    I know this upload is super old, but I wanted to let you know how grateful I am for all the wonderful videos on your channel. Yours is my favorite XIV-related channel on UA-cam by far. This was actually the video that made me subscribe, and I referenced it sooo much while writing the backstory for my current RP character. (I'd already done the questline beforehand, but my memory is spotty as hell LOL) Anyway, thanks again for all your hard work! You deserve way more subscribers than you have.

      I really appreciate that. Hearing that my channel is your favorite XIV channel when I know how many there are and the quality of the work some people produce has put a smile on my face which makes the work more than worth it. Thank you 😊.

    Just ran Diamond Weapon this morning and holy moly the ending to the story was so good but so sad!
    The actual fight was really fun too!

      They really did a good job with it. Have you tried it on extreme yet? That's where the fight is really something to see.

    Thank you so much for this video. I haven't done any of the raids after ARR, so this was really wonderful to watch. Also, your voice is very relaxing to listen to.

    i loved this. I have trouble paying attention to the story sometimes so it really helped to watch a cliff notes version like this. The story was so beautiful.

      I'm glad you liked it. I enjoyed the Werlyt story too even though it was pretty sad.

    Thank you so much for these lore videos. I wanted a primer going into Endwalker, but wasn't feeling motivated to actually learn and survive all the different raids I haven't done yet.

      you're very welcome. I honestly still have some raids to clear myself that I just don't feel like doing. My mind is too focused on Endwalker showing up in a little over a month.

    new form for the big spooky mech, that looks like the GP03, that is called G-SAVIOUR, and is called a terrible name, absolutely tracks for a G-Saviour reference

    I started watching your channel a few weeks ago with your video that recapped the entire msq. We had a brief discussion on that video where i had mentioned i was disappointed that the raids and trial stories werent included in that mega recap. You then mentioned you had other videos on them and then we briefly discussed whether all the raid content was considered canon or not.
    Anyways, just wanted to say ive been watching all your content since then and very much enjoy your videos, hope youre well and have a great day!

    Thank you for this video! I guess new content dazzles me so much that I don’t catch a lot of the nuances of the story. While Norvrandt had an epic story the brought all the feels Sorrow of Werlyt just used the power of great characters to also turn me into a soggy ball of feels. When Gaius first showed up with Alphinaud I got the feeling that I was going to like him more when he’s not trying to take the WoL’s head off and this whole story drove it home. I hope we get to see him in Endwalker. If anyone can rebuild Garlemald it’ll be him. Also fuck Valens and his, uh, ‘eclectic’ tastes. 🤯😤

    • @ChroniclerofLore
      @ChroniclerofLore  3 роки тому

      Valens gave off that creepy vibe a little too well which makes me wonder who exactly did they model that guy after. I've liked Gaius since he showed up as the Shadow hunter too, and I really hope he becomes the new emperor of Garlemald by the end of Endwalker.

    This seems like an important story that I should have been forced to play through.

    • @ChroniclerofLore
      @ChroniclerofLore  2 роки тому +1

      I personally agree that it should be a part of the MSQ especially considering how it is a direct continuation with the conflict with Garlemald, the growth of Gaius, and a whole lot of other stuff that is pivotal to the actual story.

      @@ChroniclerofLore Definitely! I'm so glad I chose to watch this video today. Excuse me while I work my way through the rest of your videos because there's no way I'm making it through all this content.

      Honestly I kinda like it that its kept optional. Gives you more value that stories this beautifully written are out there for players to discover on their own. It would've bloated the msq story pacing a bit if this was shoved into it.

    The only thing I wonder about this whole story is a stylistic choice... why'd they change Melisandia's character design? 4:30 vs 36:34. At first, I thought it was the elder sister of the Au'ra that helps the WoL, but she shows up in core with the rest of Allie's family.

    Thanks for the upload. I just wish FFXIV had bigger dialogue text if they cant make the dub possible. I honestly wouldnt rush into the scenes if they were voiced :/

    • @ChroniclerofLore
      @ChroniclerofLore  3 роки тому +1

      Fully voiced scenes would be awesome. But man that would be a lot of work to have literal days worth of text actually voice acted. They should at least let you change the text size and placement though

      That's 1 of the many reasons I started this channel. A lot of FCs dive straight into the content to gear up and mount farm then they have to catch the story later. I figured if I can get these out reasonably fast people can get to farming without missing the lore for long.

    The sorrow of werlyt is the saddest lore in this game. I feel sorry for Gaius I hope we get to co-op with him more in endwalker. dude is great.

  • @Sagasking14
    @Sagasking14 Рік тому

    Genuinely speaking, this is STILL a better story than 6.0
    It showcases a lot of the ideas that were fumbled pretty severely in Endwalker, while also FINALLY breaking the curse of terribly-written "sympathetic" villains. Vallens was just an awful man with nothing stopping him, but the writers didn't try and once again force the idea that he's somehow misunderstood or otherwise sympathetic, which in itself didn't work with basically ANYONE. They just let him be a bad man, and it's so much better because of it.
