Thanks heaps for this video. I wanted to dismantle mine to clean the inside of the HID lens. I had figured out how remove the back and the glass but not how to remove the plastic surround under the lens or how to push through the clips to release the body. Thanks for that!! I then found there is a clip or lever which releases the middle ball joint. There are then 3 torx screw that release the HID assembly. I could not get the HID assembly out but got enough movement to be able to clean the inside of the lens. Thanks again!!
I think I would rather stay with my German car with the $7 headlights that have been working for 27 years. Or the Dodge truck with the 16 year old lights that would cost $26 each to replace the whole assembly or just bulbs for $15 a pair. When I was repairing cars we used to say "Why do the British drink warm beer? Because their refrigerators are made by Lucas!"
Hello ! Very useful video. Thank you for posting. Did you find the culprit ? I have the right headlamp (lh drive) which turns on once in hundred, just replaced bulbs for now and still the same. Thank you again
@@backofficeshow Thank you for your fast answer, I didn't take time to check all your videos (but I subscribe 🙂) Gonna disassemble the whole thing this week end following your videos, hope just dusty connectors.
Did you figure out how to test the igniter or the ballast ?? My passenger headlight is not working and I was wondering if you happened to come up with a solution
It's quite a while ago so I do not really recall, however, I remember that even the lamp could be at fault after buying new non oem ones that exhibited the same behaviour. I would start by getting good quality manufacture recommended lamps as a starting point.
I just had a recall for my Saab's air bag and the messed up my headlight alignment somehow. Do you still have official Saab mechanic's there? I had to go to a high end place in Sam Francisco for the free air bag fix that mostly deals with Austin martins and lambos lol

Excellent video, thank you for diving into the deep end for us!
Very useful video. Will come in handy when installing the daylight running halo lights
I found a chip in my lamp the other day, I will follow the same procedure to replace the lens.

+Experiencing Technical Difficulties This is a German car, made by BMW 😂 hence the issues!

Gosh, I have a bunch of videos about this darn thing! Good quality lamps definitely helped and I even changed the components in the ballast

Do you have a source on replacement white adjusters? I can't seem to find them anywhere!
Is there any lhd/rhd switch?
The longer sentence on the igniter means "operate with lamp only".
Thought that might possibly be useful information for you.
Ahh, ok. I feel I am going super deep now with Xenon analysis. Since this video I have learnt a lot more, I might try repairing the electronics soon.

+Deep State Globalist Games no official Saab mechanics but most GM/Vauxhall/Opel places can deal with it
