I've done intarsia knitting and crochet but never even made the connection to gemstones! I tend to lean toward natural specimens but these are stunning and the skill this must take is unfathomable!
Wow these are absolutely stunning and remind me of Art Deco in their style and composition. Absolutely gorgeous. And I learned a new word, intarsia! Thanks for this video!
Saw some intarsia at a gem and mineral show about 12 years ago and they were incredibly expensive but oh so lovely. Fire agate and black opal are my favorite gemstones. TFS
Rebecca and TOM, TY for sharing such unusual artsy incredible pieces...love the pix painting and the gorgeous box😊..❤...😮...❤great job on Kaufman pieces..like finding a Vincent van gogh...😊
The picture agate is my number 1. And the fire agate a close second. The blue and green one where the malachite looks like a barcode is my 3rd choice 🎉😅
Flint/chert is predominantly microcrystalline quartz with varying impurities Black onyx is also a microcrystalline quartz with varying impurities Whilst you are correct in identifying that it was indeed chert, they weren't exactly wrong calling it onyx either. Essentially the only discernable difference between chert and most jasper varieties is the size of the granulation within the specimen. Whilst some may find the distinction important, after it's polished it would be near impossible to tell a finer grained material from a coarser one unless the piece had some visible banding along where one could see the crystal boundaries under magnification.
This was super riveting!!!😍 Learning of the link of Asurite and Malachite them usually not seen apart from each other!!! The technique for these pieces are amazing! I love them! Thank you guys for sharing such grand knowledge and specimens!✨🫶
I had the pleasure of meeting Jim K. in Tucson 20 years ago. An amazing artist. His intarsia lines are nearly flawless.
This is one of my most favorite of your videos. What a unique and special collection!
I love Intarsia. I hand selected every piece we have in inventory.
I'd never heard of Intarsia until you all introduced it back in a previous show. Absolutely stunning. Each piece was more beautiful than the next.

Wow, so interesting. I've never heard of Intarsia before and loved to hear about it! Thanks
Really cool Unboxing segment. Jim Kaufman's intarsia work is rare, beautiful and as presented here, very well priced too! Impressive.
It’s so amazing how beautiful and precise the cuts are to make such incredible things

Would you do an episode on Moissanite? It has an interesting history!
I had no idea this was a thing. People mostly do it with wood here.
My favorite is the one I bought!
Always my favorite too

Very pretty stone🥰
Interesting topic! ❤ 💎 😊
Very pretty stone(s), but not too many people could wear those - or they could be mistaken for costume jewelry 🤓
I like the sound filler you use. Please keep using it. 🙃
So so so beautiful. Are there any duplicates? Love you
No. It said in the video they were all one of a kind.
wow!
I want to learn how to do this, and put the results in the hilts of the knives im going to make
