You both have it all planned out. I'm glad to see that you have lunches sorted. Good job, all of you. If you vacuum-seal cheese it lasts just about forever, but without one, putting wax paper up against all surfaces then wrapping in foil makes it last longer.
Excellent prices, Karen! I always marvel at the size of the cheese brick you buy! Fantastic! I'm a cheese lover. So glad you and Patrick had a wonderful and peace-filled time away. Don't work too hard this up-coming week. Thanks for your always enjoyable videos. Many blessings from Ontario, Canada! ❣🥰
Nice little haul, we're having lamb shortly... Mine's cooked ready, carrots and whole onion roasted... Having a bit of mash, if we have roast potatoes they will be sweet ones for a change, only a fraction of cooking time... My boys sulking... I took the lamb out of the freezer yesterday... He says he doesn't want any because it's out of date x lol x. He doesn't understand the concept of freezing from fresh x lol x His choice though, just potatoes to cook and veg to 're heat, I've saved the stock for a bit of gravy, I'm not so hungry myself after his shenanigans so I might just bowl everything up and try again tomorrow x lol x
Why is cheese so expensive, I wonder? 🤔 I could understand if it was French or Italian cheese but good old British cheddar? A British staple if ever there was one!
I guess the price of the milk, labour, storage. When bought directly from the farm, the farmer should also make some money. In this case the supermarket also adds a percentage.
You must go through a lot of cheese - I seem to recall you buying an equally large block last time you went shopping? Good source of protein, and still cheaper than meat. Do you cook the jacket potatoes all at once in the slow cooker or air fryer? I find they’re much nicer done that way than in the microwave, and they can then just be reheated in the microwave when required - excellent with some of that cheese and a bit of salad!
A good haul, Karen - especially as you are just finding your feet in this new job. But once you are a bit more settled, might I suggest slow cooking a gammon joint or chicken in your favourite flavouring to take rather than the ultra processed, high calorie pork pies. If you love them, then they need to be an occasional treat, not a staple. Im no saint btw I love chocolate- I try to keep it to an occasional treat but ..... therefore Im not loosing weight lol 😂
I just don't understand why some people are interested in your shopping....or anyone else's. I just ordered my weekly grocery delivery today.....I can't get out to the shops....but I don't think anyone is interested in what I bought.
Lots of people like grocery hauls - some to compare prices with other supermarkets or countries - some to get inspiration as to what to buy. If you personally don't like em - may I suggest that you don't watch em??
That cheese is good value. Glad you had a good break.xx😻🕊️
... But tastes of nothing!

@@Knit333 Ah yes, I didn't factor in the long maturation and storage for a good cheddar! Cheers!
That size cheese would be $10 or $11 US.
The cost of cheese is higher in the US
@@grammamary7283 Oh my goodness, that sounds roughly double the price! Is your cheese generally expensive in the US?

I actually feel the same ... If I made a video of my weekly shop, I can't imagine anybody would be in the slightest bit interested?
