- Step into the world of Reuben, and see how he lives as somebody who has chosen an Off Grid lifestyle and lives in an old train carriage. Join us as we discover how and why he lives this way, and the decisions to choose a simpler, more self sustaining way of life. Living is a train carriage could be considered as very unique, but to Reuben, it's normal. He managed to convert what was wasteland into an amazing space he now calls home, and explains the in's and out's of the off grid systems he has in place, enabling him to live mortgage free, bills free, and with minimal outgoings. Join us for a full tour of his old converted train carriage, as well as the impressive Unidome Space that was originally an old sewage treatment facility. We explore how this path in life could be of interest to some, and hope that Reubens story can inspire others!

I agree that *some* regulations need to be relaxed, but not all, otherwise we'll end up with all sorts of Mad Max type scenarios!
@@sweetnawesome23 I believe its the best way, it's clear our government puts Asylum seekers Before there own British People Hence why we have one of the biggest homelessness Rate in Europe. Fresh of a boat you will get everything 5 star hotels free food Benefits laptop, mobile phones free dental care, if your English Born you will get nothing and told to abide by the rules. This will only speed up the process of people living how they like to survive and cut costs Because the government are not in the Real World The people paying taxes and going to work will turn into Mad Max because they have had enough.

I lived in a small village near York when I was a young child. Post war clothing was hard to obtain, and some of my garments were altered by a dressmaker. At the bottom of her garden were two railway carriages, where she had her business. It was a fascinating place to visit.

We used to see that a lot on the smallholdings when I was a kid, and the people living in them were as happy as Larry.Then the coucil compulsory purchaced the land to sell it off to developers to turn it into an industrial park. Same thing with the post war Aluminium Prefabs. People loved them. Warm and cosy, enough room to swing a cat around and low cost to buy and heat. But the council in its wisdom decided that they weren't posh enough, so they turfed everyone out and demolished them, then built a few high priced houses in their place. I live in Horden, Co.Durham now and the council here are making plans to demolish the pit rows and erect "Luxury houses". Where they are going to rehouse the owners and tenants who now live in those rows, god only knows, because there's already a shortage of housing stock and liitle in the way of industry to support luxury living, and it's for certain that those now living here won't be able to afford these Luxury Homes, because most of them are either pensioners or out of work younger ones, living on benefits.

This is becoming one of my favourite channels for this type of thing, great to get a perspective on this way of living from different people. All very interesting characters. He's got a good setup, love the round building and the fact they left some of the original features in there. Another good video.
