Hi Sierra! I love your channel. I'm from Florida, not native. My grandparents lived in Clarkdale AZ in the 1960's and 1970s. They were not native but most of their friends were Navajo and Hopi. I have special memories going on the Navajo reservation with them as a little kid in late 70's.

I’m from the Pueblo of Santa Ana, located 25 miles north from Albuquerque. Our annual feast day is July 26 of every year, I welcome you to come and see the beautiful dances as well as eat some authentic traditional food.
Sierra Johnson You are more than welcome to come! We have a second village, about 10 miles west from Bernalillo. That’s where the dances take place. You are more then welcome to come the day before, July 25 for St. James Day. We throw from the houses and feed. Then of course our annual feast day the next day.
Greetings from Coahuila Mexico,i am germany born but living half of my live here , know very well your state. keep on with your blogs like them, excelente trabajo mujer
Hey girl!!! I’m Navajo. Born and raised in Phoenix, AZ and currently living in Glendale, AZ. Thanks for sharing your experience with Gathering of Nations. I’ve never been, but hope to go next year.
Thank you Sierra. What a great video. I've never been to a gathering of the nations. So colorful. Wish I were there! How often are these gatherings held? Live in Florida. Ancestry, Canary Islands by way of Cuba and Mexico.
Hi! I'm Diné from Gallup/Albuquerque NM but now watching in Sacramento CA. Just found your channel and loving it! Missing home! Pino cameo was awesome 😁
Great vlog girl, I’m full blooded Navajo from Tuba City born and raised!!! Goooooo Warriors!! I wish I made to this again.. I have only been there once and I loved it.... one year I shall go again.... great video again.... where’s the part you be looking for a hubby on the dance floor lol
Girl!! RIGHT! I should've been on the prowl there. lol. Guess I will just have to find me a hubby next year. ;) Thanks for watching and for your support.
Anishinabeg (Ojibwe), Northern and Central Wisconsin, now residing in Alaska. Ohwa! (Thumb’s up) Gathering of First Nations - 1st time for me too! Let’s go! Thanks for the journey. Great work! Siri - Love your jacket; it’s definitely your color too. First time seeing Griz, we’ll have to look him up and check him out as well. Nice vocals and great message at the end. Do you know where the dancers were from with the long feathers? One of the countries in South America? I saw the Grand Entry a few days ago, amazing! Love all of beautiful regalia. Was able to watch parts of the Miss. World? Seventeen final contestants and all were tough competition. Loved Miss. Congeniality and the final winner from the Seminole Tribe. All of the Ladies represented well. The videos are on You Tube. Thank you for sharing your journey and allowing us to join. Stay smiling and be well, Ma’iingankwe
Thank you so much for watching from Alaska, I always wanted to go there. Someday. :) I believe those dancers with the long feathers are Aztec Fire Dancers from Mexico, they are called In Tlanextli Tlacopan.
Sierra Johnson, Oh my gosh, you’re right, they are from Mexico, I can’t believe I’d forgotten that. Thanks for calming my my mind, it was driving me nuts for a few minutes. Always welcome to our beautiful and majestic state of Alaska. If you do visit, make sure it is for a lot longer than two weeks. It is never enough time and there is just so much to see and do. Our tourists are slowly starting to come in. They will be hitting pretty hard by the end of May till at least August. Hopefully, they and us will have a nice, hot summer. Yes, it gets hot here, at least for us. We’ve hit a 100F and a few years ago it was 90F for more than a week in the Interior of our state. Bring lots of layers cause one day it will be cold and the next, bright sunshine and a lot warmer weather. We look forward to having you one day. Be well and stay smiling, Miigwetch (thank you), Ma’iingankwe
Awesome! Thank s for the information. When I do get the chance to go, I would like to stay with a Native family. That has always been a dream of mine. :)
Sierra Johnson, There are many Athabaskan and Eskimo families in their own villages and larger towns. We even have our annual Pow-Wow in the Interior every summer. Take a look at their annual Olympics, It’s called The World Eskimo Olympics. They have some really unique competitions that take a great deal of skill and balance. It was always held in Fairbanks, but there was talk of taking it to Anchorage. I’m not sure if it’s true or not. It’s been in Fairbanks forever, so I don’t know why they’d change it. I’d sponsor you, but I’m only one, and my family is back in Wisconsin. I’d think you’d much prefer People who have been here for centuries and know more of their culture in this beautiful land. I’m pretty sure that is what you’re looking for. Who knows, if you ever get up to the Interior and I’m still here, we can hook up, and I can help with Anishinabeg. 😊 Stay smiling, Ma’iingankwe
I am Cahuilla, still learning about my heritag and in love with it! I've been to the gathering of nations in 2016 and loved it. I'm from California. If you could say where you stayed looks nice, we have family in Albuquerque but don't like to impose. Thanks
