- No bees to work as we enter into winter here in Louisiana, but we still have things we do, and one of them is to get over to the market and move some of this golden goodness. We have a little market we've been going to for years now and I'd like to give you a quick tour. Let's take a quick walk through the market.

Thanks for joining me in my bee yard here in Louisiana as I share how I maintain my beehives. My videos are not meant to be 'How To' videos, but simply me sharing my experiences in beekeeping as I learned it from my mentors, teachers, and studies.

Hey that market shows the community rocks and rolls
Yes indeed. Thanks!!
That's so funny you have the same sign now Mike. I saw it and was like wow that's the same sign as ours. I LOVE IT and hope you do as well. Thank you for the shout out " Worlds Famous Mike Barry " it means a lot. ~~~~ Now you need to make a sign the says - " Barry's Best Honey " Hand Poured with Love by the World Famous Mike Barry !
Well, I appreciate you sharing with me where to get it. Had a young college kid riding by in his friend's truck and he stared as he went by and then hollered for his friend to stop. The guy jumps out and runs over and said he was glad he saw the sign because he needed some honey and was so grateful to be able to get it right then anfd there. The sign did it.
It does get peoples attention I don't know how many times people walked up as they were saying MMMM Local Honey :) @@MikeBarryBees
Very nice sir
Another interesting video Mike. I need a sign like yours. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching Jim!!
Good stuff Mike. . I've enjoyed the markets this year. Met some good people. Looks like that market is a good one.
Thanks Brian. And definitely, the market really allow you to meet a lot of folks and get your brand to the public.
Cute little market:)
Thanks!!
I'm Mike and I'm not doing bees. LOL Hope you did good. Reminds me of our little markets around here. Don't get rich but have fun visiting folks and selling a little honey. Have a good weekend. See you at NAHBE.
Did pretty well today Russell. Slow and steady. See you soon my friend!
Thanks 4 sharing with us 😊
My pleasure 😊
It's awesome to see communities coming together and helping folks out by purchasing local products.
We enjoyed it 🌍 Famous Mike Berry, Thank ya much for sharing and God bless!
Thanks Tim and glad you enjoyed it!!
Mug up to all the local vendors everywhere, thanks for bringing such great products to your neighbors. Thanks Mike, for posting and have a wonderful holiday season, peace and love
You're welcome and thanks as always for your continued support Brice!!
Would have been great to stop by and see this wonderful market!
James you were only a couple hours from our area at one point.
Next time! Or maybe when I'm up there one day. I was pretty far from you in Thunder Bay last summer, but hopefully I'' make it west eventually.
Merry Christmas Mike. Thanks for all the info and get vids. Keep on rockin brother!
Thanks, you too!
Mike I bought out a retiring beekeeper who had 2 farmer's markets (largest in our state)he and his wife went to , they built quite the customer base, this was my 1st experience at markets. I started late May and still going strong! Love rhe people I have met, and have already started forming relationships with the regulars. It has been an amazing experience!
That's great Paul! And really, it's such a great way to really help us grow and allow us to educate folks on what we do and what it means to buy local honey.
Awesome market Mike!! Thanks!
Thanks Rodney!
Thanks Mike , home town markets are great , thanks for sharing!
Yes they are!
Mike - Loved seeing your market!!
Thanks!!
One day I hope to be able to work some markets
They can be a chore at times when you're trying to build and make the commitment to go all the time, but in the end, they pay off in who you meet and how you get your product to market.
@@MikeBarryBees I used to work flea markets years ago when they were the thing I enjoyed it. Met a lot of people. But around here they have died off and aren’t what they used to be. See ya at NAHBE
I love taking my honey to local Farmers market to share with the public.
Yep and as most beekeepers, we always love to talk about the bees.
This goes to show that one doesn't need to attend world famous events to become world famous. 🙂
LOL!!! Funny stuff right there! Thanks!!
Thanks for the tour. Very refreshing!
You're welcome and thanks for watching!!
Looks great Mike. The work never ends!
Thanks Bruce and yes indeed!!
The drone is a nice touch. Ive been doing a great market every other week since August. Its a great money maker/honey mover but it sure cuts into beekeeping and equipment building time. Nothing has done more to get my name out though. Im out of Spring honey so im thinking of stopping my market until July. My favorite part of the market is getting people to try the Spring and fall honeys from my two locations and talking about the differences. I need to carry over some fall honey to be able to do that next summer.
Well Phillip, I have a deal with my wife. During bee season, and honestly even in the off season for the most part, she does the markets and I do the bees and everything that goes along with it. She helps with extracting here and there, but I don’t have to deal with the market but maybe a half dozen times a year. I have to do one more next week and then she’s back at it for us. She has no interest in beekeeping at all and if not for helping out Dirtrooster in his booth at the expo, she’d be out running the roads sightseeing rather than be at the expo😁😁. And I’m great with the setup. Her selling at the market helps us out tremendously and her being the face of Barry’s Best is a much better look than my mug😂😂. One suggestion I have is maybe see can you find a teen or someone that would stand in for you during the spring when you’re busy and give them a small cut per bottle that’s sold. You keep the clientele satisfied and doesn’t cost you too much you keep the sales running and the brand presence out there.
Good tips Mike, thanks. My daughter helps me at the market most weekends. She does a good job selling but we are still working on her taking control of getting the product ready, loading the truck, etc. She did call me today to ask me about stuff she needed to do to get ready for the weekend so that is definitely a step in the right direction. I use a 10 x 10 tent that is somewhat difficult to put up by one person but is doable. The real test will be if she is able to do a market by herself one day.@@MikeBarryBees
What a lovely setup.
Thank you!!
Merry Christmas Mike, love the sign. Where can I order one? Learned a lot from you.
Same to you!! You can find it on Amazon. Just search local honey banner and it and others should come up.
Thanks Mike. You’re the best.
That looks like a great little market, Mike! All the best!
Thanks, you too Brad!!
Did you get a drone?
No, that's Joey's first one. I keep trying to give it back but he tells me to keep it longer and keep playing with it.😁😁
@@MikeBarryBees It has good video.
can you share link for sign?
I got it on Amazon. Search Local Honey Banner and it should come up. Really gets people's attention.
How many gallons did you get this year.?
Only did about 130 this season, but I'm especially grateful with that since it was such how rough season with the tallow being knocked out.
@@MikeBarryBees
Thanks

I got it on Amazon. Search ‘local honey banner’ and it should come up.
