Just started watching your vids 1 month ago.I think i got them all. You are a great craftsman. Keep them coming a very interested rod builder. Extreme is always good. Tight Threads....Paul.
Awesome. Thanks for wstching.
Love the videos, wish I could mute just the background music lol.
You weren't the only one, so I stopped using background music
Thanks again for a great video! Can you share the rod blank and grip you are using? Thanks!
The blank is an NFC MB 736-1 X-ray LMX northforkcomposites.com/product/mb-736-1x-ray-lmx/
The grips were custom made in the custom cork videos. ua-cam.com/video/yQULYP6TAfA/v-deo.html
does the cork sealer that they sell, do anything to protect the cork? If the cork has the cork sealer on it can you put epoxy over that?
The sealers do protect the cork from drying out as fast but I have never put epoxy over a sealed grip. Great idea for a future video.
@@fdxcustomrods Thanks for the reply, I think I might try it
What type of brushes do you use and prefer. Looking to find a better brush in bulk and not a ton of money
I haven't found a great disposable brush but these are the best so far. At $11 per 100 they are the cheapest. amzn.to/3kQS4UT
@@fdxcustomrods thank you sir appreciate the info and love all your videos
Epoxy resin or Epoxy adhesive? Sorry, I'm that's a dumb question. I'm wanting to do my handles. Just don't want to make a mistake.
What's a good name brand?
Thank you for your time
Thread finish epoxy. Flex Coat and CRB from mudhole are fine but I prefer Diamond II from voodoorods.com
Can you send link of the flame thrower you used?
@mac king Here is the new model. The old one is no longer available amzn.to/3kVsIoJ
@@fdxcustomrods thanks!!!!!!
I got mine in. Did yours come with butane in it or did you have to fill it? Thanks
You have to fill. They will not ship with fuel.
Have you ever put 100% tung oil and then epoxy? I would think it would make it pop even more.
I have not. I would be concerned about how the epoxy would cure over the oil.
@@fdxcustomrods it would likely delaminate. Clean dry surface is key for any sort of epoxy
Great information.
FYI: Your background music level is too loud, both when you are talking and when not.
Yep. I have hearing issues from a life in construction. I'm working on a system to get the audio levels correct in the edit.
Captain Lee, your other videos have been very good on background music volume but this one, in order to hear what when you are talking, the volume was too high. Great job other than that.
The choice of music was a little intense.
