Rob will be much more consistent at the nba level. But in terms of play style yeah, very similar. Bones has landed in the worst possible situation for himself everywhere hes gone, so Its hard to know if he would have shaped differently if he was drafted to a better situation where he got to develop. I think the same will be said for rob, if he goes to the wrong place he could be bones, the right place he could be garland/maxey. In between a Lou will/malik monk type role.
@butterbean2257 On paper, I think the fit is excellent, mike Conley is the perfect guard to mentor rob, another small skinny frame guard. being drafted to a contender, in some ways the pressure is greater but in others its less. He will be a spark plug off the bench, but if he comes out and looks terrible it could quickly end up like bones on the nuggets where he got buried in the depth chart and forgotten about. The wolves defense is so good tho, alot of robs deficiencys will be covered so I do think he will fit well tho, the scoring will translate, however I think his stats will be CONSIDERABLY less than if he went to a bad team. But for his development, I think its a great spot for him. And with Conley retiring in the next year or two, hopefully he has 1-2 years to learn to be an elite passer like conley, and eventually be the long term pg for the wolves.
@butterbean2257 yes i think he fits 2 needs on the wolves, scoring and ballhandling, the fact he can catch in shoot makes him more dangerous with or without the rock.
Not a coincidence he dropped almost 40 against a fully healthy Suns team with like him and a 65 yr old, corner specialist, PJTucker😅😭
deadass rob dillingham if he was in the league
Lowkey just thinking about that
he about to be too
