Agree with most of the comments here, this one is a fantastic video. Answered a lot of my questions. As someone who has the Ezone DR98 I'm quite curious about the Vcore 98.
@@RicardojdVeiga It's easier to hit with more power with the VCORE 98 than the VCORE Pro line (the normal, H, or D, etc.) But the VCORE pro is supposed to have great feel and control, like really good control. The racket is more demanding of you to have a full and faster swing though as well. I am not sure which one is best for me either but you can demo them at a tennis center (if you have one near you) or through tennis warehouse for less than $25 I think...
I’ve liked them all, settled on the Vcore 98 Plus because it gets you to a higher swingweight with a lighter racket. I’m waiting to demo the new Ezone 98 Plus, though the last version felt a little more difficult to control the racket face.
Great video. Can you do one of these for the 100s vcore, ezone and vcore pro. I'm looking to switch from Pure Drive 100 and looking at best option/alternative due to arm pain. Thanks 👍🏻
VCORE PRO is least power of the 3. both the EZONE and VCORE are similar in power levels. the ezone strings are a denser pattern and will give you a flatter launch angle. conversely vcore is more open and gives you higher launch, more spin but can feel launchy compared to denser pattern.
So really, the difference is so minimal that only a advanced player looking to fine tune their game will really benefit on the differences. Other than that, you can’t go wrong on any of them
If you’re considering any of these I would demo the Vcore 95. With the isometric head shape it plays bigger than a 95 and it has great maneuverability without sacrificing spin
Tough choice, 98 much more manouverable, but 100 will help with those tough shots. How do you feel about your own consistency? Play with the 100 for a year and then move to 98.
Very helpful. Ive been using RQiS 1 Tour 95 (320g 16/18) rackets for a long time and finally had a frame crack on me during match play, right across the throat beam. All the added lead caught up to me! Frames are more than a decade old now too. I was looking for what racket would be most similar, and it looks like the Vcore 97 Pro would be a good place to start.
@@neertw I honestly wish I could find a few more RQiS 1 Tours rackets. I’ve never found a superior racket for my game. I love it’s blend of flex (58), the 95 in head, and the stock heft of the frame.

Hi dear Tennis Spin Team! ... first of all: big props for your channel, I'm a big fan since day 1, great content and even better and cool people, keep going ;) 1 question: I've been trying to get my hands on the white ezone 98 2020 Osaka special edition 305g L3 grip I live in Europe, Slovenia and Tennis Warehouse Europe doesn't sell these, and I see you have a full rack of them and it pains me every time I watch your videos haha Do you have any suggestions where I could get one, or, by any chance, could I buy one from you? Thank you for your answer sir, you are awesome !
Friend, what do you recommend to transform this racket into a lethal weapon? I find that it is a controllable racket but at the same time I find that accelerating the racket is not so easy (passing the air). Is it a good option to add some weight to the grip and make it more maneuverable? Or is it better to add weight at 10-2 or 12? I would appreciate your help
You should have also compared string spacing in the middle. The Ezone has a tighter pattern in the middle, allowing more control on flatter shots and better bite on slice than the Vcore
If a tighter pattern resulted in both a better control and better bite, there wouldn’t be any reason for a more open pattern. A more open pattern allows the ball to sink in deeper and increases the contact time. Thus, given the same movement, a more open pattern benefits spin, no matter whether it is backspin (slice) or topspin.
Hi. Thank you for another great review. A quick question. Which of the two, the Vcore Pro 97L and Ezone 98L is most arm-friendly when suffering from a tennis elbow? I am an intermediate player.
Vcore pro I think. I strung my pro 97 hd at 52 and it's much softer than my friends ezone98 at 47. We both agreed and we both have some arm issues. Ezone also has a bigger launch angle, which I don't like. (I'm not sure if that is because of the 18x20 string pattern or just a general difference) Vcore pro does require you to swing harder/better technique, because it has less power. I think dropping my tension considerably to 48/46 will help with that.
Help I bought a yonex 98 they put vokl 17 black cyclone string Racquet feels Horrible can’t get power on serve Volleys are not as crisp Seems I have a bad string ?
I wouldn't ever get rid of a DR98 if you like it. I owned the previous 2020 Ezone 98 and thought it was a bit of a plank - sold; 2022 Ezone supposed to be improved though so perhaps worth a demo. I like the Vcore 98 a lot but it's very, very different to my DR98; Vcore is firmer, faster through the air, more powerful and provides more spin; overall more 'attacking' perhaps. Haven't hit any 97inch Vcore Pros (only the previous generation 100, which was lovely and had some of that soft-solid feel of the DR98 I love with a touch more easy power and spin). hth... demo demo demo!
Honestly the Vcore Pro 97 is amazing for control. You just need to be able to generate your own power. For me, the Ezone 98 2022 makes the balls fly, the Vcore Pro is more controlled and stays in the court.
I tried these three racquets when friends had them to demo at our local park. Although, I liked them and they were fun. I would not give up my RF Prostaff 11.1 or RF97V13 for any of these three. I'd like to try the vcore 95. Harry, aside from the smaller head size, what is the difference between the VCore 95 and my Yonnex 93 sq inch RD Impact Speed 100? Do they have similar frame technology in the head and yoke?
@@flodar1548 Aloha! I did not actually say the RF sticks were better but they did better fit my play style. . Comparatively speaking, the RF97V13 is in a different class by itself due to the heavier weight, much more head lightness, bigger swing wt and stiffer frame. Thus, there is access to more stability, more power, more plow through, controlled launch angle, serve kick ability and top spin due to the 16x19 string pattern. . The Ezone frame felt to big, to unyielding and lacked enough control for me. I didn't like the thicker frame and it's benefits. . The Vcore 98 was a spin monster with shaped string and had a crazy high launch angle. It was fun! Yet, it had less control, lighter plow through and a bit less stable for high power hitting engagements. . The 97 Vcore's tighter 16x20 string pattern did not suit me. But, I did like the way it swings. So, the demo of the three was actually beneficial because it reinforced what I liked in my racquet. But, although I did not fall in love with another racquet. I found a strong like for shaped string which I have not used in my RF97V13 to date. Now, i have the string and cannot wait to use it as a hybrid(Luxilon rough ALU Power, Luxilon Element Rough with Luxilon VIBE). I might have to use a more aggressive shaped string. But, Finding a new wrinkle to exploit is the best part of the demo experiences.😊.
I was wondering when is the best time to order a case of balls for spring usta league. I know tennis balls can go bad. It has been so hard to get balls.
Great post! I have been wondering about these three rackets. I am using the Head Speed Pro (smooth and solid hitting racquet)from Pure Strike 3rd gen (easier for angles and spin) and looking for something in-between, which would you suggest Ezone 98 or Vcore 98? I demoed the new Vcore Pro 100 and it felt solid and awesome, however, it was lacking power on serve.
The 97D 320 might be what you're looking for. It has a 18x20 pattern and I have this and the Speed Pro (2018 version) and they're very similar but the launch angle for the Yonex is flatter with more pace. Same thing for serves.
Just did'n explained one main point, that the denser spacing in the Ezone means more control for flat hitters and less spin and launch angle compared to vcore98. And please learn the name of the racquets you are selling. It's Vcore Pro 97. It's confusing when you call it Vcore 97 Pro, because the Family is Vcore Pro, Vcore and Ezone, and Pro is not one kind of Vcore. 97, 97H, 97D... are in the Vcore Pro line, and not 97 Pro in the Vcore line.
My general understanding is that yonex marketed these racquets like this… Pro: feel/control Vcore: spin Ezone: power Babolat does the same with pure strike, aero, and drive. Wilson also with blade/prostaff, burn, and ultra. Don’t know about Head because they are confusing.
they do not matchup at all. I have played with all yonex and babolat racquets. Yonex doesn't really make power racquets, they are all control racquets with diff variations. Vcore pro is feel, vcore is spin and ezone is flat. the ezone gets mistaken for a power racquet but its honestly not in the 98 version.... 100 version maybe u can call it somewhat of a power racquet.
Gravity = Feel / Control Extreme = Spin/power Prestige = Precision Speed = A mix of Spin, Power and Control (all around racquets)... this is my undestanding from playing with them... not sure where the radical line fits as i never played 1
Doesn't he know that "putting his spin on your tennis" is actually a BAD thing? Not sure about anyone else, but I would want the truth about something, not somebody else's "spin" on something. See enough of that approach in Washington politics.
for those who’s new to his channel….always watch his videos on 1.25x - 1.5x playback speed😂
Or just straight 2x
Thanks! That helps!
Somehow feels normal right away

Hello TENNIS SPIN ! are you going to make a review of the new Tecnifibre TF40 315 (16X19) 2022 ? many people can not believe the low swingweight ...
Can you do one for the Ezone 100 vs VCore 100 vs VCP 100 too please?
So really, the difference is so minimal that only a advanced player looking to fine tune their game will really benefit on the differences. Other than that, you can’t go wrong on any of them
Gosh I have been asking the "Ezone 98 or Vcore 98" question for the past few weeks. Then this video comes out...
This has been on my mind for the last 2 days! How did you know?!?!
If you’re considering any of these I would demo the Vcore 95. With the isometric head shape it plays bigger than a 95 and it has great maneuverability without sacrificing spin
But, it has a thicker beam
Hey Harry, how can I choose between EZONE 98 and EZONE 100?
Tough choice, 98 much more manouverable, but 100 will help with those tough shots. How do you feel about your own consistency? Play with the 100 for a year and then move to 98.
Vcore pro 97h works for me well. Played the ezone 100 and the former vcore 100.
The RQIS1 Tour is THE best feeling Yonex I've ever played/owned. Bar none.
@@neertw I honestly wish I could find a few more RQiS 1 Tours rackets. I’ve never found a superior racket for my game. I love it’s blend of flex (58), the 95 in head, and the stock heft of the frame.
I have used kblade tours for forever and now am switching to the yonex vcore 97h. been demoing it and loving it. Chose it based on similar specs aside from a larger 97sqin head, which I need due to not being quite as good as I was back in the day.
Helloz nice video!
How do you compare the Vcore 95 to these 3 rackets?
I really want to see a comparison video about Vcore 100 vs. Vcore pro 100.
any chance you could do a comparison between the vcore pro 97 and the vcore 95?
Great Job!
m a d3 college tennis player, and I use a vcore pro 97... and occasionally when they are being strung i have 3 back up vcore tour g 97s. Anyways a friend of mine has a ezone 98 for sale... and im curious if this racquet will be a good fit for me. I hit hard with lots of topspin. do you think this frame would be good for me. I can always add some lead tape to it as well if needed
Hi dear Tennis Spin Team!
... first of all: big props for your channel, I'm a big fan since day 1, great content and even better and cool people, keep going ;)
1 question: I've been trying to get my hands on the white ezone 98 2020 Osaka special edition 305g L3 grip
I live in Europe, Slovenia and Tennis Warehouse Europe doesn't sell these, and I see you have a full rack of them and it pains me every time I watch your videos haha
Do you have any suggestions where I could get one, or, by any chance, could I buy one from you?
Thank you for your answer sir, you are awesome !
Friend, what do you recommend to transform this racket into a lethal weapon? I find that it is a controllable racket but at the same time I find that accelerating the racket is not so easy (passing the air). Is it a good option to add some weight to the grip and make it more maneuverable? Or is it better to add weight at 10-2 or 12? I would appreciate your help
Ynoex is getting better and better. I think it will be the top 1 brand.
Head has a wider range with high quality if you ask me. But yes, Yonex is getting better and better.
Did I hear a cat right around 5:30 minutes in?
You should have also compared string spacing in the middle. The Ezone has a tighter pattern in the middle, allowing more control on flatter shots and better bite on slice than the Vcore
If a tighter pattern resulted in both a better control and better bite, there wouldn’t be any reason for a more open pattern. A more open pattern allows the ball to sink in deeper and increases the contact time. Thus, given the same movement, a more open pattern benefits spin, no matter whether it is backspin (slice) or topspin.
Which of the three (or a different one) would you recommend for a beginner?
Demoed the entire Yonex line recently before deciding on the new blade. Wanted to like them but they have ZERO FEEL, especially the vcore 98
Do you spec it up with lead?
97 Pro is pretty good, at least compared with the Blade 98 8 gen that seemed like a muted baseliner's racket.
2:52 They look like pure drive, pure aero and pure strike.
Maybe but the feel is much different.
What’s the name of the company (companies) that will change the paint jobs of racquets?
Help
I bought a yonex 98 they put vokl 17 black cyclone string Racquet feels
Horrible can’t get power on serve
Volleys are not as crisp
Seems I have a bad string ?
Would you change a Yonex Ezone DR 98 for some Ezone 98, Vcore 98, VcorePro 97?
@@rich.e That's my question! I'm thinking of the Vcore Pro 97D but I have doubts, I like the Vcore 98 but is it worth changing the DR98?
@@RicardojdVeiga only you can know for sure, brother!
the Vcore 98 and DR98 and very different beasts.
Harry, is Vcore Pro the most arm friendly of the 3? Thank you
Yes it is
Please do the same vid for the yonex 100s! 🙏
Demoed both. Vcore is plusher, feels good in the hand and Ezone is harsh.
Vcore 98 is more crisp, but ezone 98 gives you free power. All great racquets. I am 3.5
Why did you say you are not good enough anymore to play with the Vcore Pro? What about it makes it harder than the other two to use effectively?
Honestly the Vcore Pro 97 is amazing for control. You just need to be able to generate your own power. For me, the Ezone 98 2022 makes the balls fly, the Vcore Pro is more controlled and stays in the court.
How do these compare to the RDS 001?
and, what difference of vcore 98 plus vs ezone 98 plus?
I tried these three racquets when friends had them to demo at our local park. Although, I liked them and they were fun. I would not give up my RF Prostaff 11.1 or RF97V13 for any of these three. I'd like to try the vcore 95.
Harry, aside from the smaller head size, what is the difference between the VCore 95 and my Yonnex 93 sq inch RD Impact Speed 100? Do they have similar frame technology in the head and yoke?
why is prostaff better in your opinion?
@@flodar1548
Aloha!
I have got Vcore 98 and Ezone 98. Vcore 98 suits better for me.
What was the deciding factor, I'm currently demoing the VC98 and was thinking I might try the EZ98 before I settle on the VC98.
V core 98+ how is this different than 98? And do you have a video on V core 98 vs V core 97
I was wondering when is the best time to order a case of balls for spring usta league. I know tennis balls can go bad. It has been so hard to get balls.
Try Wilson Triniti. Lasts forever.
U might need to keep that coffee mug full. When u keep it back down one can hear that those coffee cups are empty 😉
What racquet hits the heaviest ball?
What is the grammar for several yonex frames
I thought the EZONE has better power than the VCORE? I am a little confused...
Ezone 98 still the best
Which racket has more control,
the ezone 98 or the vcore 98?
Vcore felt more precise to me, but I like the free power of the ezone.
VCore all day
Just did'n explained one main point, that the denser spacing in the Ezone means more control for flat hitters and less spin and launch angle compared to vcore98.
I am more confused...
My general understanding is that yonex marketed these racquets like this…
Pro: feel/control
Vcore: spin
Ezone: power
Babolat does the same with pure strike, aero, and drive.
He does live in Washington.....
If spin= perspective that's useful.
Never a Yonex fan
You're missing out.
