I'm really hoping that SEGA makes the cartridge available for the public, even if it's in limited quantities. This looks really neat and it sucks that only influencers are allowed to play it :/

Does no one hear the high pitched sound coming from this tv? I get it it’s how they used to sound (I had one for a long time) but the fact that no one is talking about it concerns me. Makes me wonder if most of us have gotten too old to hear it anymore.
Demoscene guys can be nuts. ...actually, I can believe a stock Genesis can do all this. I've seen GameHut's videos. I'd think most of the hard work seems to be in audio compression. Using horizontal interrupts is a nice touch with that title sequence.
Please can you release the rom cartridge publicly? It would be a shame if everyone who got a copy loses it in the future or gets broken and no one can ever play it ever again, if only a certain amount are being given out that gives it a high chance of being lost media like someone else mentioned in the comments, and I'm going to be real this is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen and i never in my whole life thought i would ever see an official sega sonic game for that console ever again its so beautiful and i love sega and paramount pictures for doing this
@@shinyxstar I do not have legal rights to distribute the rom and it would be a violation of my contract with paramount. All of the source code and rom files (including prototypes) are safely backed up with multiple people in multiple locations. There’s zero risk it will ever be lost.
Is there any chance you’ll be able to provide a full dump of the cartridge in the future? It’s great to even have a full playthrough and all but I’m sorta passionate about this kind of thing being preserved properly and I’m not alone
Why are you surprised? The YM2612 has a DAC mode to play samples with a quality of up to 32kHz, the main problem is the Z80, audio co-processor and the ROM space of the cartridge, many times the developers were unable to reproduce decent quality samples in MD either because of the way they programmed in the Z80 or ROM space, now there are many more ROM and sound drivers capable of playing PCM samples in a decent quality.
