it's not at all a ridiculous video, it confirmed what I hoped to achieve with this Rodecaster ( my Pro 2 just arrived today). Although I won't be doing this with multiple mics (maybe sometimes 1 for my acoustic instruments), but I have several keyboards and an electronic drum set I will be connecting via a mixer. Playing them on my own, I won't be using more than 2 keyboards at the same time (only 2 hands, what a shame) so I won't be getting the cacophony you had. For me, it's all about having everything connected and ready to use at all times, and that's what you showed is possible.
I connected a Zoom F8n using a TXF-8 cable set to the Rodecaster adding 6 more xlr options. Just used the Rodecaster Channels as a master volume for the F8n and works a treat.

This brought back memories of my first band with a 4 track cassette recorder, a mixer and ping pong bouncing the tracks to make it sound as big and best we could. Great video!
Thanks, great video. I bought the Scarlett 2i2 on your advice. The downside of linking the Scarlett to your laptop and then to the Rodecaster is the delay you'll have on your headphones. And also you can't use the multitrack recording. So you'll have to record on SD and then transfer it to your laptop. I found out that you can also use the monitoring outputs of the Scarlett to add a fifth microphone to your Rodecaster. Use a 1x 3.5mm -> 2x 6.35mm splitter cable and connect your scarlett to the mini jack input for smartphones. In that way you avoid the delay on the headphones and you can use multitrack recording on your laptop.
If the situation called for it -it could be cool to use the fact that the Scarlett separates the mics onto L and R. It would allow to create a ‘space’. As if the people on mics were in a room and you could place them in the space.
WOW, that Wireless Go sounds good! I have three sets of those swirling around in my organization. I uses two pretty regularly as wireless lavs. I need to get one of those faux-newscaster holders for them so we can use them as wireless handheld mics. They sound so good; you'd never guess they were just that little wireless transmitter with a built in mic on it!
Hey Tom, I just wanted to say that I recently found your videos and you helped me decide on purchasing the rodecaster pro! Your content is incredible and I look forward to watching your videos!
Have you ever tried to put two roadcaster pros on one computer? I have two and I'm thinking about trying it out for desktop audio and or zoom calls so there doesn't need to be a mix minus setting when putting one on input and one on output and for the desktop recordings as well. But I think you can do this with scarlet as well, however when I listened really closely the other day when trying the scarlet doesn't sound near as good
@@tombuck yeah I'm just trying to figure out the best way to share audio and screen content without messing with mix minus because I don't really like even thinking about that looping back being a possibility, do you always just change the mix minus back off when you want to share the audio on your screen? This experiment you did here is bad ass by the way props!
The Scarlett could definitely be an awesome option for that. I just like all the inputs and built-in recording of the RCP, so that's a big reason why it's usually my go-to.
Woah!!! Sir Tom. You beat me to it again.. just did this last Sunday.. and we had a lot of troubleshooting and seeing what you did here now!! I'm glad you had done it too and have recorded it. Thank you again for this great video! I'm beginning to want to make videos too someday :)

I think the biggest factor here is probably the Cloudlifter. I keep the gain at 35db with the channel’s fader around halfway and it works pretty well 👍

Just on the point of the Head phone AMPS being Noisy, I have conducted my own tests and have concluded it is actually the Microphone Pre Amps that are Noisy.. If you listen to a Mic fader without a Mic connected you will hear the noise. close that fader and the noise goes. Hi Tom - I know you use Rode VideoMic NTG sometimes. Do you run this through the Rodecaster Pro also? If so, how do you connect to it? Would also appreciate any recommendation on processing settings that you use for this shotgun. Am a big fan of your channel. Thanks.
Thanks Andy! When I use the Videomic, I run it straight into my camera, but you could connect it to the smartphone channel. As for processing a shotgun, I sometimes use Audition's DeReverb option to reduce some echo, but that's usually about it.
@@tombuck Thanks for your quick response. Hmmm, now I'm thinking purchasing a Rodecaster Pro may have been an overkill for me. I only have one XLR mic. LOL I guess I'll need to buy more to justify my Rodecaster purchase.
Awesome for making this video. I wanted to know the same thing!I was wondering if you could hook up to rodecaster pro together and maybe not have all the issues
If I were to connect another Rodecaster, I’d use the monitor outputs on one into the XLR channel of another, so you’d need a 1/4inch to XLR Y cable (two 1/4 inch in one end for the monitors and a male XLR on the other).
@@tombuck thank you love the channel. I just bought a roadcaster. What do you think the best bet is to use?if you wanted to use eight Mics without the problems that you had
Hi Tom I believe on Windows you can only have one interface active. ASIO is only capable of supporting a maximum of one audio interface for input and output at any one time. I could be wrong but I was never successful getting two interfaces working at the same time on Windows. :)
Omg, can you say microphone overdose!!!!!!!! Funny as hell, but very helpful none the less. Your creativity is amazing and greatly appreciated !!!!!!!!! GREAT VIDEO
Sir, I have one question: Roadcaster could be accompanying me to have a cool voice for my song cover? And probably could it help me to raise my tonality as to go to higher key result ( meaning doing voice into transposed one to higher or a lower key? See you around, right here watching from ROMA con AMOR!
I did this with my MGX12U to the Rodecaster, and it was great, because I could use the Rodecaster's processing on all microphones at once. The only downside is, I spent money on microphones I didn't need. 😆 I just love switching microphones, I guess I'm sort of a collector.
It'd be kind of the same thing I showed here. The best thing to do would probably take the Monitor outputs of one RCP and run it into one of the channels of another. It'll take some speciality cables or adapters, but it's doable.
@Tom do you think it's possible to add another input using the smartphone input? I mix/produce a podcast where I'm not a presenter, but I would like to be able to quickly talk to all 4 guests without them taking off their headphones and ruining the flow of the conversations. The Rodecaster Pro has a TRRS "input" but actually its acting as a headphones/mic headset for a phone, so really its an "output" for a phone. Therefore, if we invert the connection, (sort of like TRRS to SRRT) perhaps we could add another input? Keen to know your thoughts. To my knowledge/basic research nothing like this exists off-the-shelf...
@@tombuck thanks for the reply! But I’m assuming they were all ‘devices’? Mac, iPad, phone etc. and it uses the Rodecaster as headset for those devices. I essentially want to hookup just a mic, could even use a phone headset. I think I’ve got to make up a special cable and test this. Will let you know how I go.
Curious about the same thing….just need a 5th for preshow communication…I’ve seen XLR to 3.5mm TRS cables out there, but idk. -I assume XLR combiners/splitters are suicide?
Hi Tom what you did at 3:46 with garageband. with scarlett and rodecasterpro. I would like to do the same in obs with Roland VR 1hD and rodecaster pro. Like that I could use sound effects from both Roland and rodecaster. DO you link the same like in garageband input1 and 2 ? How would you do that in OBS please ? Thanks for the video. I have PodMic with the Rodecaster Pro and One mic on the Roland VR 1HD
Tom, great fun (and educational too). I've got my PC (surface pro 6) connected to the rodecaster via USB. I know that the sound from my PC arrives at the Rodecaster because I can hear them, but then those sounds cannot be heard via zoom. All the other channels in rodecaster can be heard on zoom. Any ideas as to why this could be happening?
Reminds me of the Frankenstein PAs we patched together for high school assemblies so our band could play. Spinal Tap misadventures in sound. :) thanks for bringing back the memories.
This man is an unstoppable force, next video he is gonna connect a Rodecaster Pro to a Rodecaster Pro just to see if it will satisfy his insatiable mad scientist ways. DOG BARK TYPE BEAT is definitely your magnum opus btw.
How many headphones inputs can you use? Thinking of adding 2 dslr connection to start making a video podcast. But i also don’t want to loose 2 inputs for headphones for my guests either
Perfect, I would definitely do this too. Why? Because I like to make use of what equipment I have at hand just to know I can make it happen in a pinch. Besides it's fun to experiment.
@@tombuck lol I was thinking really hard about this but then the next video I watched they literally just plugged in a h6 directly to the back adding 4 more inputs lol. I think 8 is more than I'd ever need but your video was by far more entertaining.
Tom - when you're coming out the yamaha at line level back into the mic pre-amp on channel 1 of the roadcaster - the noise floor from the yamaha must sound like the ocean behind you ... I am doing the same with a behringer mixer - but it's noisy as hell -- any thoughts? turn the volume down to zero on the roadcaster channel? or run your external mixer really low and amplify on the roadcaster? eager to hear your thoughts - also what about two rodecasters with line out jacks on RC1 going into channel 1 XLR of RC2 ? but now you have the same issue - double amplified signals ? I need 5 or 6 mics and i use the USB for interface to machine, trrs for music from another machine and bluetooth for calls .. so no more inputs .. HELP!
The Yamaha definitely brings the noise in this case. I think it'd be possible to connect two Rodecasters and keep things pretty quiet, but if that's going to be a regular part of your workflow, then it probably would be best to just invest in a quality mixer with 8-12 channels. I guess the downside to that would be that there's no onboard recording 🤔
@@tombuck Thanks for that mate - I don't need recording as OBS will do that - and I don't need multi-channel recording either - any suggestions on mixer ? I am guessing the pre-amp and DSP on the Rodecaster is as quiet for the Rode PodCast mics as any mixer out there so was thinking trying to "Daisy Chain" via master out on RC1 to channel 1 (XLR) on RC2 ... thoughts?
Hey, Tom - first and foremost, you rock brother! Congrats on going full-time at home! Next - your Twitter needs to reflect that! It still says, "Himynameistom. I’m a high school digital media teacher and I make UA-cam videos! I do other stuff too, but those things are my favorites." Now for the actual question. On your suggestion - I purchased the Rodecaster. I previously used the Zoom H6. A problem I'm having with both is I have two mics plugged in - but only 1 will work. The two mics are a Zingyou (Unsure of the model) and Movo LV4-O Omnidirectional XLR Lavalier. When plugged-in together on the Zoom H6 and/or Rodecaster Pro - I can't have both. Any ideas why? Thanks in advance! Wes
Hmm, I wish I could solve this problem, but I haven't used either of those mics myself. I've definitely had to play with the streo/mono settings on the H6 in the past, so maybe that could have something to do with it? Off to update the Twitter bio! Thanks for the kind words!
Pun Markers: 2:34 - Not really a pun, I facepalmed 10:38 - 4/10? I didn't get it lol BTW what do you use to record your screen? Quicktime? because I used that a few years ago but I had problems with the audio going out of sync, so now I use OBS (which works fine) PS: This video was really fun to watch even though there were almost no puns :(
Hi Tom I watched with great pleasure and a big smile your video on the possibility of connecting 10 microphones to the rodecaster pro I don't know if you have an H6 zoom but if we could connect it (I don't know how this is why I'm asking the question yet) to the rodecaster pro we would have 4 additional microphone inputs?
Yes! You could run a 3.5mm cable for the H6 headphone out to the smartphone channel on the Rodecaster, or you could use a 3.5 to xlr adapter for one of the 4 main channels. 👍
@@tombuck Hi Tom I think 🤔 no, I'm sure you're the best. Thanks again for your quick response and thank you for your work. For now, with the pandemic, my students are on vacation, I will take the opportunity to reflect and set up the Podcast training with them and even though at first, the H6 zoom will be enough to start and do tests. I think maybe make me happy, follow your advice and then invest in a Rodecaster Pro. I also enjoyed your test between Rodecaster Pro and the Zoom PodTrack P8 and like you, I have a big preference for Rode. If you agree I would keep you informed of the progress of my different projects. Thank you again for your help. Best Regard. Amicalement. Jean‑Pierre
I'm getting horrible mic phasing with my rodecaster pro when using 2 mics, is there like a polarity switch feature or something that I'm not aware of, because outside of completely rearranging my physical setup I can't stop it from blowing out the lows, makes 800$ mics sound like the podcaster mic.
CRAAAAAZY! Are you related to MacGyver? All that's missing is some duct tape... I really like your idea of using what you already have to create more options. Synth rock on!
You didn't make me cry you made me laugh! Back when well I was probably your age I worked on the Rehersal for the Genesis World Tour we had two 64 channels mixed just for front of house. 64 channels for just Chesters and Phil’s drums then you had 64 channel mixer for the monitor mix and a 4th one just in case there was an issue. I didn’t know you had that many mics. FYI 1 sound guy board that the law (well it should be). FYI- Don’t give up your day joy to become a comedian! LOL
Tom, great video as always! I use a Scarlette 2i2 with Ecamm and I get blended channels. I think it's because I select that same symbol on the 2i2 that you pointed out in Garage Band. If that's not what is blending my channels, I'm not sure what is... but I get both of my mics in both left and right channels in my finished recording from Ecamm.
I think you might be right! I'm still learning about the Scarlett. I assumed it was the same as in the software, but it makes much more sense that the button would affect the Scarlett's output.
@@tombuck It's not the Scarlett forcing the mics left and right. It's the setting in Garage Band. To fix: Create 2 tracks in Garage Band. As stated above Track 1 uses Ch 1 of the Scarlett, Track 2 uses Ch 2 of the Scarlett. They will be mono. Learn your software and routing. Will save you a lot of frustration.
Great video. I was just messing with my Rodecaster Pro the other day wondering how I can get more XLRs. I have a Zoom H5 that has 2 XLR ins for mics. I was gonna get a 3.5mm to 3.5mm and run it out from the H5 to the phone channel on the Rodecaster which takes the other 3.5mm. Would that work as well? I have the gains on the H5 to help control the levels since both will be ran into one channel on the Rodecaster. What are your thoughts?
Great videos here Tom. I've used your videos a great source of info about the Rodecaster, and how to make the most of it. I currently run a studio podcast with 10 broadcast headphone mics connected to a Yamaha MG16XU, and now I want to channel those through to the Rodecaster to have the added benefit of Bluetooth and the sound pads. Ideally I'm shooting for 14 mics, but based on how you connected your Yamaha, I might be stuck at 13 total. Is it better to connect the Yamaha from phones to XLR on the RCP, or would a stereo out and into the phone connector be a better way? Additionally, is there any way for the cast on the Yamaha to hear the sounds from the RCP?Would love to hear your thoughts on creating this mega studio show. Cheers for providing stellar and reliable content! Brian
That's a great question. This video was more "proof of concept" than anything, and I'd probably do a few things different in your situation where you need it to be reliable for regular use. I think the best way to connect the Yamaha would be with an XLR Y cable where you can connect the L and R ends to the Yamaha's outputs and then run it into one of the XLR channels on the Rodecaster. 🤔
@@tombuck Thanks for the super fast repy! Cheers! So what I've laid out in my complex diagram.....10 microphones will come into the Yamaha mixer, which will output (via 3.5" jack out from the headphone on mixer) into channel 1 of the RCP (via XLR). From there I'll add 3 other mics on the RCP, giving a grand total of 13 broadcast headset microphones connected. To give everyone 'connected' the full audio experience from both units, I'll run stereo 3.5" monitor cables out of the RCP into my 2 (dasiy chained) headphone amps, where everyone that is connected will hopefully hear their input into the show. Why the need for so many mics? I'm teaching a university podcasting class and I need 15 students to talk (and hear) at the same time. In theory....my layout should work, and my multicolour cable diagrams show that it will, but I might need a flux capacitor to make it all work. Have you got a spare by chance? I've spent the better part of 3 weeks trying to connect everything, and I am running out of time to make it all work. Cheers for all your feedback!
what program could I use on pc? I do want to run the Rodecaster Pro and the Goxlr Mini at the same time. I like the swear button. Is there another way to emulate the swear button to bleat a person out without using the GOXLR mini? By the way I love your content being a disabled veteran. I intend to start a podcast soon about veteran and also growing up in group homes and foster homes.
Another great video Tom. I might actually try running a mic from my Scarlett into and out of Logic to the Rodecaster. I'm currently figuring out if I can get a better cymbal sound (normal sustain) from my overhead mic that is running directly into the Rodecaster, before I try this.

Dynamic Duo..... LIkes that!
Been thinking a lot about this
That was my plan and thanks for sharing your video it’s helpful
I'm glad this ridiculous experiment proved helpful 😁
Awesome for making this video. I wanted to know the same thing!I was wondering if you could hook up to rodecaster pro together and maybe not have all the issues
If I were to connect another Rodecaster, I’d use the monitor outputs on one into the XLR channel of another, so you’d need a 1/4inch to XLR Y cable (two 1/4 inch in one end for the monitors and a male XLR on the other).
@@tombuck thank you love the channel. I just bought a roadcaster. What do you think the best bet is to use?if you wanted to use eight Mics without the problems that you had
You’re the best Tom!
I know you are but what am I?
Sometimes you just need a ridiculous video! Well done!
It was super fun to make.
My favortie part was the CC "techno beat containing rhythmic barking sounds."
That was all Rev.com. I’ve used them for years, but that right there cemented my love for them 😁
That was wild. Hey Tom, what in the hell is the gold circle underneath the RODE logo on the Rodecaster?
Haha, it's just their logo. I thought it was a special button at first. 😁
Hi Tom I believe on Windows you can only have one interface active. ASIO is only capable of supporting a maximum of one audio interface for input and output at any one time. I could be wrong but I was never successful getting two interfaces working at the same time on Windows. :)
I haven't used Windows since XP, so I'm definitely not the person who would know 😬
Omg, can you say microphone overdose!!!!!!!! Funny as hell, but very helpful none the less. Your creativity is amazing and greatly appreciated !!!!!!!!! GREAT VIDEO
Thank you! Great name, by the way.
This is a really awesome video!
Thanks! 👍
This guy has more mics than I have hair.
Tom, which output of the Yamaha mixer did you use to connect to the Rodecaster?
for this I used the headphone output because that was the easiest way to get a stereo signal into the RCP 😬
Hahahaha! This is the best video EVER! I was geeking out around every corner 😂
That's the most creative mic flex I have ever seen! 🤘🤣
Haha, thank you!
"You should think of my work as Wordless Sound Poems."
Dont pretend we didnt see mini gene just sitting there! Awesome experiment!
Good eye! The Casio keyboard is the same model they used to sample his effects for the show.
Bummer you don't still have the K669B because I came for the dad jokes, but stayed for The Fifinal Countdown.
“Welcome to the most ridiculous video I’ve ever made” *FOR NOW*
Yes, true 🤔
Love how that Korg mini synth sounds. What model is that?
It's the good old MicroKorg- absolutely awesome and very fun.
Sir, I have one question: Roadcaster could be accompanying me to have a cool voice for my song cover? And probably could it help me to raise my tonality as to go to higher key result ( meaning doing voice into transposed one to higher or a lower key? See you around, right here watching from ROMA con AMOR!
The Rodecaster doesn't currently offer any sort of tuning or pitch adjustment, but you never know what could be added in future Firmware.
I always enjoy your funny side of things. 😂
Thank you! I genuinely appreciate that!
Tom where can I find those Color XLR cables 💪🏾
The brand is Dremake on Amazon, they have lots of colors 👍
Hey Tom . What is this software on your Mac . Is it the ecamm live settings ?
Yep, that's Ecamm Live
I love this video so much
Thank you! It was super fun to make 😁
Thank you so much for this video!! We bought the Roadcaster Pro I thinking it had 6 mic inputs because it’s has 6 mixers and now we are scrambling.
I did this with my MGX12U to the Rodecaster, and it was great, because I could use the Rodecaster's processing on all microphones at once. The only downside is, I spent money on microphones I didn't need. 😆 I just love switching microphones, I guess I'm sort of a collector.
I’m the exact same way! It’s VERY fun to switch it up pretty much every day 😁
Wouldn’t the noise gate help when everything is unmuted, at least for the stuff going through the XLR inputs on the RODECaster Pro?
That’s true...definitely worth experimenting with.
nice thanks for the video Tom
You're welcome! This was a super fun one to make 😁
@@tombuck & fun to watch :-)
Hi tom! Can two rodecasters connect and record 6-8 mics on a single computer? If possible, can you do a video on the setup?
It'd be kind of the same thing I showed here. The best thing to do would probably take the Monitor outputs of one RCP and run it into one of the channels of another. It'll take some speciality cables or adapters, but it's doable.
@@tombuck thanks tom! Will try it out
@Tom do you think it's possible to add another input using the smartphone input?
I mix/produce a podcast where I'm not a presenter, but I would like to be able to quickly talk to all 4 guests without them taking off their headphones and ruining the flow of the conversations.
The Rodecaster Pro has a TRRS "input" but actually its acting as a headphones/mic headset for a phone, so really its an "output" for a phone. Therefore, if we invert the connection, (sort of like TRRS to SRRT) perhaps we could add another input? Keen to know your thoughts.
To my knowledge/basic research nothing like this exists off-the-shelf...
The Smartphone channel will work with a 3.5mm input (I've connected computers and other devices this way many times). 👍
I have PodMic with the Rodecaster Pro and One mic on the Roland VR 1HD
super fun one!
Are you outputting only L or R from the Yamaha mixer into Channel 1 on your Rodecaster? Or is there a way for you to output both L & R?
You can use a “y cable” that has 1/4 inch L/R connectors on one end and a single XLR or 1/4 inch on the other 👍
Tom, great fun (and educational too).
It sounds like you might have USB Mix Minus turned on in the Advanced Audio Settings. That should fix the issue.
Reminds me of the Frankenstein PAs we patched together for high school assemblies so our band could play. Spinal Tap misadventures in sound. :) thanks for bringing back the memories.
Haha, oh yeah I’ve been there. Hopefully your drummers didn’t explode.

Tom Buck, can I use the RODE PODMIC To pre record a Syndicated Classic Hits 70s, 80s, countdown for my production? Does the PODMIC Work for that?
It'll work for whatever you need, it's a great dynamic mic 👍
Have you tried to plug a mic via phone TRRS ? Like connecting a mic thru there ou via mixer ? I learn so much with your videos. Cheers from Brazil
This video made me subscribe! Great channel thank you for all your advice.
I'm really happy to hear that! Thanks for the kind words Jay!
This man is an unstoppable force, next video he is gonna connect a Rodecaster Pro to a Rodecaster Pro just to see if it will satisfy his insatiable mad scientist ways. DOG BARK TYPE BEAT is definitely your magnum opus btw.
Yo dawg, I heard you like Rodecasters so I put a Rodecaster in your Rodecaster so you can Rodecaster while you Rodecaster. 😎
How many headphones inputs can you use? Thinking of adding 2 dslr connection to start making a video podcast. But i also don’t want to loose 2 inputs for headphones for my guests either
There are 4 outputs in the rear along with one in the front. 👍
this isnt related to the vidoe but whered you get that tabletop/countertop from?
It’s a Husky workbench from Home Depot 👍
Tom Buck thanks man!
I'm surprised you didn't get an electromagnetic hum or loop.
Perfect, I would definitely do this too. Why? Because I like to make use of what equipment I have at hand just to know I can make it happen in a pinch. Besides it's fun to experiment.
Exactly! This is why I love this stuff.
Can you use the element chromium to this device and if so what connections do you need since it's a standard USBc to USB that comes with it
Since the Chromium is a USB mic, it won't work with the Rodecaster which is XLR only.
@@tombuck thank you so much for replying!
Is it possible to connect a usb mic into my MacBook thru logic and set the output to my Rodecaster?
Yep, basically exactly what you said is all you need to do 👍
Do you think it’s worth adding a preamp to the SM7B to reduce noise?
Yes, absolutely! It’s a really gain hungry mic that sounds it’s best with a CloudLifter.
could you possibly skip opening a daw by setting up the inputs in voicemeter banana ?
I think that could work!
I do other stuff too, but those things are my favorites."
Now for the actual question.
@@tombuck Damn! I stumped 'ya?!? SHOOT!

Is there anyway to connect the rodecaster pro to the rodecaster pro 2. Instead of using the Yamaha mixer?? Great video by the way!!
Pun Markers:
2:34 - Not really a pun, I facepalmed
10:38 - 4/10? I didn't get it lol
BTW what do you use to record your screen? Quicktime? because I used that a few years ago but I had problems with the audio going out of sync, so now I use OBS (which works fine)
PS: This video was really fun to watch even though there were almost no puns :(
Yep, I use QuickTime. Haven’t had too many issues with audio sync, thankfully.
Could you connect the goxlr or the Scarlett 2i2 to the rodecaster pro 2 to get 5 xlrs?😊
Hi Tom
I watched with great pleasure and a big smile your video on the possibility of connecting 10 microphones to the rodecaster pro
I don't know if you have an H6 zoom but if we could connect it (I don't know how this is why I'm asking the question yet) to the rodecaster pro
we would have 4 additional microphone inputs?
Yes! You could run a 3.5mm cable for the H6 headphone out to the smartphone channel on the Rodecaster, or you could use a 3.5 to xlr adapter for one of the 4 main channels. 👍
@@tombuck Hi Tom
I think 🤔 no, I'm sure you're the best.
Thanks again for your quick response and thank you for your work. For now, with the pandemic, my students are on vacation,
I will take the opportunity to reflect and set up the Podcast training with them and even though at first, the H6 zoom will be enough to start and do tests.
I think maybe make me happy, follow your advice and then invest in a Rodecaster Pro.
I also enjoyed your test between Rodecaster Pro and the Zoom PodTrack P8
and like you, I have a big preference for Rode.
If you agree I would keep you informed of the progress of my different projects.
Thank you again for your help.

FANTASTIC video Tom! 😅
What about connect a 2nd RCP to the "main one"?
If Rode wants to send me a 2nd one, I'll take it 😁
@@tombuck Hope they do it!..🤣🤣🤣
I'm getting horrible mic phasing with my rodecaster pro when using 2 mics, is there like a polarity switch feature or something that I'm not aware of, because outside of completely rearranging my physical setup I can't stop it from blowing out the lows, makes 800$ mics sound like the podcaster mic.
Hmm, I've used a lot of mics with the RCP and haven't had phasing issues unless they're super close to each other (like 6-8 inches).
CRAAAAAZY! Are you related to MacGyver? All that's missing is some duct tape... I really like your idea of using what you already have to create more options. Synth rock on!
Give me a paper clip and some duct tape, and we can make a whole new Rodecaster!
@@tombuck Lol. And tubes. Lots of tubes.
LOL
Woah, that’s a whole lot of inputs! And my standup career is just getting started! 😁 🎤
I'm dead! 🤣🤣🤣. Thanks Tom for the ideas 💡
Haha, you’re absolutely welcome!
How do I hear the 4 other mics out the RCP2 from my headphones that are plugged into the Solo Scarlet?
I would be doing this kind of stuff because I have most of the gear
Tom, great video as always! I use a Scarlette 2i2 with Ecamm and I get blended channels. I think it's because I select that same symbol on the 2i2 that you pointed out in Garage Band. If that's not what is blending my channels, I'm not sure what is... but I get both of my mics in both left and right channels in my finished recording from Ecamm.
If you select 1 on a track and 2 on a track it record each in mono and not both in stereo.
That’ll definitely work 👍
Great videos here Tom.
Grabbed a Snack and a Drink, leaning back in my chair, to watch your new video.
I love this.
Another great video Tom. I might actually try running a mic from my Scarlett into and out of Logic to the Rodecaster. I'm currently figuring out if I can get a better cymbal sound (normal sustain) from my overhead mic that is running directly into the Rodecaster, before I try this.
