Last year my husband lost his job and it took 6 weeks for him to get a new one plus another month to get his first check. Thankfully I had a number of things in the freezers and pantry that we could eat and ingredients for me to make more. Things like chili and stew made us multiple meals each. He was finally happy about my extra food and toiletries stashes I keep on hand for just in case. Thankfully it got us through.
The creator of walmart. His family are so off track from where he was. He said he never saw Penny he didn't pick up. He kept his same vehicle. And he believed he started that store on using local produce local made goods as well as imported throughout the states in the world. I wouldn't even pass up one pence or one penny.
Well done Karen. I admire anyone that continues to keep cash going. More people should do Prepping, its become a useful hobby for me living miles from the nearest town.
Yes cash is king 👍when I go shopping I always put any change under a pound into a savings jar. I have filled it once and it’s almost half way again. The money saved goes into a high interest savings account 👍
A real key point you made about the FarmFood Vouchers etc: IF YOU WERE GOING TO BUY IT ANYWAY.... I hear people using the little extras to buy fancy treats that aren't in the budget. When money is really tight, I use the rewards/vouchers etc for what's on the list anyway. That builds the pantry supply or whatever back up.. For example the local food co-op gave me a 5$ reward for doing a survey. So I looked at my iists...the "need now" stuff was caught up and not expensive. The "long term stock up list" had laundry soap on it so that's where I spent the 5$. I didn't need it now, but it will save me in the long run. The prepping/stocking up and then throwing my little surprise $$ in means I can easily go a month with zero purchases if I felt like it or needed to. You're right, the prepping is always good so not not everything is an "emergency" that depletes savings.
This morning in Lidl, I was charged full price for a tin of soup (for hubby) that was on offer if you scanned the app. I always check my receipt before leaving the store, so I went back to check that I had my facts straight and asked one of the assistants. I got my 13p back!!😂😂😂 It all adds up, and we had a laugh about it and blamed Head office for not setting the tills properly!
What a comfort to have even the bits and pieces. I have to get back to it. I got terribley sick back the week of Jan. 13. Supplies needed, it got so expensive. Two weeks in and trying to recover. I am fortunate I have PTO at work and since I don't really take days off I had that so I still get full pay Jan 31. I'm back up and running and was so glad to see you are doing ok too.
It is easy to buy an extra can or bag of something each time you are at the store. Even if you have to walk and carry your groceries, one extra of something for the cupboard each trip can be food for one day in an emergency. A small bag of rice or lentils. A can of beans or corn. Slowly the pile starts to grow, and when someone loses their job, it can mean eating or not eating. I am surprised at how many people say they have no food, but they haven't been going to the free pantries. Even if you don't need it now and would never think of going down to one, I suggest just visiting one or two, and get an idea of what is and is not available should you ever need it. I am one who would practically starve before going to a food pantry. Don't ask me why. I have counted potatoes on my counter to see if I had enough food to last a couple of days, but it never even occurred to me to go to a food pantry, and this area is loaded with them. I understand. But times have gotten even tougher now, and if you are on the brink, don't be shy, because no one who gets free food every week or two is shy. You're a protective caretaker peace and love to you wonderful human.
I think how she copes with it is that frankly, she's been through much worse than having strangers say nasty things to her online, and it's got her to a headspace where mostly she realises how little it matters what they say, so she doesn't get upset by it, if you follow.
As for the people who say these things, I think it comes from a place of them being deeply unhappy, distinctly lacking in anything better to do, and probably intimidated by her personal development, willingness to put her life on the internet, and so on. For example, I'd put money on none of them having a UA-cam channel.
@KatherineNottingham (also another name @katherinekeon7034) help seriously required here. 😮
I hope Karen gets some extra security at her home! One of these days an axe will come through the door ‘HERE’S KATHERINE!!!’
@@poppy6488 We Poppy people think alike 😂😂 x
Is this meant to be interesting? This is what everybody can do if they have to.
Do you have any idea how many people have to run out to the shop[ps every time they run out of something and have no concept of being ready for unexpected happenings?
@@tonette6592 It’s sometimes a choice though. Folks with no transport maybe have to shop locally and also may be unable to carry home bags of shopping. I wouldn’t dream of telling an adult how to shop. That may be seen as arrogance.
Lynn you bet your tail it's interesting! It's interesting, it's exciting, it's exhilarating. Check it out baby. check out the single mom, single woman, who nails it down. Is teaching her daughter to do the same thing. Yup, standing up with respect and pride❤❤❤ spending cash and helping a bunch of other people around the world😊 Lynn baby you nailed it❤ interesting freaking a she is. She ought to be a five-star movie. If people truly respected how people can change their whole lives. Especially in the prime of their lives. As well as bring their kids along with them. Plus to see their kids change their lives in their late twenties and early 30s. Very interesting 😊
I find it to be more interesting than people who sit on Golden toilets 😂I find it more interesting than the read that I just did😊 2022 to 2024 activist political writings of Ralph Nader ❤who I love lol. Freaking a man this chick is more interesting than almost anything else going on in the 🌍🌎 Especially to women who have found ourselves in a man's world 😊ever since we came into it. Yeah very interesting she is indeed❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
well don’t watch then, its a lot more interesting than you
Don't be rude there is no need for it on this channel thank you
