Greg, I'm a beginner in paragliding and I love to get a slice of your experience, eagerly looking forward to every video. But honestly, the reason why I keep coming back is your storytelling - a skill that you really mastered. I love the real time and following your process of thinking. It makes your lessons exceptionally relatable.
yes it's a truly unique feeling where everything that is impossible becomes possible what a wonderful sport we do each new day brings me this emotion that leads me to cry with joy when the trip is there! thank you
It's really good to see the data on your video and actually feel that rate of climb in the thermal...a good 2m upwards per second over one 40 second period. I'm a windsurfer and there's definitely a parallel with having to work to get upwind in that sport and working to get altitude in paragliding, as being upwind gives you choice in windsurfing and having altitude in paragliding gives you choice. Atm I'm feeding a desire to get into paragliding for all those days when the wind is not blowing...always wanted to fly
Nice one Greg! Where were you flying, may I ask? I used to fly an Apco Spectra in Zimbabwe 30 years ago, even made a 60k XC once. Nowadays I'm flying F5J RC gliders competitively.
Hey greg. I saw when you flying your weightless you have mount a extra line to the the mainstrap. Does this make the harness more stable? or where exactly did you attach it? Greetings
@@misterpicker5563 Cmon, this is an instructional video and he recorded the vario likely deliberately loud for the benefit of those wanting to learn how to center a thermal with the help of the Vario tone. You may fly without a Vario but that is not how beginners learn it and franky, if you fly much flatlands it is not a clever choice. Be high up and you do not know if you're centering -0.5 or +0.5. @FlyWithGreg gutsy move to commit to find the thermal over the village. Often what it takes on North facing hills, not what the beginners usually do. 😉
@@JohnnyByeYm I start with the screen turned off because I'm close to terrain, and when I'm high I use the visual vario only, no beep. Much nicer experience.

Hey Greg! I'm a PPG pilot from the US and this video has given me a new confidence in thermaling! Thank you for putting out quality content!
Love these unedited lengthy videos. They really show you what to expect and that it can be done.
thanks for the real time. it is wild how many paragliding videos get sped up on the internet.

It’s an airdesign volt 5
@@GoldFlys Thanks, but where, not what. :)
Great greg! What do you use to get the flight biometrics overlaid in video?
what are your thoughts on tucker gott's friend's most recent crash and tips on avoiding?

British xc looks difficult 😮
Look like the volt 5 is now your favorite wing 😂

Great video, i can only assume the downvote was from that bug that you ate :D or maybe the seagull
the golden question, where's the Omega? ehehe
i like your videos greg, but is there anything you can do to make the vario a little less loud?
I agree. Very beepy. I fly without one, much nicer experience.

I have to wonder if a Witherspoons gift certificate or two might open up some permission to land bellow the hill?
And the seagull immediately heads for your car...
The beeping is too loud. I couldn't hear what you were saying because my wife kept telling me to turn the volume down
Maybe use some headphones :p
Come on, it is the most beautiful music😌 one can imagine😉
