Love this woman....a truly great queen of comedy. Great timing, physical comedy, facial expressions, costumes, all of the complete package is Patricia. I can watch her over and over and always brings laughter.
hours and hours of laughs and entertainment that i have got from you Mrs. Routledge and all your co-actors! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!!!!!!!!!From Belgium
Yes, I agree. And I also love Josephine Tewson, a charming woman, her character of "Elizabeth" frequently on the verge of a nervous breakdown over whether to have a beaker or a cup of tea. And Clive Swift's poor, henpecked "Richard" was also delightful. The man deserved a Nobel Prize for patience.
Keeping Up Appearances was a great programme. I remember as a kid enjoying Judy Cornwall on Moody and Pegg many many years ago .. another great programme.
Lady Routledge is the very definition of class , her and Joanna Lumley are quite different but they are both phenomenal and i love them both dearly and immensely .
I love you Patricia. You have made comedy special. I also enjoyed "Are you being Served", and have been a fan of yours and theirs for many many years. Now I am up in age, and still enjoy the reruns. May you live forever, dear. You are the best and the cast.....unequaled in my opinion. Thanks so much for your dedication and the laughs. With kindest regards, Lonnie.
I'm from holland and i think that the British have the best sense of humor! Are you being served? Dad's army, some mothers do have them, it ain't half hot mum, bottom, the young ones, blackadder, mr bean, london calling, etc etc. We dutch love all of it, and it's such a shame they don't make comedy's like that anymore. The same for pop music because imo the british had the best bands ever in the 70's and 80's. A true nation of TALENTED entertainers alright!
I had the boxed DVD set of Keeping Up Appearances. Each episode is a gem! Who could forget her hat at the end of the episode with Riparian Entertainment!
@@michaelreilly3513 it's called old age! She is 82 years old here, she may have health problems where she cant have the work done. Why pick on her appearance? Very low of you considering the person she is,she is an amazing lady. That's the issue with nowadays, people looking at appearance too much and not the actual person. Grow up.
Hyacinth is so much more of a treasure than the basic aristocrats she wants to impress and emulate hahah. what a precious character. I just love Patricia's creation and performance ...priceless
Before she even opens her mouth,I’m already in hiisterics, laughing like mad,Her serious looking face is so,so,funny, I couldn’t stop laughing. She’s very infectiousand most entertaining to watch.love watching her and the other casts.
It's nice to know Patricia is much like Elizabeth in real life xD Oh she is such a beautiful person. I always wondered whether she found the character of Hyacinth exhausting but I'm so happy she enjoyed it as its enjoyable to the viewers. I don't think there will be another comedy actress quite like her. Her mannerisms and facial expressions and constant energy on set had me doubled up laughing. I don't know how she did it. I also adored her as Kitty in Victoria Wood's as Seen on TV. She was more edgy on that :3 Thankyou for uploading this treasure. Patricia is absolute class.
We have all been blessed to have grown up with all these Absolutely incredible people but Patricia Routledge is a National Treasure. Thank you to the old BBC for bringing them into our lives in such wonderful ways.
I always thought it was very sweet how much Daisy loved her Onslow. She and Onslow always seemed happy with their lot. Unlike Hyacinth, who was never satisfied.
@@linrob1312 Absolutely, I love how loyal Hyacinth was to Richard despite all she put him through. You really saw it whenever Hyacinth was with the Major, how she loved his flattery but never even entertained the idea of betraying Richard.
There are very few series which I watched. However, I just Love 'Keeping up apperances' and until today I like to watch the episodes on internet:) Hyacintha is one of my favourite character ever!
Judy Cornwell AND DAME Patricia routledge are both VERY friendly lady's THEY seem💓👍💯🌟 NICE ONE hyacinth AND daisy Some comedy actors are NOT sadly IN real life..
She was also on the movie, Don't Raise the Bridge, Lower the River, with Jerry Lewis, and was quite young and funny as well. An extremely talented actress and a British gift to the world along with other equally talented Brits. We love you, Hyacinth.
I know one of the two scenes she's referring to, the one with the horse that galloped away with her. They showed the stunts name in the credits. Now I'll make sure to look carefully for the second one. My guess it's the scene when she fell off the the boat (Contessa?!) into the water. Thanks for the challenge Dame Patricia Routledge, I will find it. LOL!
As an American who loves British comedy, I LOVE this lady. No one else could have played that part like her.
D Doyle Best Brit Com ever!
Probably Dame Judi Dench?
Absolutely! I agree with you. She is a very intelligent lady as well.🙂
D Doyle agreed!
Totally agree with you.😂
A wonderful actress, Patricia Routledge. What a comedic talent. The timing, the grimaces, the physical comedy - she does it all so well.
+Lars Pallesen She must be doing it based on some real persons, nobody could make that stuff up.
+Lars Pallesen She is indeed a rare talent. Great singing voice too. I don't watch TV or go to the movies. Not too much talent like this anymore.
I agree completely. Her physical comedy was fantastic.
And she sings! ua-cam.com/video/ReSlfsw5iJY/v-deo.html
And no one could give a look of disdain like she could.
Shes 91 years old now bless her, such a wonderful woman
💯👍🌟💓 A real treasure DAME Patricia routledge 🎬🎶
Chichester most finest resident 🏡
and she's still here as of june/24
Patricia Routledge has such a fabulously lyrical voice...and Judy Cromwell just seems so nice and so intelligent. Thanks so much for putting these up!
yougottagetagimmick Judy Cornwell... of a different fame than our friend Cromwell :-)
I wanted Hyacinth to have just one hugely successful candlelight supper.
A finale was written where she come into money and ended up with the big house etc.
I think that she did, but I can't recall the details (it was talked about, but not shown.)
nah... that would be like Charlie Brown kicking the football
Me too, it just seems like she always fell just shy of total success!
Yes. A LOVELY supper where Hyacint SHINES. ALL is perfect. And then Sheridan shows up and behave like a real gentleman and NOT asking for money:-)
This particular interview with the glorious Patricia Rutledge even LOOKS wonderful. The colors she's wearing, the setting, her makeup. Just lovely.
Thankyou Patricia for so many hilarious moments over the years!
Daisy is a work of art. Love you darling. Thanks for the laughs.

Meeeeeeeè! there dreadful know!
I agree with you! They don’t make shows like this anymore.
Oh! I love them all. British humor is the best. I'm American and watch as much as I can. Ct/tx

Patricia and Judy with all the others were all superb
Brilliantly talented woman. Exceptional
She's now Dame Patricia Routledge as she got knighted last year.
Did she get her tooth fixed? I mean, what was going on there, was it broken, a big chunk of lippy? WTF? She is rich enough to get it replaced!

What the hell does that even mean?? "A big chunk of lippy" ??? That's not even English. The moron can't even talk / write properly .

The horseback ride comes to mind, that perhaps Hyacinth had a stand in. Hilarious! That and falling in the river off the not so elegant houseboat.
I agree, I think those two episodes had a stand-in for her.
She is the archetype of older working women. We have so few. We need her, in so many ways.
Patricia Routledge is a class act. ..truly
So is Judy.
I grew up in Vermont and I watched this as a kid too.
Love her and all the cast. Very funny. xx
Thanks for putting this up. I'll always love the show
