- A cold, but rewarding day, which ended prematurely as the snow began to fall around 3pm.
The glamorous, but very expensive Flying Scotsman returned to action in this special event in black undercoat alongside the glamorous City of Wells 34092 in "Golden Arrow" regalia (shame about the blue coaches) and the newly restored LMS Crab 42765
(13065) in LMS Crimson Lake livery.
34092 at Summerseat and Irwell Vale; 103 / 502 Flying Scotsman at Heywood and Irwell Vale; 13065 at Ewood Bridge (twice).
Wonderful frosty scenes with atmospheric lighting. Gave me the sniffles just watching! I admire your dedication. Thanks.
+Geoff May Thanks. My favourite conditions, as long as the roads are fit to get to the railways! I enjoy being out and about on crisp sharp mornings.
Quite the nice beginning, Mike; thank you for braving the cold to bring us this fine video. I'm in the States, but do enjoy seeing the fine vintage railways across the pond. -Steve

Thanks Steve, It was rather cold, but not nearly as cold as it gets in the States. The feeling in my feet is gradually coming back now! We are very lucky with our preserved lines over here, all rescued by enthusiasts who refused to let the memories of their childhood die.
I definitely think 34092 and the Crab stole the show! Fantastic lighting in the first two shots.
+AndreiTupolev Scotsman was facing downhill and there were very few places to film her working. In contrast the other two were facing uphill. The lighting was a joy to behold!
A cold winter's day, lots of smoke and steam make for a very atmospheric video. Just great to see the Flying Scotsman back in action at long last.
+Keith Tucker My favourite conditions. Let us hope Scotsman repays all the faith put in her restoration.
Superb footage, the cold really made for great atmosphere. Thanks for sharing, Jack

Thanks Jack, cold conditions on the specific days of railway events seem rare these days, so I was very grateful for this opportunity, Mike
An awesome atmospheric video..really enjoyed it. Loved the clip of 'City of Wells' @ 1:24...Cheers...Steve.-:)
+Steve Lewis Video Channel. Thanks Steve. I think City of Wells stole the show from Scotsman which was facing downhill which made it hopeless to find decent locations to film the new arrival.
