So glad I found this version. I know this song so well & far too many people try to imitate Ian Gillan's version & improv. I loved how this singer used his voice to greatest effect. The contrast between his rich clean sounds with the grit he's able to achieve really leant to adding an extra dimension of emotion & depth of feeling that truly conveyed the meaning & angst of the song. I loved it. Man you've some set of pipes on you. Bravo!
The best Jesus in the world. The best rock voice for the rock opera! He doesn't use falset at all. So emotional and these emotions are delivered straight to us, tears in my eyes and goose bumps, and blond hair just make him totally unique and incomparable. Thank you we love you :)

When I saw this, I felt that it was meaningless to distinguish between superiors and inferiors among gethsemane.
Because...it's the version Jesus would never do haha. That's why after listening to this grim rock version, I think I was able to focus more on the fact that all Gethsemanes had their own strengths. I hope you too can escape the pointless search for the best Gethsemane.

Asi poprvé v životě je mi fuk, že to není originální jazyk.....vnímám jen Kamilův hlas a energii a pro mě je jeho verze je jiná, originální a naprosto TOP a navíc tento výkon i dokonce lepší dává pokaždé a pokaždé mám husinu.
Naprosto úžasné ! Vždycky mi při této písni v jeho podání naskakuje husí kůže. Kamil je extratřída !

Superb. I'm a big fan of Jesus Christ Superstar and hearing Gethsemane sang in another language simply amazing. This the heavy metal version of the song.

Skvělá písnička ze skvělé desky, už je to pár let, co jsem celou desku poslouchala stále dokola a nikdy mě neomrzela a to díky bezvadnému interpretovi Kamilu Střihavkovi. Stále mě baví a fandím mu.
Pane Kamile, už hodinu přemýšlím, co napsat. Je to krásné, překrásmý hlas, nádherný výkon...Viděla jsem i představení, to bere dech, je to obrovský zážitek. Nehledě na to, že jsem si to tak 89x poslechla na kazetě😁. Co to je, zeptaly by se dnešní děti😁.

this is actually 9 years after they started perform in theatre Spirala in Prague. Without doubt one of the best adaptations and not only Kamil Strihavka but also Dan Barta as Judas and Bara Basikova as Mary. 😊👍

I don't recall how I get to this version several years ago... I rembember I didn't understood a single word, for my language is actually spanish, but I was stonished, he's reallly really good.

I fluctuate between this one and John Farnham's being the best Gethsemane versions ever committed to video. I do lean towards this one.

It's so weird. He's belting up to Eb5 if I heard correctly and sounds like he has control up there, yet he didn't go for the famous reinforced falsetto G5. Still, out of all the people who altered those high notes, he did it the best.
He is best czech singer we have, but he doesn't wish to be famous. He just sticks with musicals and keep it low. I agree he is phenomenal

Had the pleasure to see JCS in late 90s in Prague with Kamil, Dan Barta, Bara Basikova.
It was played in really unique space that reminded me AC/DC Thunderstruck video where spectators are on the scaffolding. I think it was called Divadlo Pyramida. Great space, awesome cast. It was my first musical and it still my favorite.

Not a big fan of heavy metal singing, BUT...given the lyrics of the song, and the language, it actually works quite well to really serve up that anguish.

I like emotional performances, but this guy (in my native tongue) is over the top. He is one very angry Jesus. I still prefer the one and only. The first. The best. Ian Gillan. But I will say that this guy is a kick-ass hard rock vocalist!! Not too bad on the eyes either!!

No he can't make the G5. Nevertheless, his performance is simply brilliant. Have you seen Michael K Lee perform this song? You might really like him... This is a very challenging song and I love how Kamil sings it even without hitting the high note.

Kamil Střihavka je velice dobrý zpěvák se specifickým hlasem, ale nějak mě na toto obsazení zcela nesedí... Pokud bych to bral trochu hlouběji, tak z poslechu zpěvu "Ježíše" bych měl cítit jemný, líbivý, uklidňující hlas, který ve mě vyvolá pocit uvolnění a v tomto případě i lítosti. Sorry but i didn't recognize the song! Yes you can and you have to make your own version but not change all the lines! For me the best is Steve Balsamo, he make he's own interpretation but not exactly as Gillian or Neeley, the music is respected, the "will" of the composer are respected. But here, there's not interpretation, no respect, only screaming.. Sorry but no, it's not "amazing"!

Steve Balsamo is unparalleled in his performance of Gethsemane. I am a fan of both Ian and Ted's versions but Steve takes it to a whole other level the man is incredible!!!!!
