I was stood in the SUFC cop that day with my old man and brother, there were other Leeds fans in there too. When Wallace scored we just looked around and didn't speak. When Gale scored we were jumping up and down going mental.! How we got out in one piece I'll never know. Great days, my old mans gone now he took me to ER when I was 5 yrs old, 1969. Super Leeds.
Away end at bramble lane huge ... Only Leeds and a few others have ever managed to fill it . Even on meaningless fixtures ( unlike this game ) we took all allocation .
I am a Leeds fan, but I have to say: THAT own goal from Gayle is just hilarious! I think he knew exaktly what he was doing... And, yes: he was involved in Leeds first goal too!
Tragic, only 26 he was. I checked it after your post, Mel Rees's illness returned in March, and he led both teams out in Wembley for an all-Sheffield FA Cup semi-final in May before he passed away
Mel Rees got injured from the collision with our player in the first goal so couldn't jump hence him missing the cross for Leeds 2nd and not jumping for the 3rd either..
Wallace was just offside for Leeds 1st goal. The keeper is upfield and there is only one defender back. Though he could have had a penalty a moment before.

Great memory mate, RIP to your old man. MOT
A game of strange goals
What drama that day. Remember it like it was yesterday. Leeds deserved title. We were superb that season. Marching On!!!
This was the first game I ever went to. Sat in the old John Street stand with my dad
Mel Rees RIP.
Sheffield United were as much up for this match as Liverpool were for their match v Man United later that day.
Had to watch this game bit of fortune in this game to
Still convinced that Brian Gayle had bet his House on Leeds winning the Title ;-)
Some atrocious football and laughable goals. But at least they weren't falling over and pretending to be hurt all the time.

I remember watching this in TV
Mel Rhees was a legend fair play to Leeds but I dunno what was going through his mind at the time

The keeper looks well suspect to me 🤣

I was gonna insult you but you're right
Wallace got the ball from Gayle, so how can he be offside then?!
@@staernpeder He got the ball from Leeds no. 11. Should be offside.
Their fans were gutted haha they thougth they couldn`t be beaten :) how wrong they were lmfao
Match fix
Who is the crap commentator for a game like this?
Probably redone for the season video…
