I have HATSAN .22 Airgun and shoot wild pigeons, that we call"Palombes",here in France, they are fantastic to eat(stuffed with mushrooms and fresh herbs, like thym, rosemary, garlic and I cook them on a rotating "stick'above a wooden fire, but my hollow or regular pellets do a bit too much damage to the meat, head shots being mostly"lucky shots'on such small game,so I went back to .177 cal,and it's working great for me and the meat....!!!!!!
Nice video, the first two didn't mushroom because your target was too soft for them, they will do more damage on thougher game than the last five, the last five will be good on really small critters, great video.
Hey bud, I know this vid is old and out date but if you ever do another video on .22 caliber hollow point pellets you might want to try Daisy 15.4 grain Hollow Point made in Spain and bought on Amazon for 7$ for a tin of 500. The little secret is that these are Gamo Red Fire pellets without the polymer tip. Basically the Red Fire Base Pellet. For cheap shooting and crazy expansion these pellets are second to none. I shoot Sparrows and Starlings with these pellets out to 50 yards and the birds explode. I am using everything from Nova Vista Liberty's , Gauntlets , to LCS SK-19s and at 900+ FPS the only thing I find when I go to check out the damage to the bird is a wing here and a head there. Point is ...They explode with a pop. Give them a try and if I'm wrong well...KICK MY ASS!
Clean, simple and to the point without all the fluff. I agree AirgunnerCA, getting in close is exciting and challenging, developing certain skills lost over long range shooting. Thanks for the great vid. Keep up the good work and keep shooting.
Did you say 32 foot pounds our is 12 max ffs the uk you can upgrade it but I don't know what numbers plus it's 6 years min in jail if you get caught!. Were are you from?
Yes 32fpe with a .22 is normal here in the states, specifically California, we have no restrictions here when it comes to airguns. It’s unfortunate about your limitations, you’re missing out with what these guns can do with more velocity…
After the shot is taken don't cut the clay, pour plaster of Paris down the hole and let harden. Then peel clay away and you have an exact replica of the damage. Works great, time consuming though.
When the hollow point separates like the Hunter and the super Hollow Point, they impart their energy on and inside the game and kill very quickly due to the massive tearing and shredding they do. The more energy you can impart on that critter the more effective and humane dispatching pests become. Very nice test. I use the same method when testing new pellets. Good job and thanks for a great video. You might also want to try a very inexpensive pellet from Daisy which is now made in Spain and no longer made in China. Before, when they were made in China the were shaped differently and the quality was very, very poor. Now that they are made in Spain and maybe...by Gamo...I'm just making a guess here because I don't know for sure, but they are of very high quality and consistency. They are very accurate out of my PCPs and perform well from mid 500 fps up to 1060 fps out to 50 yards. English Sparrows explode when hit with them and it literally rains meat and feathers at 900+ fps. The mushroom very similar to the H&N Hunters and are as soft as JSB lead. They hold tight groups out to 50 yards and only open up about a 1/4" more than the JSBs at that distance. For 7$ a tin of 500 in .22 caliber and the .177 a tin of 500 is even less money. The picture of the pellet on the label is NOT at all what the pellet looks like. So if you want a good all-around plinking, target, and pesting pellet that is very affordable...give them a try. I think you are going to be pleasantly surprised by a pretty much-forgotten pellet thanks to China and the bad pellet that they produced for Daisy a few years ago. Take care and thanks. I hope you enjoy these pellets as much as we do.
The H&N Barracuda Hunters and Crow Magnums are the bomb on small game. If you can find them on Amazon try the Daisy Hollow Points. 500 per tin for like 12$. Very affordable and high quality. Devastating expansion and out of your gun make sparrows and starlings sound like fire crackers going off!☺️😉👍
Yes I’ve tried em! I think what makes the daisy pellets so devastating are the soft lead they’re made out of, upon impact they peel back very quickly and all energy is dumped on target. Unfortunately they’re not very accurate in any of my guns 😞 the others you mentioned are the best so far, especially the barracuda hunters!
Crosman hollowpoints and pointed are my go to small game rounds. Can take anything from rabbit to groundhog and raccoon. For a bigger raccoon I love H&N hornets. Hornets would drop a coyote in .22.
good video friend, some better than others at expanding but what is the accuracy like at 30,40, and 50 plus meters. that would be an interesting video after all if you cant hit it your not causing any damage at all. atb ray
Appreciate your view bro! The reason I didn't test accuracy is because every gun is different, each barrel is unique, so that means if I get good results with my gun it doesn't mean you will too. So basically the pellets can be accurate but my gun won't like em though. The only hollow point mine likes are the h&n baracuda extreme... everything else past 25yd will have flyers here and there. That being said these pellets are really meant for close to medium range because they lose velocity quick because of their shape so they won't really expand
Nice video man you did a really good job on that and it was by showing how the pellets expanded but I wish you would have taken the five pellets that did the bat and do the accuracy test with them because that's the only thing I realized every gun is different but you can have a really good expanding pellet but if you can't hit nothing with it it's not going to do you much good
It wasn’t an accuracy test, at the time I wasn’t looking for that I just wanted to see what they did. Sure I could’ve done an accuracy test but it wouldn’t prove anything other than what works for my gun. Because as you said all guns are different, showing what’s accurate on my gun could’ve probably pushed people away from a certain pellet that might’ve worked on theirs.....
Use either the H&N Crow Magnum or Cuda Hunters, and recently the Cuda Extremes in all my .17, .22, .25 cal air rifles as the "standard" hunting pellets. They are incredibly lethal !
With 35 footpounds if your gun likes the pellet and groups 1 inch or less at let’s say 50 yards like I said with that many footpounds you can hunt with hollow points so sight your gun in for 40 or 50 yards whichever your most comfortable with using the hollow point that groups again and inch or less at that distance and you’ll have a mean hunting set up head shots on anything up to a pig about 200 pounds
My friend i have a good question.. will 38foot pounds be enough too take a clean head shot on a coyote? Im really tempted but i want too make sure she will put em down nice and clean.
I would say no. Here in the UK hunters use 80ft/lb airguns on foxes. We don't have coyotes here, but I'd imagine their bone structure/density is somewhat similar to a fox. 38ft/lbs seems a bit low
AirgunnerCA , H&N sport 12.65 hollow point 22cal, I use them in my Gamo Urban pcp 22cal out to 50 yards if there's not a heavy breaze , after 50 yards I go with 16 gr jb
H&N pellets are insane. Highly recommend any of their pellets. One of the few manufacturers that have consistency in all their pellets
They look perfect don't they. I really loved using them
Great video. The RWS tore that modeling clay up! The H&N Hunter Extreme impressed me the most though, good expansion, while staying together.

Bowfishing Falcon thanks! You're right, then you can only imagine how devastating they'll be on tougher critters....
I don't know why I like this stuff
It can get interesting at times 👍
Thanks for taking the time to do this video! Great info. 👍

Great pellet comparison video.
Well done!
Enjoyed your video. Expansion is lacking in many pellets I would like to try the Barracuda Hunters and Beeman Crow Magnums on cottontails. Thanks.

Also excellent for hunting: H&N Terminators, Benjamin Destroyers and JSB Hades.
For rabbits
Nice review boss, but the Air Rifle isn't quite powerful enough! Need at least 40fpe. Crosman is ok but the H&N Terminators are the best!
Please let me know what break barrel u got that hits at 40fpe. I'd love to know. Not trying to be a wise ass, jus genuinely interested
@@dmo848 Mr sir smoke a lot...because of that, I'm going to keep that information😮
test on 3/4in particle board,'not' chip board.if it penetrates double the boards.the pellets are easier to dig out for inspection.

Excellent test. Any chance of getting a measurement on the ones that expanded?
You saved me so much time and money great video.
Glad I did the money spending for all of you 👍 thanks for the view

‘It’s impacting on contact’ - really? Lol
I think he meant compacting on impact.

"Seems like the pellet is impacting on contact". Well......
Your not wrong.....
I guess he meant 'expanding'...
That's impressive expansion. What kind of fps does your rifle put out?
900-920fps at high power with 18gr pellets. Devastating on small game!
All accurate pellets at 30 yards EXCEPT the Super h-point and the Crow Magnum. Those two kinda suck.
Good video... u should buy crayola clay... and do another one
Nice
close range hunting,,,,15 yrds,wot a laugh!
