Hi chef.... Hope you and your family are well and safe during these difficult times. I feel silly asking you this right now but cooking has been a refuge for me since last year. I've had two attempts at these gulab jamuns and I can't say the results have been very successful. Attempt 1: the outside was a little hard. Only nice when eaten warmed up. I think that was because I overfried them. Attempt 2: better than attempt 1 but they are still hard when they are cool.
Fried for 11 minutes because I was trying to get them brown. At 10 minutes the colour was too light. I'm using full fat powdered milk so didn't add the shortening. Any thoughts on where I might be going wrong?
Vaahrehvaah, this program is wonderful and so motivative. Why because it motivates me to prepare different dishes for my dear once and I will try to do so often.
I like your recipies. very nice taste and easy to do.
naan video to make at home is already there

*kurma (a trinidadian-east indian sweet/dessert that's long or short, thin and crunchy but almost similar in ingredients and preparation to gulab jamun recipe).
btw, there's a trinidadian cook in canada who has a youtube recipe for kurma. his name is chris de la rosa and his youtube name is caribbeanpot. if you like, you can check him/it (kurma recipe) out.
Great recipes..I love Indian foods..
Happy Anniversary to your parents
thank u very much chef for this superb recipe coz here i m not able to get khoya..
Hi Chef, I love all the recipes you share and learnt how to make many dishes from you! Thank you so much!!
I had one question, instead of using shortening, can we use double cream to make the gulab jamun mix? Thanks :)
can i use unsalted butter instead of dalda...plz reply
@sona245 khoya doesnt hv any english word, but its almost same as ricotta cheese, i hv no idea whether it ll work with indian sweets but thats its closest substitute..
maida is just plain flour or all purpose flour..u can easily get from anywhere..its called plain flour everywhere
Good job telling how to replace khoya with fat free powder milk.
amazing, tank you for the details, it could'nt be easier than this!
Thank you chef. I will try it out today
