Last year my husband lost his job and it took 6 weeks for him to get a new one plus another month to get his first check. Thankfully I had a number of things in the freezers and pantry that we could eat and ingredients for me to make more. Things like chili and stew made us multiple meals each. He was finally happy about my extra food and toiletries stashes I keep on hand for just in case. Thankfully it got us through.

The creator of walmart. His family are so off track from where he was. He said he never saw Penny he didn't pick up. He kept his same vehicle. And he believed he started that store on using local produce local made goods as well as imported throughout the states in the world.

A real key point you made about the FarmFood Vouchers etc: IF YOU WERE GOING TO BUY IT ANYWAY.... I hear people using the little extras to buy fancy treats that aren't in the budget. When money is really tight, I use the rewards/vouchers etc for what's on the list anyway. That builds the pantry supply or whatever back up.. For example the local food co-op gave me a 5$ reward for doing a survey. So I looked at my iists...the "need now" stuff was caught up and not expensive. The "long term stock up list" had laundry soap on it so that's where I spent the 5$. I didn't need it now, but it will save me in the long run. The prepping/stocking up and then throwing my little surprise $$ in means I can easily go a month with zero purchases if I felt like it or needed to. You're right, the prepping is always good so not not everything is an "emergency" that depletes savings.

This morning in Lidl, I was charged full price for a tin of soup (for hubby) that was on offer if you scanned the app. I always check my receipt before leaving the store, so I went back to check that I had my facts straight and asked one of the assistants. What a comfort to have even the bits and pieces. I have to get back to it. I got terribley sick back the week of Jan. 13. Supplies needed, it got so expensive. Two weeks in and trying to recover. I am fortunate I have PTO at work and since I don't really take days off I had that so I still get full pay Jan 31. I'm back up and running and was so glad to see you are doing ok too.

It is easy to buy an extra can or bag of something each time you are at the store. Even if you have to walk and carry your groceries, one extra of something for the cupboard each trip can be food for one day in an emergency. A small bag of rice or lentils. A can of beans or corn. Slowly the pile starts to grow, and when someone loses their job, it can mean eating or not eating.
I am surprised at how many people say they have no food, but they haven't been going to the free pantries. Even if you don't need it now and would never think of going down to one, I suggest just visiting one or two, and get an idea of what is and is not available should you ever need it.
I am one who would practically starve before going to a food pantry. Don't ask me why. I have counted potatoes on my counter to see if I had enough food to last a couple of days, but it never even occurred to me to go to a food pantry, and this area is loaded with them. I understand. But times have gotten even tougher now, and if you are on the brink, don't be shy, because no one who gets free food every week or two is shy. They get groceries that I would never buy because it is too expensive. They have almost everything, in one form or another.

Every food bank where I live (all 2 of them) are means tested and I would rather those who really need it get access than someone just stocking up to save some money.

    • @yellowbird5411
      @yellowbird5411 10 днів тому +1

@@nikki27ish Yes, in a perfect world, only the poor would have access to free food. However, people being how they are, they feel entitled to it, and think that if they don't go get their weekly rations that they won't be able to make the new car payment. We do need a better system. People would be less likely to use them if they had to prove need, but then we would have people all up in our business, and that's a miserable proposition. Some food banks have so much they practically force extra food on people just to get rid of it. But other ones are begging for donations. I wish there was more coordination between them. Back in the day, food banks were unheard of. There were food boxes, which were depressing affairs for those on their last legs. Grocery store leftovers were tossed in the garbage. So maybe we should be grateful we have what we have.

It is nice to see someone doing a positive video, that contains common sense, and tips, while we are going through this "cost of living" crisis.
I personally find with the stock up on EVERYTHING, idea people have to be careful.
It is easy to get carried away.
Retailers love you stocking up, and I think sometimes you end up buying things that are not a " bargain", just don't get used, or run out of date.
So IMO stock up on certain things that you will always use, and avoid things you think you will use.

They have worked it out. And they will work it out. What I have seen having them gotten this beautiful pet. Is that they didn't set the pet down and have the pets set their sedentary life. They both got up and have both lost weight. Kathleen is probably changed her entire existence she is aging in reverse now. Looks younger than she has in the whole time I've seen her on videos. She has lost stones. She is psychologically physically more fit and actually she's more financially fit with her poochie because she spends time walking and comforting with the poochie instead of with hair dye and nails these are choices she made I'm pointing out to you. That the health of a human being is better when they have a pet. And they will figure out if and only if major needs come into the hundreds or thousands. I dare say if something happened and they put it up. We would all come forth with pennies from our purses as we have fallen in love with c a l i.and that's how it is when you share yourself with the world. People throughout the world will fall in love with you will even like you and anything in between. And come forward to help you and yours regardless if it's a child or a pet. That's how we feel about this woman. And her daughter and both of her pets. As well as her companion man and all of their friends. She shared her world with us and I dare say that we as her community that she created wouldn't let cali go without. If they had something they needed and they told us about it.
And if we all held on to what if this happens and I can't afford it. There would be a lot of people without lower blood pressure and healthier bodies. That is what pets do for the soul and the physical being. That's true science.

@@christinerose9648 they could be blocked. Karen chooses not to. That is her choice this is her channel. And her community. Patrick and another person or two are her mods. That do that. She is one heck of a person. Some ignorant people even post that she doesn't mind being slung poop at only in their own language like she can take it blah blah blah. Like oh how uncouth and ignorant and low life and unclassy are they? She is a sweet person it really gets to me. And occasionally I have messaged her about how horrible it is to see her being blatantly abused by these critics troll like comments and people. It does add a few pennies to the channel I suppose. Creates conversation. They watch because they are jealous of her. They are insecure most of them unable to do the single life or do it better. Or they ran off everybody in the real world to the point that they come online to pick up people. They are what they are.
if you believe in God in Christ pray for their wickedness and their nastiness that they might find something somewhere sometime that would teach them what we learned before we were in kindergarten at the age of four and five. If you can't say something nice to someone don't say anything at all.
It does bother me sometimes and I just fester and fester on it. And sometimes I rip at them back like really roar roar roar roar and then I just say like wow Karen is so much better than them. And here I am stomping on them because I like her so much that I just assumed kick their tails and see them get away with their 4 to 5 year old immature behavior. In a prime of midlife UA-cam channel. Where you would think most of us are 30, 40,...70, 80s 90s.
There have been some people that have been blocked. That were just always looking for the fight.
So for the couple of rotten apples who like to try to spoil the whole basket. Know that they are few. And then out of the 10,000-plus people that have joined this site 10,500 2 or 3 or 6 or 10 are repeat nasty posters. And then there are a couple that pop up randomly that you don't see all the time. And you think while the shell of their existence the vein of their being is to always poke holes in other people's joy sacks.
You are a wonderful person. Peace and love to you ChristineRose. We pity the nasty ones we pray for them. We ignore them we push them away. Or we step up and slew them whichever way we feel in the moment. Please don't worry too much Karen is a beautiful soul she has a wonderful companion Patrick and they both have a daughter. They are loved and strong in themselves by being the group of wonderful people they are and present themselves here to us as.
Don't let the mean muggers an ugly words and actions bring you down. That's the type of thing these nasty people want to do.

I think how she copes with it is that frankly, she's been through much worse than having strangers say nasty things to her online, and it's got her to a headspace where mostly she realises how little it matters what they say, so she doesn't get upset by it, if you follow.
As for the people who say these things, I think it comes from a place of them being deeply unhappy, distinctly lacking in anything better to do, and probably intimidated by her personal development, willingness to put her life on the internet, and so on. For example, I'd put money on none of them having a UA-cam channel.

I find it to be more interesting than people who sit on Golden toilets 😂I find it more interesting than the read that I just did😊 2022 to 2024 activist political writings of Ralph Nader ❤who I love lol. Freaking a man this chick is more interesting than almost anything else going on in the 🌍🌎 Especially to women who have found ourselves in a man's world 😊ever since we came into it. Yeah very interesting she is indeed❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
