We were foster parents for a Vizsla. Some woman was going to have her put down because she was moving into a condo that didn't allow dogs!!!! My mom worked with her and said, "No way!' She brought Silky home and we kept her until mom found a great home for her. Can you imagine putting a dog down for that kind of reason??? Anway, they are sweet and soft. There aren't many Vizslas in the US.

The same people that own a dog, bring said dog to an apartment, dog behaves like, well, a dog by barking and the owners have surgery done to the vocal chords so it weakens the bark. It makes me mad. It's like, what's the fucking point of owning a dog if you're not going to treat it like one? Humans don't deserve dogs, they are such beautiful creatures.
Think about taking a Vizsla. They need a lot of time, human contact. They are extremely fast, not getting tired to run. they need a job to do, and special gentle treatment. It's a very special dog, with the temperament of wild horses

I love how vocal my Vizsla is. He will do the same howl when he wants attention or when he becomes agitated (mostly due to not getting enough attention, for his standards). Vizslas are something else.
There is a different sound for everything!

I was told Vizsla were quite 'vocal' dogs but mines nearly a year old and he's never made any noises like this, he hasn't barked in ages either, he isn't much of a talker as it turns out!

I had an Irish Setter, Arthur- He would do this at sirens when he was in the back of my truck. People would die laughing!
I had an Irish Setter when I was growing up (between the ages of 11 and 24). Always loved the way they were so affectionate and loving, but their bonkersness was a bit much. From what I have seen, Vizslas are the happy medium! Anyway, love dogs.
