This is one cool dude, this is why government should relax building regulations and let people live how they like. This is better than any mansion hands down.

If you buy land you should be able to live however you want to, on it! So sick of government and council ‘rules’ and ‘regulations’.. it’s ridiculous! Love the train home 😍😍
@@TheDarkLandsMusic NO! NO there doesn’t ‘need to be rules’! If you OWN land, you should be able to do whatever you want on it! And, oh no, we couldn’t possibly have ‘ugly’ buildings could we? They might OFFEND your precious, entitled, aesthetics! And that’s soooooo much more important than caring about people who are homeless… 😡😡

I was born 5 miles south of where you are. I was always disgruntled that I could not buy in north norfolk due to the price increases from the London invasion. Thank you for showing me the light and that it is possible!
Legend! What an inspiration. Your channel is doing a great job in highlighting folk who use initiative whether by choice or necessity and you make them the heroes of each film and not yourselves. Well Done.
Living my dream. Well done to this man. I love all the recycled materials. This home looks amazing. Well done. More people should be like this man. Thank you for showing your lovely home, it's so interesting.
Absolutely fantastic! what a geezer wonderful set up and he looks so comfortable and happy.must admit I’m rather envious.I’d live there at the drop of a hat, well done sir 👍.✊🙏❤️👌
The carriage and round house are definitely amazing spaces! Congratulations Reuben, and thank you for granting us a peep into your home. I can't wait to check out your channel!
We used to see that a lot on the smallholdings when I was a kid, and the people living in them were as happy as Larry. Then the coucil compulsory purchaced the land to sell it off to developers to turn it into an industrial park. Same thing with the post war Aluminium Prefabs. People loved them. Warm and cosy, enough room to swing a cat around and low cost to buy and heat. But the council in its wisdom decided that they weren't posh enough, so they turfed everyone out and demolished them, then built a few high priced houses in their place. I live in Horden, Co.Durham now and the council here are making plans to demolish the pit rows and erect "Luxury houses". Where they are going to rehouse the owners and tenants who now live in those rows, god only knows, because there's already a shortage of housing stock and liitle in the way of industry to support luxury living, and it's for certain that those now living here won't be able to afford these Luxury Homes, because most of them are either pensioners or out of work younger ones, living on benefits.
I’m very excited to watch every stories which all differ. I’m very expressed how people can find their pathways and realise their ideas for comfortable and off grid living 👍
This is becoming one of my favourite channels for this type of thing, great to get a perspective on this way of living from different people. All very interesting characters. He's got a good setup, love the round building and the fact they left some of the original features in there. Another good video.
I lived in a small village near York when I was a young child. Post war clothing was hard to obtain, and some of my garments were altered by a dressmaker. At the bottom of her garden were two railway carriages, where she had her business. It was a fascinating place to visit.
Wonderful vids, great characters, and STUNNING cinematography. So lovely to watch these real stories... I can't wait for more videos. The faces behind the camera are alright too.
It's interesting that society tends to judge people who collect items, barter for goods or simply find things in their daily journey. I've found it feels like I am not able to "keep up" with the norms of society...but in all honesty, much more of personality shines through. The daily grind isn't for everyone. Just as a nomadic life isn't for everyone. To each their own. ***I find right angles, white walls and a 9 to 5 soul crushing, but it has taken me most of my life to actualize into a person strong enough to accept being different. Beautiful home.
I love to see peoples alternative ways of living and there's a few channels out there that show tiny houses etc but they are always in New Zealand Australia or USA etc. So nice to see it in the UK! Keep more of these vids coming. 👌👌👌
That's cool!!!) I enjoy watching your videos. Great stuff. A lot of constructions on the land with different purpose. I like the way Reuben made that place so cozy!
This video is a keeper! I grew up in the 60s & 70s 🙃 The Whole Earth Catalog & Mother Earth magazine & books was my entry to living sustainably. His passenger train reminds me of an article where they used an old/antique passenger section as a back yard "getaway". This man's home is his castle. 👍& very well done. TU for sharing 👍
Fantastic! Hard graft has paid off on an amazing Utopian plot! Hoping to find a plot also and do something similar, you half-inched my idea utilizing the redundant Telephone poles!! Nice one, Top Bloke... ;)
Lovely to see a ‘creative thinker’ these people threaten the establishment/established way of living and doing. And Lordy after the last few years we need them……. Great interview.
I'm a yt addict and this is my new favourite channel! Love all your hard work! You should stop the videos very briefly at some point near or after midway to ask for a like, stating it will help with the algorithm - this gets people liking fast!. Your like-to-view ratio should be sooooo much more.

No thanks, I don't want people setting up randomly destroying what little wildlife we have left.
I agree that *some* regulations need to be relaxed, but not all, otherwise we'll end up with all sorts of Mad Max type scenarios!

Let everyone live off grid? Never. The government would no longer have the control it requires to run the system as it currently functions.
