-depth review! great hitting and video angles as well...really eye-ing up on Yonex for my next sticks as I tend to get bored easily lol...I currently play with a stock Head Radical MP (solinco hyper-g @ 53# 17g) and the only parts of my game that I would like more "free power" on is my backhand (two-handed) as well as serves...I tend to put a lot of action on my forehand and the Radical MP is great in that department. In your opinion of these 3 racquets, which do you think still has good playability but perhaps just a touch more free power? I haven't experimented w lead tape at all but am curious on your thoughts..been playing at the USTA 4.5-5.0 for 15yrs...thanks so much and keep up the great videos! look forward to subscribing and going thru more of your content!
I would try the new Speed MP , or Ezone 98 with at least 1g lead at 12 if it's too light in stock form - 2 very good racquets for the year that do alot of things right in many areas - Radical MP is probably better than Vcore 98, and since you want more power, you'd have to go with Ezone really - i wouldn't stick with just these 3 as your only options though
I've been demoing the Yonex rackets. 4.0+ NTRP. Current racket is the older Volkl PB 10. Swing weight of 320 flex of 60, 10 points HL, I think. It has a small head size and I have difficulty generating power against hard hitters, kind of what you said also. So I need a bigger head size, maybe higher RA? Still hope to get the very headlight balance though. I like a spin game. Vcore pro 97 330 is little too heavy for me, don't think I could play a whole match with it. Vcore 95 but with multi strings was too soft, not enough bite on the ball for spin it seems. So need to demo the other ones... Or maybe the 95 with poly? Was leaning towards the pro 310, but from what you're saying maybe the vcore 98 is better for that? Really like your comprehensive approach, giving people a lot of things to think about, so we'll make an informed purchase... Thanks. Your talk speed was a little too fast for me, but maybe that's just me...
Hi mate, yeah i talk fast on purpose since theres too much information, dont want to make it a 50 min video haha , but ive decided to make shorter videos and make things a little more clear that way Can try something like a Gravity Tour - Vcore 95 is demanding and has good spin with a sharp poly but need to be quite switched on to use it all the time So again maybe Gravity Tour, Boom Pro, Tecnifibre TF40 16x19, Vcore 97 and Ezone 98 are all solid options
@@ACTennis okay thanks. I will look at that. It's just difficult for someone who's not a tennis pro to know which one to get without demoing 10 or 15 rackets. And even if you found one that works you may not know why it works... IMO you do a good job of explaining the technicalities of why certain rackets are better than others for certain things. I'll look at those, maybe demo from tennis Warehouse, and study this video again...
Thanks! I dont think ill buy it because some other stuff interests me at the moment, i just tried to demo it yesterday and i wasnt able to because i wouldnt be able to return it on the days they needed me to lol 😅
Great review. I use the old DR98 weighted at 3 & 9. I didn't like the new ezone when it came out, and havent tried the latest ezones, but from what I've heard, they're closer to the old DR98. My daughter uses the 2021 vcore 98, and she loves it, having moved up from the DR98 LG and tested a LOT of sticks before choosing it. I think they're all good from what I can tell, and it's more the individual playing style that dictates which of these great sticks will work for you.
Excellent perspective - i bought dr98 on multiple different occasions because it was raved about , and it just never worked for me, this one works alot better for me in particular and is the only ezone ive ever stuck with
@@ACTennis Wow, thanks for the feedback, that is really interesting. I'm trying to figure out next steps, and I think your advice might be very helpful if you have the time? Can you advise what you found different between the old DR98 and the new ezone? The reason I ask, is that when my daughter had her DR98 LG, I bought the "adult size" DR98, with the thinking that she would graduate to those. Eventually, she got to a point when she wanted a heavier stick, and while I said she could use mine, we both thought why not try a bunch, and in the end, she went with the VCore 98 instead. I still love my older DR98, but I think it might be good to try something new, so I'd love some advice from someone who has been through it, and come out the other side.
I usually don’t make any reviews but this video deserved one. My interest in the VCORE 98 peaked greatly when I demo’d the racket last week. Your vdo has confirmed my suspicion in the need to try the Extreme Tour + Pure Aero VS before pulling the trigger. Ps. I am coming from the old Pure Drive + Roddick which has always felt too slow and too powerful to hit
@@ACTennis can you whip out a quick, subjective even, general ranking of these 4 racquets please (even if you haven't play-tested one but have knowledge of) Extreme Tour Extreme Pro Pure Aero VS Vcore 98 No need to go in to details or be in accordance with any specific preferences :)

I mostly buy everything, definitely dont have the spare money to go off and do stuff that are out of the popular models 😅 and our demo programs here are pretty non existent , if i get my channel up enough momentum maybe ill be able to collab with a company to help me in that field 😊
Love your reviews as always. For the rackets you think could do better with some modifications, can you do a review on the racket with and without the mods? Thanks.
Most of the commentary is based on the racquets in stock form, but the commentary about the modifications is usually to do with what it improves where they were lacking - it's too subjective of a topic because everyone will prefer different things, so i just leave it to more generalities
Many have no clue the narrower throats like old 85inch heads of the past produce sweeter OHBH and pin point power thanks to narrower throats. If Yonex made the VCore 97 but with 6 string throat like on the Ezone it would be the best OHBH model - even better than the VC95 which somehow still has wider throat than the Ezone 98.
Hi, first nice review, subscribed! My racquet today is a Pure Aero 100 headsize. I'm a fan of racquets and want to buy another one, the problem is not my actual racquet btw. I really like to perform spin shots, people who play against me say that my ball have much spin and I like this, I'm not an actual flat hitter, but I dont like 310+ weight racquets because my wrist starts to pain. I think that's because I use it a lot for spin the ball. Yesterday I've played with my teacher racquet, an blade 98 v6, and I think I was missing some attacking shots near the net, striking them at the back of the court. And I really like that low height near the net shots. I don't know if you can help me, but what do you think about EZONE 98 or VCORE 98 for my kind of gameplay??? I can't decide, I don't have much experience with other racquets. I will not sell my Pure Aero, I really like the racquet, but I want to try another one and play with them both.
Thanks Pedro If you can, you should try to demo a few racquets - Vcore 98 might be one that has similar power, bit more spin than the Blade 98 v6 Can also try new Solinco Whiteout , which you can hit both spin and flat attacking shots, and it's 305g and easy to swing Ezone will be a bit more controlled, and flat shots might be a little harder to swing
@@ACTennis I've bought and Ezone 100. Today I will test it but I think it will be a good racket! After some reviews I liked what I see.. Really good power and fell, good forgiveness, control and spin... For what people said, it's a good all around racket. Ansious to play with this beautiful stick!
Great review! I have been playing with a VCP 97HD/D for past 2 years but with advancing age and injuries now feel I need a racquet with easier spin and power. Any thoughts between Ezone 98 and VCore98? Any others I should consider?
Ezone 98 is a nice choice, just depends if you like the head shape or not - will have more contrl than the Vcore, so if anything, i would wait for the new Vcores in January to release to see if they improve it, because current model was so-so Speed Pro would be a good choice as well
@@ACTennis Thanks. It is interesting that the new VC98 has been released, and the initial specs point to a reduced stiffness (62 vs 66), reduced swing-weight (318 vs 325), while weight and balance are the same, similar ballpark to the EZ! They've played around with the head shape Wider at top, lengthened mains) and grommets. I wonder how it will play with so much flex and low SW - maybe higher trajectory and feeling of control .......
I’ve been using the extreme tour and like it but sometimes it may lack some control. Too much power sometimes. How does the vcore pro 97 compare in terms of power, spin and comfort? I know the vcore pro has less spin, more control and more comfort but overall is it noticeable to make a change? Do you think the vcore pro 97 is a better option? Also, how does the current vcore pro 97 compare with the 2019 vcore pro 97 a nd to the lighter version of the pro staff? And can the one generate topspin in the backhand side? I’ve seen reviews that say it’s kind of difficult.
I tried the vcore and the ezone in the 98 and 100 version but for now I prefer the extreme tour. Have not tried the vcore pro 97 (2021) I tried the vcore pro 97 (330) of 2019 and did not like it. Too heavy and hard to whip to get topspin.
I’ve demoed dozens of racket in the past two years. As I said I extreme tour but sometimes my game is affected by some unpredictability when I drive with topspin. I use a one handed backhand and have a tender elbow which gets affected if I play with s stiffer racket and poly.
I like the feel of the extreme tour as it flexes when you hit the ball. Looking forward to the upcoming extreme tour but still i would prefer a more precise racket where I can know where the ball is going. But I rely alot on my topspin and extreme topspin technique with much power. So, it’s hard to decide what racket to play with. Possibly I Plan to play for a month or so with the extreme tour and the vcore pro 97. You think the vcore pro 97 2021 is much better than the 2019 version? I like the paint job of the 2019 version but I want to get the better of the two itinerario of these rackets.
In your opinion, if you had to choose one YONEX racquet to go to battle with for DOUBLES only, which would you choose? Would that change if you were 65 years old? I would be grateful for your thoughts.
For control i'd say EZ -> GT -> VC in that order (left to right) and power i'd say VC -> GT -> EZ , Gravity is a bit of a mixed bag racquet, but swingweights i'd be a bit careful because even at lower swingweights i feel like it doesnt move as nicely as the EZ or VC
I went from a yellow dR 98, to the vcore 98, and the ball would just fly on me, good power, but could never find proper string or tension - changed to vcore pro 97, and not as much pocketing, or ability apply power…ended on ezone 98 2022…excellent - no real noticeable feeling of stiffness..or increase in vibration…feels quite comfortable..Nice comparison vid - well done
Thanks Steven, I am definitely enjoying the Ezone alot, and got even better when i found my perfect spec setup, usually not one to modify too much either
It's just a different shape, so it will feel strange , probably feel a little thicker - you can try using a thinner replacement grip like Wilson Feather Thin or Babolat Syntec Team on the size 3, and also use some electric tape or something to build the butt of the racquet to be bigger or if you go with Grip 2 , find a thicker grip, one with lots of cushioning to make it feel bigger
Haha really a loaded question, mostly depends on your serve technique and strength , i say Ezone is a great racquet for serving because it works on a wider variety of players and strength levels, so it's versatile in that way Strike hits huge, Pure Drive hits huge, Aero VS, even Prestige MP, all depends on what you can handle Variables for a good serving racquet is 1) it's manoeuvrable 2) accurate 3) enough weight to plow through / stiff enough to generate power Also extended length racquets will serve even better, but then may have an impact on your groundstrokes if you aren't used to it
very nice review, i am currently using a vcore98 thinking to change to an Ezone 98 as i am finding it too muted...would the ezone be better in this department or very similar?
It's also muted, but alot more ball pocketing , youll need better technique to utilize ezone effectively if you havent already developed it, because it will likely be lower powered
Thanks for your advice! I am just a 3.0~3.5 low intermediate player whos trying to develop the right technique atm for my shots....i am finding it abit difficult to swing through the ball with my vcore98 atm (lost control often)....any good recommendation for other rackets? I am considering getting a gravity MP would this help? I have a one handed backhand
@@kevinko7057 Personally i woudlnt use vcore 98 around that level, need something more manoeuvrable, Gravity MP a good choice, even some of these racquets have the L version of the exact same model, like the vcore 98L if you want to use this racquet, the weight is what will mess with you and you wont be able to swing fully I would say Speed MP, but you have to get a speed MP that has a very low swingweight, because this generation they all have very high swingweights which would even make it difficult for me to use effectively - a low one would be one of the best ones to use
Curious if you could describe the differences between Blade V8 and Ezone...Playing with V8 now, and really like it, but am curious about additional power.
Blade will be slightly softer, Ezones gonna have similar pocketing but like a more hidden stiffness because of the VDM tech - definitely more power at the stock swingweight by far because it swings fast, and has some more thickness to the beam, but can be just as manoeuvrable as well - also lot more spin , overall i think a better racquet if you want the extra power, whilst maintaining control
Hi, what do you think about Solinco Hyper G ? I have a wilson burn (a real rocket in term of power) but is it a good idea to put it on my racquet? Thanks, your video are awesome and very instructive 👍
I don't really enjoy the feel of Hyper-G, i think performance wise it does very well in terms of spin and durability - the feel is a bit too muted for my liking, and alot of racquets these days are already muted, so it just doubles up I prefer hyper g soft but it loses tension very very fast As long as you don't have any arm issues, no reason why you cant use hyper g or some kind of control string to offset the power of the burn
@@ACTennis I have the Pro Staff v12 but I don't feel exactly as solid as my old prestiges but I feel lile the ultra according to your review might be a bit more demanding than the pro staff. And don't get me wromg but I kind of miss something with the pro staff (Maybe some stability) but like how it feels and perform when hit on the right spot. Thanks a lot
m a d3 college tennis player, and I use a vcore pro 97... and occasionally when they are being strung i have 3 back up vcore tour g 97s. Anyways a friend of mine has a ezone 98 for sale... and im curious if this racquet will be a good fit for me. I hit hard with lots of topspin. do you think this frame would be good for me.
Depends if you want to continue to have control and precision - the Ezone suits a very quick snappy swing, the old vcore pro 97 (assuming you have the last version before Percept) was very flexible and lower powered, didn't give much for free Ezone gives good spin and power and has some control built in - i think the Vcore 98 suits my swing better though, but more extension and lengthening in my stroke, which i feel the Ezone doesn't like as much
Just tried the Ezone 98 2022, with my current racquet being a Blade 98 V7 18 x 20. I was shocked to find that the Ezone was very stiff and boardy in comparison. The sweet spot was very difficult to locate. Ground strokes felt very low powered-much more penetration and spin with my Blades, which didn’t make much sense to me. On serve, I was able to get more pace and spin with my Blade, which I couldn’t understand. The Ezone just felt very stiff and dull. Perhaps the strings were dead? In any case, I’m still baffled as to why the Ezone was so disappointing to me. From all the reviews, it should be a good choice for my playing style and preference in racquets. In practice, that was not the case. I may give it another shot and ask if I can restring it with my preferred strings.
@@CH-yp5by Since it was a demo, I'm not quite sure what the tension was. However, from doing the sound test (pinging the strings against the frames) the tension on the Ezone seemed to be pretty close to my Blade V7 18 x 20, which was strung at 47 lbs. The strings on the Ezone were Genesis Black Magic crossed with Babolat Xcel in Blue, in case you wanted to know that too. I just couldn't get over how stiff and locked up the Ezone 98 felt. No matter how dead my strings get on my Blade, it never feels as boardy or uncomfortable as that Ezone felt. The most surprising thing was that I was able to get considerably more power and spin from my Blade 18 x 20 over the Ezone, and serves just felt extremely sluggish. My goal was to get a bit more power and pop than my Blade, but this experience is really leaving me confused. I also demoed the Head Extreme Tour at the same time, and while it was more forgiving, it was a bit too pingy for me, as I do not use a dampener.
@@naokisonoda-hq Ezone and V7 arent quite comparable , V8 is stiffer feeling and not as comfortable as the V7, and the Ezone is stiffer than the V8 still, i say it's similar plushness but that's not quite the same as outright comfort - firstly VDM hides stiffness so when strings die in the Ezone, all that dampening gets lost and all that hidden shock starts to reveal itself in my experience - and the V7 was one of the softest racquets you could get Also, the v7 18x20 on average has a 10-15pt swingweight difference to the Ezone, so both vibration wise and power wise, you are relying on alot more heft to generate pace where the Ezone is low powered already in it's light form, but only accessible in super fast swings And ideally you need to tailweight the Ezone, if it comes in less headlight than advertised because it becomes quite sluggish, which is why Ezone Tour was just not for me at 4pts HL, Blade is still one of the fastest racquets, but if you try V8 which has the same stock SW as ezone, V8 has no ability to generate as big of a ball on serve or groundstrokes
@@ACTennis Thanks for your insight! I do love my V7 18 x 20, but was just exploring to see if I could get a bit more power and spin from something else. While it is a supremely comfortable racquet, I still feel that I may be able to hit deeper in the court and get more pop and spin on my serves with a slightly more powerful frame. I've been exploring what TW rates as "low-medium" in the power department, so the Ezone seemed to be a natural choice. And, I did enjoy your lengthy review on it. I really appreciate how much time you put into your reviews, and the graphics you put so much detail into. Keep up the great work! Part of the issue may have been that it was my first hit after not playing all winter, so I wasn't very grooved in my strokes. I will continue to demo more frames as the season progresses, and would be open to anything you might suggest. Again, keep up the great content! You're one of the best reviewers on UA-cam!
@@naokisonoda-hq Thanks for the support :) You'd want to look at RA stiffness and also swingweight numbers, the lower the stiffness, like your Blade V7 from memory is about 63, the more swingweight it will require to generate power and spin - the higher the stiffness, and also beamwidth, the lower the swingweight can be for power generation So say , V7 18x20 (from memory) is on average 63 RA with dampening technology + 325++ swingweight Ezone is 317 swingweight with dampening tech and 65 stiffness I think between 65-66 RA and 62-63 RA is actually quite noticeable in terms of comfort, and definitely 317 to 325 swingweight is also very big difference - just remember those swingweight numbers are on average, so your Blade could very well be much higher because the 18x20 all came in higher swingweights, that number is just an average of all TennisWarehouse's stock that was measured at the time You are probably going to find it hard to get something as comfortable but more powerful than the Blade, only thing i could think of is maybe Gravity Tour, but the balance of that may make it less manoeuvrable, thus lower powered since it's harder to swing (depending on what the swingweight and balance ends up being on the demo)
Extreme Tour for spin and control by a good amount, power much less, not that forgiving but more built for high-int to advanced player that moves well, generates lots of racquet head speed Gravity MP will be higher launch angle, super super forgiving, spin is not bad either but control lacks, not very precise, adding weight to it makes it more powerful than it needs to be but doesnt sustain the power because of it's lack of control
sorry if i'm missing something at the Ezone 98 modifications: how to go from 330g strung w/ overgrip / 315mm balance / 310 swingweight - stock to 341g strung w/ leather grip & overgrip / 315mm balance / 321 swingweight - 1g @ 12 ? For me a leather grip and 1g@ 12 only add 3.5 points of swingweight to the racquet and the balance goes down to 31 mm and not 315 mm. i would like to test your favorite specs but i could not reach them even though i have a racquet with the same starting mods.
Think i just got mixed up with 2 ezones i had, the first i remember came more underspec, and the 2nd one was a but more regular to the TW specs - but the changes i used were quite minimal and helped just enough to play with it without changing it all too drastically
Nice review. Only tried the new Ezone 98. Like the feel and was very nice to serve with, but found it a bit to powerful. Any tips to get it in more of control mode? Strings and tension? Plays otherwise with Prestige MP.
How would you compare the MSV CoFocus to Yonex PolyTour Pro? I’ve been using PolyTour Pro 125 in my 2020 Ezone 98, but it’s a bit expensive like you said. What’s similar about them and what’s not to similar? Also, did tension do you like to string your rackets at?
Ptp feels more slick from that silicone covering that they use (i think) so itll slide better and keep better durability , MSV has maybe slightly more shape on it just ever so slightly feels a little more sharper but it still feels like a smooth poly Smooth polys are going to play fairly similar for the most part, id say MSV might have a slightly more crisp feel to it but things like power, comfort spin etc are fairly similar enough to not justify the price of PTP in comparison
Very best comparison. Can you suggest customization for Vcore Pro 97 310 2022 because I already use the 330's grams 2022 but it's unpredictable and low in control in High speed shot by is High swing weight. Thanks in advance
For 310, i just try to keep the weight light for myself, because i prefer lighter racquets, so i add as much weight as i can anywhere between 10 & 2 o'clock or 12 o'clock to increase swingweight, without needing much weight 2 grams at 12 o'clock will increase swingweight by about 10, so if your 310 starts around 317 swingweight, +2 grams is 327, then add a little bit to side for stability, 2g each side 3 & 9, will make swingweight around 331 I actually prefer 97D better, it will be better control and more predictable, and i don't need to customize
@@ACTennis Thanks for your 310's customization specs. I would buy 97D because the Specs of new 97D suggest me that have the same stability, less power than 97H with better control but little bit lower spin. I have bought 97HD used because many people says that is better than new version, but I used only one time. What do you think about? I go to customize 310 if I'm not satisfied I will buy new 97D. Can you explain to me, differences from your 310 customized VS 97D? Thanks in advance.
I would have liked a bit of on screen notation to differentiate between the rackets. I got lost as to which racket you were talking about as they dont match the visuals on screen. so I still dont know racket was which
Find the right spec setup and it works quite well, needs some added stability and maintain manoeuvrability if you increase the weight, but does not need alot
great video, i have the Ezone DR 98 and i'm thinking between Ezone or vcore 98 or 100. but i can't decided, i have one hand backhand, baseline player and i play un clay
If you want consistency because you play on clay, better with the new ezone 98, more power little less control then go for vcore 98 - more power and stability but less manoeuvrable go with ezone 100, and same with vcore 100 but more spin
@@ACTennis Which string are you enjoyed most in Ezone? I Like Yonex Poly tour Pro 1.20 like you, but looking for something else from Solinco. Could you recommend me which is the best?
@@lukasbittara9073 Might go with Hyper G soft but dont use 1.20mm it will die so fast like in a week , only 1.25mm for me - maybe tour bite soft 1.20mm or revolution again, but 1.20mm runs thicker and heavier but also dies fast, but it plays nice
@@ACTennis thanks for response! I tried Hyper g soft 1.25 bud its too unpredictable and plays different after 3 hours... what about Confi, TB and Hyper G in normal version, not soft?
Was revisiting this video.. why do you say the Vcore doesn’t suit your game as much as the ezone? You actually hit with a ton of spin and usually hang at the baseline
I'm already an aggressive player by nature, my hitting footage doesnt reflect my tournament play, i just to rally more for the footage, the vcore will not sustain the level of trust and control i require as an all out aggressive baseliner
@@CH-yp5by I'd give it a shot but out of my price range for strings, i generally keep it around $13USD or less lol, i have too many racquets, i restring too many things and have to buy too many new releases 😁 - if it goes on sale ill grab it and let you know haha
@@ACTennis Good point. It seems getting a bit more weight was necessary for you for these racquets. I wonder what the denser string pattern would do since you said the Vcore helps the flatter hitter.
If youre talking about the ezone, i have a full comparison to it in my individual ezone review - otherwise the other two are relatively different since vcore is more power based, less manoeuvrable and precision and 97 is alot more flexible but much heavier and similar precision
I'm a 3.0~3.5 all-court one-handed backhander looking to add some power and SW from my Ezone 100L/285g. Should I buy a 100sqin/300g racket (which one if Yonex only ?) or just tape lead to my current one until I get close to 4.0?
You could add as much weight as you want tot he 100L one, and could get it to play similar to the regular 100, and save alot of money doing so You could gradually add weight as you feel stronger and more comfortable, over time
@@ACTennis thx for the tip sir. I learned in ur "battle of Yonex 98 sqin" video that ezone requires proper swing plus hand acceleration, and vcore suits spin player. Q1: How can I assess if I have a proper swing+acceleration? Q2: When can/ should I settle on my playstyle, 3.5 or 4.0?
@@valorwgs1740 Honestly probably wouldnt have proper swing and acceleration until around 4.5 kind of level - you just need to focus on timing and technique, not sure if you are having coaching lessons or anything? The playstyle will come naturally, dont need to force it
@@ACTennis I play with a coach 1 hour a week, and I guess I wont be any close to 4.0 before I fix my BMI… i currently tape my Ezone 2018 100L (285g 4pt HL) with 6g at 12 o'clock and 3g at 3&9 each. If u decide that this Ezone is good enough for 3.5-4.0 I'll just put off buying a new one, cause $200 hard earned money is a lot. Any thoughts (or tips with adding lead without messing balance)?
That's more based on preference of the touch and feel + technical ability of someone, all shots work fine for me, someone else might have no connection to the muted feel, so they'll probably say otherwise
@@ACTennis I play with Yonex Ezone 98 (2020). But I'm thinking switch to Yonex Vcore 95 (2021). What do you think about this one? I'm a aggressive baseliner too, seeking winners all time. My shots are flat on hard court.
Unfortunately only tried the Radical Pro over the MP , i've read rad MP is closer to something like an extreme tour, ill have to try it if i can get a demo
If you like the Vcore 2018 and play well with it, should stick to it, it's a very very good racquet - Ezone can do flat and spin, maybe easier to spin , but once you get used to the racquet, then flattening out becomes alot easier - also should use a more powerful string setup, which will help, otherwise the ezone can feel quite alot of control
@@ACTennis i am trying to get a back up racket which isnt as demanding as the vcore sometimes. from what i heard ezone is easier to play with and a bit more power
Can I ask for ur opinion my racket right now is a pure strike 1st gen 98 Sq 18x20 305 grams. And I was looking to replace it with yonex ezone 98 16x19. What do u think?
Question is too simple, need more information to work with, need to understand why you want to switch, what is the purpose, what are you looking for? what is your game style? what level are you etc.
@@ACTennis looking for a new racket because my pure strike is showing the beat down of use. Let me rephrase my question would u recommend a ezone 98 as a replacement for a pure strike? Or what racket would u recommend that can replace a pure strike that is arm friendly?
@@emmanueltorres7794 If you want something that is most similar, then you would just go with the newest version of the Strike 18x20, which the shape of the racquet is mostly the similar but it has the new dampening technology which will make it softer, just need to be a bit careful with the swingweight, which can be kind of high Ezone is a totally different racquet to the Pure Strike, which is why i wanted to know the details of why you want to switch Best bets might be something like Head Boom Pro, Head Speed Pro, or Strike 18x20
@@ACTennis well I guess one of the reason why I wanted to switch was because I was able to demo the new clash 100 and I like it a lot except for the volley needs more effort. So that's when I saw your video on the yonex 98 and that is why I was interested in the racket. Thank u for the time.
@@emmanueltorres7794 Yeah then you liked the Clash 100, then you're looking for a completely new racquet, my suggestions above may be in the same ball park range with some differences - if just a new frame just demo a bunch, there wouldn't be a good answer i think
@@ACTennis thank you for the information, I'm will try out the 97d, I had several blade pros, but wilson QC is somewhat poor, and I had issues finding a matched pair. Wanted to mix it up with yonex.
@@matlew No, the 98 requires you to swing fast to generate power, in other words, better technique and self generated power - if you are worried about power, ezone 100 will give you more power because its thicker and stiffer
@@ACTennis Ok, could you test the Textreme Tour 100 (310). IMO I think its one one of the best racquets they have. I normally play with the 100x 305 but this Textreme is a little more powerful 😄
Not sure what it is but the VCP just feels a bit more clunky compared to the 95, but probably has more top end power, alot more flex, control id say marginally goes to vc95, spin definitely vc95, serve effectiveness is roughly the same for different reasons, but vc95 just feels alot faster i think
For the vcore 98 can you do a hybrid to increase ball pocketing? PT spin in mains and PTP in crosses with crosses being 2 lbs lighter? I know for the Ezone 98 Rudd uses this setup to enhance Spin. Thinking it would also work to enhance pocketing w the PTP.
String choice and tension could definitely affect pocketing, a 50/50 in combination with the racquet For instance, i use T1 Ghostwire as a cross (soft poly) on other polys, and it definitely increases pocketing, so something like PTP could likely do the same (have not experimented this setup yet)
Thanks for watching the video! Comment below and I'll answer any question to the best of my knowledge
- This one was a little messy in terms of clarity and all, tried to fit too much information in one video, but videos done after this are now clearer
Appreciate your support
This is by far the best review video I have ever watched - so thorough and well structured. Congrats and keep up the great work!
Always good to see when someone can find a new racquet that suits them coming from older gen models 😁
This is the best review I’ve seen. Comprehensive, technical, filled with great insights I haven’t seen anywhere else (eg Yonex having great QC on static weights but less so for swing weights), and honest. Subbed!
Thanks Vinay, too kind! appreciate the support
I have probably seen 100 racquet reviews and have never left a comment. Your reviews are amazing and I appreciate the quality and effort.
One of the nicest comments i've ever received, thank you very much!
Haha yes bit strange, maybe someone who demoed it requested their own tension and paid for it separately and it was left there
All Yonex frames has something there for everyone, just a matter of preference and playstyle
Hope all goes well you find the racquet you need
Without a doubt the most comprehensive comparison I've seen
It was a bit messy but it got there haha, thanks Matt
I love my Vcore Pro 310! Perfect platform racket! I added weight to it and it's at 334g strung and just under 8pts HL strung. I used the Prestige Mid, Phantom 97p, and Blade Pro Labs 16x19 before and I'm super happy I switched. Super comfy racket and with a little weight to 3 and 9 and the handle it's extremely stable!!!
I like it alot, i bought it in a larger grip size because i found it for cheaper but id actually play alot better if i could do it in my normal grip - maybe if some funds free up ill get it again properly
How much weight did you add to 3 and 9 and to the handle to counter balance.
Thanks for the feedback, although most viewers prefer me to do it so understand the potentials of the racquet, but my ratings are only based on stock form
But i agree in this video its a little confusing because i had to condense alot of information in a short time so i talked quite fast - so in my more recent videos ive simplified what im saying alot more to make it clear
Dat intro tho 🔥 🔥🔥
Fantastic review as always! With your alternatives to the VCore Pro, were you referring to the new 2022 TF40 or the previous version? Would love a TF40 review!
Thanks - dont really think either version will much of a difference other than launch angle, more about launch angle for me but it was a quality racquet last gen - thinking about one but gotta complete the other stuff first 😊
Excellent comparison video!
Thanks David!
These are the best reviews
Your one hand backhand looked real nice when you were hitting with the vcore 98
In this occasion i wouldnt judge based on clips, all the ezone and pro clips were just me hitting back and forth, i was just putting more effort in when i was playing with the Vcore that day, but there are so many sessions that i dont record because i dont have the HDD space to keep it all, i play better with the Ezone by far
I just need the footage for the video, but what im describing is more relevant than those sessions of recording
Ezone has become one of my rotation racquets for match play, havent added one in a couple years, only needed a swingweight of 321 but ive added a leather grip which made it headlight but higher static weight than i normally play with
The extra weight helps with the stability to offset the lowish swingweight and the racquet is now really quite solid and stable for it's range
Extreme Tour will be similar control levels maybe a little less accessible power but more spin potential, this one you can get it to the 327-330 SW range to play better since it lacks a bit in stock - i choose Ezone over ET because serve is not comparable and i get alot of free points from serve, so Ezone is what i go with
Awesome video - beautiful one-handed backhand btw 👍
Thank you, still trying to improve it, come a long way 😁
Fantastic review, many thanks !
20/10 as usual, man! Keep it up and stay healthy, please! haha
Thanks Matheus! feeling better as of late than i have been in the last 2 years lol, trying to maintain it 😁
Excellent review mate, I played with ezone and just switched to a vcore, cant agree more with how you describe them! Can I just ask you please how much/ where you added weight on the vcore for 324 swingweight? I have been experimenting with adding weight for stability I would like to see how it works for me with 324. Thanks in advance and well done your videos are awesome!
Appreciate it, think it was just 2g at 12, but my swingweight was underspecd at 317, if you get normal quality control it should already be around 324
Fantastic review ,thank you.
Thank you!
Personally i think Speed MP is a better transition racquet to go to if you are moving towards something more advanced from Ezone 100's or Babolats, it does everything well, while still soft and controlled enough with power capabilities - i would normally say Ezone 98 but this year it's more difficult to use than previous years
Strike is a great performer, because it has power, it's a thinner frame than what you use, but not super thin, it can do alot of things well, but would have to be very careful with specs when buying because some easily are over the mark on swingweight rendering it too heavy and not playing the way it should, - it plays very well, it's just that it has a very muted feel which some people might not like at all , and also some people have problems with wrist, elbow or shoulder pain with it - for me i do as well but with the right string setup it's too problematic
Blade is my number 1 racquet normally to move people to player orientated racquets, but the swingweights on V8 are very quite low, youll likely need to add weight, which is troublesome for people who've never done it before, nonetheless really good racquet for what you're looking for
@@ACTennis wow thank you for the detailed response. I will try out these rackets you mentioned. Would the new VCP 100 300g be a good option as well?
@@Nick-pb1fk Yeah VCP 100 should be pretty good aswell

Thanks Ivan for supporting as usual 🥲
great in-depth review! great hitting and video angles as well...really eye-ing up on Yonex for my next sticks as I tend to get bored easily lol...I currently play with a stock Head Radical MP (solinco hyper-g @ 53# 17g) and the only parts of my game that I would like more "free power" on is my backhand (two-handed) as well as serves...I tend to put a lot of action on my forehand and the Radical MP is great in that department.
@@ACTennis appreciate the insight!
Hi mate, yeah i talk fast on purpose since theres too much information, dont want to make it a 50 min video haha , but ive decided to make shorter videos and make things a little more clear that way
Can try something like a Gravity Tour - Vcore 95 is demanding and has good spin with a sharp poly but need to be quite switched on to use it all the time
So again maybe Gravity Tour, Boom Pro, Tecnifibre TF40 16x19, Vcore 97 and Ezone 98 are all solid options
Great review and great hitting! Any plans for a full review of the vcore pro 97D?
@@bigrobsydney sure, can try - just ask here or e-mail on the e-mail in the description

Great review, thanks! Side question - are the videos sped up by like 5-10%? Ball speed/trajectory and body movement seem off.

I mostly buy everything, definitely dont have the spare money to go off and do stuff that are out of the popular models 😅 and our demo programs here are pretty non existent , if i get my channel up enough momentum maybe ill be able to collab with a company to help me in that field 😊
this is a really great video, got my sub
Thanks alot Matt!
The Vcore 98 specs seem perfect but that paintjob is unbearable
Not as bad as previous gen in my opinion lol
Exactly...the paint is the only reason that makes me hesitate😭
Many have no clue the narrower throats like old 85inch heads of the past produce sweeter OHBH and pin point power thanks to narrower throats. If Yonex made the VCore 97 but with 6 string throat like on the Ezone it would be the best OHBH model - even better than the VC95 which somehow still has wider throat than the Ezone 98.
Say hello to the Regna 🙂
Thanks Pedro
If you can, you should try to demo a few racquets - Vcore 98 might be one that has similar power, bit more spin than the Blade 98 v6
Can also try new Solinco Whiteout , which you can hit both spin and flat attacking shots, and it's 305g and easy to swing
Ezone will be a bit more controlled, and flat shots might be a little harder to swing
Ezone 98 is a nice choice, just depends if you like the head shape or not - will have more contrl than the Vcore, so if anything, i would wait for the new Vcores in January to release to see if they improve it, because current model was so-so
Speed Pro would be a good choice as well
@@ACTennis Thanks. I wonder how it will play with so much flex and low SW - maybe higher trajectory and feeling of control .......
very well done. thanks. it helps a lot
Thanks Michele, glad you liked it
I’ve been using the extreme tour and like it but sometimes it may lack some control.
Any Technifibre you would recimmmend?
I’ve demoed dozens of racket in the past two years. As I said I extreme tour but sometimes my game is affected by some unpredictability when I drive with topspin. I use a one handed backhand and have a tender elbow which gets affected if I play with s stiffer racket and poly.
I demoed the vcore pro 100 2019 version and liked it much more than the 97, 330 version. Found the vcore 98 and 100 a bit stiff.
Have you had the chance to try the Vcore 95 2023? I was wondering how it may compare to the VCP 97, both with a couple grams at 12. Thanks!
Excellent Reviews. Can you compare the Ezone and Vcore to the Head Gravity Tour in terms of Control and Power? Many Thanks.
Thanks Steven, I am definitely enjoying the Ezone alot, and got even better when i found my perfect spec setup, usually not one to modify too much either
nice review and great hitting! how do you measure the swing weight?
Theres a machine called a 3 in 1 swingweight machine or a RDC, normally very expensive, some of your local tennis shops may have it
Thank you very much for your high quality reviews. I have a grip size problem, I play with head grips 3, but yonex size 2 small or 3big for you?
It's just a different shape, so it will feel strange , probably feel a little thicker - you can try using a thinner replacement grip like Wilson Feather Thin or Babolat Syntec Team on the size 3, and also use some electric tape or something to build the butt of the racquet to be bigger
or if you go with Grip 2 , find a thicker grip, one with lots of cushioning to make it feel bigger
Would you consider the new ezone 98 as the ultimate weapon for bomb flat serve? :) If not, which racquet would you call it the best serving frame?
Haha really a loaded question, mostly depends on your serve technique and strength , i say Ezone is a great racquet for serving because it works on a wider variety of players and strength levels, so it's versatile in that way
Strike hits huge, Pure Drive hits huge, Aero VS, even Prestige MP, all depends on what you can handle
Variables for a good serving racquet is 1) it's manoeuvrable 2) accurate 3) enough weight to plow through / stiff enough to generate power
Also extended length racquets will serve even better, but then may have an impact on your groundstrokes if you aren't used to it
@@ACTennis Thank you very much for your reply mate! Never tried an extended length... they are pretty rare in Europe
very nice review, i am currently using a vcore98 thinking to change to an Ezone 98 as i am finding it too muted...would the ezone be better in this department or very similar?
It's also muted, but alot more ball pocketing , youll need better technique to utilize ezone effectively if you havent already developed it, because it will likely be lower powered
Thanks for your advice! I am just a 3.0~3.5 low intermediate player whos trying to develop the right technique atm for my shots....i am finding it abit difficult to swing through the ball with my vcore98 atm (lost control often)....any good recommendation for other rackets? I am considering getting a gravity MP would this help? I have a one handed backhand
@@kevinko7057 Personally i woudlnt use vcore 98 around that level, need something more manoeuvrable, Gravity MP a good choice, even some of these racquets have the L version of the exact same model, like the vcore 98L if you want to use this racquet, the weight is what will mess with you and you wont be able to swing fully
I would say Speed MP, but you have to get a speed MP that has a very low swingweight, because this generation they all have very high swingweights which would even make it difficult for me to use effectively - a low one would be one of the best ones to use
I don't really enjoy the feel of Hyper-G, i think performance wise it does very well in terms of spin and durability - the feel is a bit too muted for my liking, and alot of racquets these days are already muted, so it just doubles up
I prefer hyper g soft but it loses tension very very fast
As long as you don't have any arm issues, no reason why you cant use hyper g or some kind of control string to offset the power of the burn
Great review!!! Cant wait for the pure aero vs!!
Hoping to get the Strike VS too
Hi! Nice video!
Could you tell me more specifically what and where did you put weight on the Ezone to get it into 341g (closer to Kyrg setup)
Thanks!
Nothing special, he just adds a leather grip to his, no actual lead, but for current ezone needs maybe 1g to 2g lead at 12 to get to 324 swingweight
Hi, did you change from the Up 16x19? And if that's the case, what racquet you're playing now? Thanks
I never switched to it, i just kept it - always had Gravity Pro, Strike 16x19 and Ezones added
Depends if you want to continue to have control and precision - the Ezone suits a very quick snappy swing, the old vcore pro 97 (assuming you have the last version before Percept) was very flexible and lower powered, didn't give much for free
Ezone gives good spin and power and has some control built in - i think the Vcore 98 suits my swing better though, but more extension and lengthening in my stroke, which i feel the Ezone doesn't like as much
Just tried the Ezone 98 2022, with my current racquet being a Blade 98 V7 18 x 20.
What tension were your strings?
@@naokisonoda-hq Ezone and V7 arent quite comparable , V8 is stiffer feeling and not as comfortable as the V7, and the Ezone is stiffer than the V8 still, i say it's similar plushness but that's not quite the same as outright comfort - firstly VDM hides stiffness so when strings die in the Ezone, all that dampening gets lost and all that hidden shock starts to reveal itself in my experience - and the V7 was one of the softest racquets you could get
Also, the v7 18x20 on average has a 10-15pt swingweight difference to the Ezone, so both vibration wise and power wise, you are relying on alot more heft to generate pace where the Ezone is low powered already in it's light form, but only accessible in super fast swings
And ideally you need to tailweight the Ezone, if it comes in less headlight than advertised because it becomes quite sluggish, which is why Ezone Tour was just not for me at 4pts HL, Blade is still one of the fastest racquets, but if you try V8 which has the same stock SW as ezone, V8 has no ability to generate as big of a ball on serve or groundstrokes
@@naokisonoda-hq Thanks for the support :)
You'd want to look at RA stiffness and also swingweight numbers, the lower the stiffness, like your Blade V7 from memory is about 63, the more swingweight it will require to generate power and spin - the higher the stiffness, and also beamwidth, the lower the swingweight can be for power generation
So say , V7 18x20 (from memory) is on average 63 RA with dampening technology + 325++ swingweight
Ezone is 317 swingweight with dampening tech and 65 stiffness
I think between 65-66 RA and 62-63 RA is actually quite noticeable in terms of comfort, and definitely 317 to 325 swingweight is also very big difference - just remember those swingweight numbers are on average, so your Blade could very well be much higher because the 18x20 all came in higher swingweights, that number is just an average of all TennisWarehouse's stock that was measured at the time
You are probably going to find it hard to get something as comfortable but more powerful than the Blade, only thing i could think of is maybe Gravity Tour, but the balance of that may make it less manoeuvrable, thus lower powered since it's harder to swing (depending on what the swingweight and balance ends up being on the demo)
How our recomendation for a agressive flat hitter and one hand backhand, blade v8, ezone98, vcorepro310 or pure strike vs?
Hi! Head Extreme Tour vs Head Gravity MP? Especially interested in control, spin, forgiveness and launch angle... Adding weight is not a problem
Extreme Tour for spin and control by a good amount, power much less, not that forgiving but more built for high-int to advanced player that moves well, generates lots of racquet head speed
Gravity MP will be higher launch angle, super super forgiving, spin is not bad either but control lacks, not very precise, adding weight to it makes it more powerful than it needs to be but doesnt sustain the power because of it's lack of control
Any news on when the new vcore is coming out? How does it compare with the pure aero vs?
Nothing confirmed, maybe next AO could be potential - i have a video comparison on it
sorry if i'm missing something at the Ezone 98 modifications:
how to go from
330g strung w/ overgrip / 315mm balance / 310 swingweight - stock
to
341g strung w/ leather grip & overgrip / 315mm balance / 321 swingweight - 1g @ 12 ?
For me a leather grip and 1g@ 12 only add 3.5 points of swingweight to the racquet and the balance goes down to 31 mm and not 315 mm.
i would like to test your favorite specs but i could not reach them even though i have a racquet with the same starting mods.
Think i just got mixed up with 2 ezones i had, the first i remember came more underspec, and the 2nd one was a but more regular to the TW specs - but the changes i used were quite minimal and helped just enough to play with it without changing it all too drastically
@@ACTennis Ok, thank you very much!
Nice review. Only tried the new Ezone 98. Like the feel and was very nice to serve with, but found it a bit to powerful. Any tips to get it in more of control mode? Strings and tension? Plays otherwise with Prestige MP.
Probably if you're finding it bit powerful already might not be the one for you lol
What strings and tension?
How would you compare the MSV CoFocus to Yonex PolyTour Pro? I’ve been using PolyTour Pro 125 in my 2020 Ezone 98, but it’s a bit expensive like you said. What’s similar about them and what’s not to similar? Also, did tension do you like to string your rackets at?
Ptp feels more slick from that silicone covering that they use (i think) so itll slide better and keep better durability , MSV has maybe slightly more shape on it just ever so slightly feels a little more sharper but it still feels like a smooth poly
Smooth polys are going to play fairly similar for the most part, id say MSV might have a slightly more crisp feel to it but things like power, comfort spin etc are fairly similar enough to not justify the price of PTP in comparison
@@ACTennis what do you mean by it feels a bit sharper and has slightly more shape? I thought they were both round polys
@@bentong99 You'll understand what i mean if you feel the string itself, maybe it's the silicone coating only
If I hit with topspin what string would you recommend with the vcore pro 97? I’m planning to use hyper g and vsquare.
Very best comparison. Can you suggest customization for Vcore Pro 97 310 2022 because I already use the 330's grams 2022 but it's unpredictable and low in control in High speed shot by is High swing weight. Thanks in advance
For 310, i just try to keep the weight light for myself, because i prefer lighter racquets, so i add as much weight as i can anywhere between 10 & 2 o'clock or 12 o'clock to increase swingweight, without needing much weight
2 grams at 12 o'clock will increase swingweight by about 10, so if your 310 starts around 317 swingweight, +2 grams is 327, then add a little bit to side for stability, 2g each side 3 & 9, will make swingweight around 331
I actually prefer 97D better, it will be better control and more predictable, and i don't need to customize

Hi there, will ezone 98 or vcore 98 fits me better if i would like to transit from a pure drive? which one is more similar to a pure drive? cheers
If you want to keep some more power and all, probably the Vcore 98 this time, but if coming from a Pure Drive, Ezone 100 or Vcore 100 would be better
What about the vcore pro 100 if I’m a topspin player?
Was revisiting this video.. why do you say the Vcore doesn’t suit your game as much as the ezone? You actually hit with a ton of spin and usually hang at the baseline
I'm already an aggressive player by nature, my hitting footage doesnt reflect my tournament play, i just to rally more for the footage, the vcore will not sustain the level of trust and control i require as an all out aggressive baseliner
Will a lower tension give me better spin on the ezone ? How often do you restring yours ? I uses ptp 120
PT lasts longer than some of my spin strings, depends what tension you use, id say spin string would be better since PTP is really smooth

'It' which racquet there are three the video is reviewing?
If youre talking about the ezone, i have a full comparison to it in my individual ezone review - otherwise the other two are relatively different since vcore is more power based, less manoeuvrable and precision and 97 is alot more flexible but much heavier and similar precision

You could add as much weight as you want tot he 100L one, and could get it to play similar to the regular 100, and save alot of money doing so
You could gradually add weight as you feel stronger and more comfortable, over time

i am currently using vcore 95 2018, do you think ezone 98 would fit me? I dont have access to demo. i like to hit flat and am a aggresive baseliner.

Ezone is a totally different racquet to the Pure Strike, which is why i wanted to know the details of why you want to switch
Best bets might be something like Head Boom Pro, Head Speed Pro, or Strike 18x20
Which of these would feel the closest to the Blade Pro 16x19?
Neither of them really, they dont have the swingweight and stability of the Blade Pro, closet would be the 97D version
@@ACTennis i've heard a lot of hype around the 95 vcore, have you compared the newer 95 vcore and the 97d?
@@johtodev Both are good racquets, but for advanced players, suits different styles - lots of good racquets on market, cant really go too wrong
@@ACTennis thank you for the information, I'm will try out the 97d, I had several blade pros, but wilson QC is somewhat poor, and I had issues finding a matched pair. Wanted to mix it up with yonex.
What you think about babolat Pure drive vs?
Have not tried the Pure Drive VS only because i heard it wasn't all that great, but i own the Strike and Aero VS
nice intro
Thanks Ethan! 😁
Hi. Could you make a ezone 100 vs ezone 98 ? Would be soooo helpful !!! Thx. Have a nice weekend. 😊🎾
98 more control, faster through to swing with, not as stable - 100 much more power, stability, less manoeuvrable, both good for serving
Oh sorry I made a mistake in my question : I wanted to say : between a vcore 98 ans an ezone 100. (Thx for your answer anyway)
@@Le-Chuck I would say that similar answer would apply to vcore 98, just vcore will have more spin
Thx a lot
I have new Ezone 98 but i dont feel much power 😐
It's a control racquet with some power, gotta swing faster 😁 otherwise go with Ezone 100 if you want power
@@ACTennis why the Ezone 100 can be faster than 98 ?
@@matlew No, the 98 requires you to swing fast to generate power, in other words, better technique and self generated power - if you are worried about power, ezone 100 will give you more power because its thicker and stiffer
Do you test Prince Racquets?
Not all, i did go through Prince Phantoms 100X , 100P, 97 and 93P - been meaning to try the twistpowers but i need to free up some money lol
@@ACTennis Ok, could you test the Textreme Tour 100 (310). IMO I think its one one of the best racquets they have. I normally play with the 100x 305 but this Textreme is a little more powerful 😄
@@Robust2013 Oh yeah actually i had that one too , but i had the 290 one that Iga Swiatek used, some extra room for customization, also nice racquet
I think AC Tennis is Pro, I have one question for you.
Play any tournament , Can the player use stainless steel string for playing tennis ? Thanks,
Do you actually mean stainless steel for reel? hahah
@@ACTennis Do you try to use stianless steel string for playing tennis?
How would you compare the VCore Pro with the VCore 95? Especially when weighted up to have similar SWs
String choice and tension could definitely affect pocketing, a 50/50 in combination with the racquet
For instance, i use T1 Ghostwire as a cross (soft poly) on other polys, and it definitely increases pocketing, so something like PTP could likely do the same (have not experimented this setup yet)
48 lbs tension!?!? Isn’t that considered very low??
Pretty normal these days, if you use poly string it can still maintain control
Vcore 98 will be more power than ezone
In my opinion that's what i thought yep
the dr 98 was the greatest racquet ever made and yonex discontinued it. but nobody wants to bring that up
Im pretty sure everyone brings that up lol, it was a good racquet but it's always playstyle dependent, it didnt suit me
can't like twice :(
😂 Thanks Glenn
Ezone 2022 is trash. Vcp is more player friendly and vcore 98 has something for everyone.
Not sure how a more user friendly frame can be trash and the more advanced racquet is more player friendly lol..but sure , to each their own
