- The 2019 Jaguar F-Pace SVR has 550bhp thanks to its supercharged 5.0litre V8 but what is it like to like with over 1000miles? I drove one back to the UK from the launch event in Nice to find out..

Nice gin palace Harry. I feel your pain. I had a canoe once and kept losing things in it. Mars Bars, money, condoms, food, drinks, small animals, fish, lego bricks (don't ask).
We kept ours at the bottom of the garden, under a tree. So we didn't need to flog the old Austin Maxi down to San Tropez.
Seriously Harry. You earned it. You enjoy it and we'll vicariously enjoy it with you :)
Boats can be such a pain at times, whatever size they are 😉
"San Marino"... "Unveiled in Nice"... "We got a boat down here".... "The Testarossa"...
I'm way too plebeian for this.
San _Remo_
Stéphane Edouard was about to comment that. Re hashs point is still valid tho
Yea but he’s so down to earth 😂
He's one of the rare people on UA-cam that deserves what he has earned.
re hash , leftys writhing with envy.
Dam Harry relly has a good life! yacht, sports cars, lovely house! And the worst part a relly nice humble guy.
Yep, you could never begrudge the guy anything...
Exactly what I was thinking. A very rare quality it seems.
Not like that lispy posh boy who collects super cars
Always a pleasure to watch one of Harry's videos. It'd be a lovely car if it was an estate, rather than a van with windows (but then you can't blame Jaguar for selling these things if that's what people buy). Is there anything more tacky than 'carbon trim'? The point of carbon fibre is that it's light if you make the car out of that. It does not 'add lightness' if you stick a bit on a door, paying over a grand to make it look like the inside of a 'pimped-out' Citroen Saxo.
@@r7coo Schmee or whatever his name was? I used to watch his channel a few years ago. He seemed alright to me, sure he had a bit of the posh-boy accent going on but he was always super polite and respectful to everyone. I got sick of him being so clueless about mechanical matters though and he was definitely totally out of touch with the real world the rest of us live in, buying a new supercar every other month, always immediately trading for the latest greatest model before he'd even spent any time with the one he was already getting rid of or so it seemed, so I stopped watching.
"I have no idea what´s in there... lifejackets"
seems handy to know where this kind of stuff is on boat :D
love Harry´s real-worls reviews
I would watch the boat review 👍🏼
Had mine just over two weeks now. This review definitely helped making my mind up! That engine, oh my that engine. I’ve unplugged the exhaust valve control module in the boot so the exhaust valves are always fully open. Get a few more pops and crackles now (not a big fan of those tbh) but the V8 sound is immense from tickover now and goes properly feral above 4k rpm.
Find the ride incredibly supple for a 2T SUV. Mines got the standard 21” wheels. A lot of hot hatch manufacturers should take note and learn from it how to make a car flow with the road as opposed to try and pummel it into submission.
Got 8mpg the other day stuck in heavy traffic-ouch! But when your money is being turned into such wonderful noise who cares!
Just 1 week left till i got mine. Pre Facelift. Ty for your comment
I like how he mentions high fuel prices as he floors it through the tool booth
I have the 2019 SVR and I agree it defies logic! How can such a big car be so dynamic? It looks amazing and draws attention everywhere I go, makes a beautiful noise and is properly fast! I’ve been out on drives with Aston Vantages, Ferrari Portofino, F-Type SVRs etc…and it holds it’s own so well…much to the surprise of the other ‘super car’ drivers…🥰
Standard Operating Procedure for a Jaguar owner.
I like how Harry picks a marina smack dab in the middle of Nice and Genoa for his "boat"..... absolutely beautiful area, and beautiful "boat" Harry.
Man, this man has the life, not one to envy, but to admire.
Lovely car and I like the spec. too. The only Jaguar I've spent any real time in is the XE which really impressed me. I wish Jaguar as a brand every success.
One of the best sounding V8s, simply heavenly 🔥
No matter what I'm viewing on UA-cam, if I see there's a fresh Harry's Garage, I drop what I am doing to see that opening take off and relax for 25 minutes with Harry, aaah.
Mine is almost five years old now, only done 18k miles. Still enjoying every drive. Recently had to get a new battery. Got a puncture so got two rear tyres, still was on the originals. £758. Ouch! Had to drive about 100 miles on the spacesaver wheel at 50mph and the trip computer revealed an astonishing 37mpg. I have achieved over 30mpg on trips from Devon to Heathrow, sticking to the speed limits and driving in a chauffeur like way that my wife likes. When on my own, the mpg can be way less if I have a bit of fun, but this car is such a joy to drive. Favourite gear: third. Tons of torque, supercharger whine evident and a huge speed range in one gear.
Man, I hate when my yacht gets too cluttered. Nothing worse, really.
You've got problems! You should hear my crew when I forget the rum rations
@@chrisneedham5803 One of my maids unplugged the watch winder in my humidor room and all my $1 million Richard Mille watches went dead. I had to wear the latest Apple Watch like a peasant.
@@sullyFL ........... And don't tell me you actually walked around with that thing on in public?
Harry, you’re not only an excellent ambassador for JLR but in reality for the automobile in itself.
As usual the best 20 minutes of the week.
I follow a few folk on UA-cam and rarely end up watching to the end of any videos. Harry, you seem to make me feel like we are sat next to each other having a chat about cars and funnily enough all your videos end up making it to the closing credits! I am positively against most SUVs (Cant see why anyone would choose one over a good estate) but I am still interested to listen what you have to say. Always enjoyed your work through the Evo days. Keep it up and thanks very much.
Got this engine in my XKR and love it. V8’s are not much longer for this world and should be celebrated. Another great vid H 😎👍
Don’t say so. Jaguar has a new 4.4 twin turbo on the way. Or so I’ve heard.
Absolutely brilliant motoring program. As ........always. .........thank you Harry.
I’ve got the same engine in my XF sportbrake and F Type and absolutely love it. Seriously thinking of buying this F Pace.
“I have no idea what’s in here. Oh, life jackets”. Always prepared :) Harry is the most honest UA-camr.
harry makes me want each car he reviews
I just love the way it sounds pulling away at 10:28. Even driving with the windows down I can't hear a sound as good as this inside. What an amazing car though. I have only done a few hundred miles in mine so far and I absolutely love it. Saw an X3M at the petrol station today and was very unimpressed by the looks and the sound. Stupid face mask whipped my glasses off and I didn't even notice and they got driven over. Roll on freedom and I can cover some serious miles. Harry, keep the videos coming you are the best car reviewer around, and this video persuaded me to buy without having a test drive or even seeing the car.
Fantastic video as always - many thanks Harry. Keep up the great work. Those who've just ordered a new 300 Sport will feel like cheap-skates!
I always feel like people like Harry & Jezza have lived the lives of about 3 people as they've done so much. Very lucky people, work hard for it though.
Love Harry's videos - so interesting to hear from a proper car-nut.. at 14:36 we see he's blanked out the speedometer - in the UK, it's illegal to exceed 60 mph (96.5 km/h) on the road where he is, but that car is chuffing fast! Many thanks for your vidoes Harry.
Yeah, I totally get this. Every year I use my Allegro Estate to clear out the rowing boat moored in Southend.
;-)
Show Off!!
Feel your pain Harry, dramas with my boat, forgot the blooming foot pump, had to blow it up with my own lungs, it’s a tough life ...
Harry, this is the most animated I've seen you about a new car in a long time. Great video, love your travel vlogs. You've sold me on the Big Cat :)
Jaguar are making great cars recently, sadly seem to be forgotten about by people - great value!
Wow Harry what a life you have! That engine must be just as addictive ! Thanks for another great adventure.
In fact, when you have the Alfa on test, give me a shout if you want to put it together with my F-Pace SVR. I’m in the Cotswolds too so could be a fun day out! 👍
This would be great 👍🏻
Funny that. I had a 6-cylinder F-Type and traded it for an Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio. I loved driving that in the country; New Zealand! But within 2 months nothing but trouble. I now hate Alfa. I got an F-Type V8 SVR and man oh man, beats everything. It is a pocket rocket and a GT.
And the looks of her; sexy to the max!
most enjoyable car review I have ever watched. Its perfect like your other reviews, thank you. You made my day greater.
Can we see more vids about your boat, please
It looks like a Princess 56
Zilvova this 👍🏼
Another great review Harry. I had a Jag F-Pace as a loaner when my L322 SC was being serviced. Sadly it wasn’t the SVR, but I really liked it. Fit & finish were good, handled very well and as you mentioned, hides its size very well. I preferred the Macan, but both make my Range Rover feel like a bus full of overweight tourists! Cheers from Oregon.
Nice travelogue Harry; that supercharged V8 sounds phenomenal!
Hey, Harry, nice car and boat video ! How can I get in touch with you?
Great review Harry, you have a great way with words describing your emotions and feelings when driving a car. The fact that you use familiar roads around your place gives an opportunity to compare other models like for like 👍
I don’t care for these new car videos. It’s the classics that make me follow your great content. I guess the views will determine the future.
Next two are classics but I like to mix them around. Dipping into new stuff keeps you up to speed as to what's going on but I only feature stuff I really want to drive, rather than what might get most views
Big Harry with a lovely Panerai on his wrist. Best in the business.
And a modest yacht on top of it. Life is good!
S S Panerais are not particularly good watches. ETA movements. Overpriced. Style over substance. A bit like the Audi of the watch world.
@@johngreer6689 I'm not overly fond of them either and am aware that they're nothing special in terms of movements in the lower end of the range, but there's something about them with the right wearer. Harry's got a nice collection of Rolex etc. on the side.
S S Patek Philippe or Audemars Piquet are much better.
S S Apparently doing very well.
You only have to read the great comments your videos generate to understand how much we all love your content. I am not going to let it go Harry. You need to find that Jensen to film.
Loved it Harry, excellent as always!
Another terrific and personal in-depth review. So much better than the "I have 2 hours to do this" that other reviewers have posted. That SS28 road in Italy looks interesting. Might have to explore that in the summer.
The increased tax on fuel was the main reason for the start of the Gilets Jaunes protests in France. UK people mostly wondered "Why the Yellow Jackets?", not realising that every (legal) driver in France has to carry a yellow safety jacket, so they are on hand.
It's nice to see Jaguar going for "halo" spec vehicles again. They need to, or be forever consigned to Also Rans. I just wish they'd do one for the XF. That XF chassis with 500+ BHP... mmmmmm... About this time last year in the UK they dropped the 3 litre supercharged V6 XF petrol, just as the anti diesel mob were at their peak. Bad timing or what? Maybe in the upcoming XF update we'll see something.
I have been researching my next car purchase since the covid-19 lockdown started. The SVR is a big contender. Very enjoyable review. Thanks Harry.
Thanks Harry! Let me boil the kettle, make a tea and settle down on the couch for what will be another great episode
Same here. Looking forward to another trip with a cuppa. Its better than the tv most nights.
Who loves car trips knows exactly what means having lots of bugs smashed on the front.
How I love your videos and comments, Harry! Great content as always!
Let’s hear it for our Harry! Keeps delivering the goods
I borrowed one of these cars from Jaguar for the day. What a car! A real event to drive, I’m not an SUV fan at all but I would consider one of these, it’s hard to imagine anything faster and more practical in the real world.
Nice relaxed voice and excellent pacing. A thoroughly enjoyed this video.
Too many videos seem to scream and shout presenting a vehicle.
I'm looking for this particular SVR now.
Thank you for the video.
I actually cracked up at the... pause.. "two hoovers too many" lol
The way that hooks up is just crazy
Great video Harry.
I love it when the car that you are reviewing is taken on a proper road trip.
F Pace SVR seems like a great performance SUV, I wouldn’t pick white if I were specking the car. Let’s hope that it takes the fight to Porsche and AMG.
"Trouble with boats" How nice to be able to say that, see what I did there!!! Love the video, just good honest stuff. In all seriousness, one thing I would leave, and you may think you'll never need them, and that is the survival suits, if it all went tits up you could float for hours without issues in them in the worst storms ever.
Keep 'em coming Harry.
Thanks for the kind words! Just to reassure you, there are three 6-man life rafts with automatic deployment on board, plus 24 life-jackets, hence why I felt two old and decrepit survival suits were surplus to requirements..
@@harrysgarage I think you have covered the safety requirements Harry, all the best.
We don't have the cosmopolitan different country every day driving experience in Australia but at least our fuel is a bit cheaper here. F Pace SVR....gimme gimme! One of the few cars I lust after. Far better looking than any German rival. Enjoy your reviews and your enthusiasm Harry.
Don't think Harry's idea of 'real world' is quite the same as mine, but I love these reviews.
Great review , what a car , what an engine , very very nice 👍
The Empire Strikes back.
Jaaags are back !!!
Harry, the type of guy who has a boat in San Remo
It’s strange how JLR give Range Rover the best interior and give Jaguar a lower rent interior. Yet Jaguars used to be known for having the best interiors in the business with fine wood and leather, while Range Rovers barely came with carpets?
Seymour Beaver Yeah-but the new Rovers are luxury oriented and the lousy reliability continues in spades.
@@RootBeerGMT Reliability has improved a lot and today I think its better than the germans.
@@daakuredpanda5782 reliability surveys would suggest both JLR and BMW etc are terrible.
Ah the Bromptons from that drive with the Testarossa. I had wondered where they'd gone. Great video as usual.
Let's all have a whip around for poor Harry. (I love seeing someone this nice showing us how to live. Good on ya, Harry!)
That Jag looks hot, looks like it moves real good, and sounds great
THIS IS A REALLY, REALLY GOOD VIDEO. AND YOU HAVE JUST CHANGED MY MIND ABOUT THE F-PACE. I JUST DON'T LIKE THE NAME. BEING A XKE V12 OWNER OF SEVERAL OVER THE YEARS. I AM NOW GOING TO CONSIDER THIS ONE FOR A HALF WAY ACROSS COUNTRY TRIP. *I NEED SOME RRRROOOOM AND VAROOOOOM!!!*
I think we saw you having a coffee outside La Civette in St Jean on Tuesday 16th as we drove past in our white xk120
Thank you for another entertaining and educational half-hour. Keep them coming.
Harry really enjoyed the video great scenery and that engine it's orgasmic
I hate it when I find another locker on my boat too 😎 great video Harry....living the dream.
I can only dream of owning a Brompton
Drove the same way back from Monaco just a few days earlier. Up until Aosta, then back home to Switzerland. Great roads indeed. Very scenic as well.
That’s not a boat Harry, it’s a ship
You're my inspiration to work hard harry! Good on you!
Road trip! Love the road trip videos! More please
Very Enjoyable Harry .. following on from your diversion into Farm Machinery .. I'd love to see something similar on about your boat ..
That's a great idea , Harry are you up for this ?
"A gentleman of means, may never have too many hoovers!" - Theodore Rosevelt!
Yeah I was also surprised Harry knew that quote, but Harry is Harry!
Harry , you are living the tough life but someone's gotta do it 😎
Harry you could review a golf cart and it would be a great watch . Thanks for the new videos
You could listen to twerps like Doug and Hoovie or you can follow a true gentlemen like Harry that has lived the life and knows how to drive. Harry is what we all what to be at his age, true baller.
Hoovie plays in the same League for me. Self Ironie is Not posh
Great review as always. I’ve not driven this car, but have had some experience with the sport svr and f pace in non svr spec. I can imagine this is a great 1 car garage package. Surprises me when you hear the car from outside that you hear the supercharged whine. I don’t notice that from inside the cabin.
Looking forward to the next review!
I have cycled round Chamonix , great place to stay.
What else could you want Harry :) Thanks for sharing
Fantastic video of this amazing car. Thank you!
Great review Harry. Certainly the cream of the crop, aesthetically in my opinion.
Thanks Harry what a sound
Nice review, as always. Thanks Harry!
Would love a Harry’s ‘Marina’ on the boat 🙌
Would like to see an E pace svr
I just melt when I see a new Jaguar in Tesco's. As a trucker Aosta is coffee and customs. F-pace is the real darling and gently crafted and a sexy future to any new pure brit. And You know who you are!? I have the T-Shirt. My Sister calls them Shaguar's. x
Beautiful driving roads!
I've bought a euromillions ticket for tonight...I'd love to be specing one of these up. It's the only SUV that floats my boat right now...currently drive a Sportbrake. Now if they did a Sportbrake SVR...
Anyone know this weeks Lotto numbers...I want one!!!! Stunning and superbly described. Cheers, Bob
Great video review and quite a few areas you covered which I didn’t pick up on in my 1600 miles of driving it & reviewing. Great work, looking forward to the next episode. Shame couldn’t get the Alfa Stelvio at the same time though. I’m hoping to repeat my Sport SVR Vs F-Pace SVR drag video with the Alfa later this month to really see which is quickest. 👍
Look forward to it.
no need to test which is quickest, its very clear
Andys, great which video do I need to see please as I’ve not seen it yet?
more engines like this please
Good choice to move the boat to Italy!
Oh.......and back to blasting along the B4437 again - great little bit of road isn't it?
I’ve had a look at a couple of these now and the white ones, including this one all look like the front has a huge gap between the body and the bonnet.
Beautiful car ! Thank You 👍
Thanks Harry, great video...
Nice review, quite like these!
Very nice, but I still wouldn't swap my E63s amg estate for one.
There's something about a fast estate car that does it for me over any suv I've ever seen.
How funny - I was just thinking the same - I've just nipped back from Livigno in the Alps to my UK house, (ten miles from Harry) in my mildly chipped E350 CDI, with about 650n/m on tap - drove with wife and kids in one hit; just under 800 miles - didn't feel long enough... Oh, and Livigno is tax free, so super diesel was 88 cents per litre at 40 mpg. As always, thanks for posting, Harry.
E63S AMG Estate is an awesome ride. Enjoy in good health m8. Unfortunately where I live need to have some more ground clearance.
Many enthusiasts feel the same but performance estates don't sell in big enough numbers outside Europe, hence why the performance SUV exists and is the bigger segment in the market. It's a numbers game, as ever, but I loved my V10 RS6 back in evo days and prefer my family car to be a diesel Range Rover but with a proper sports car parked beside it.
@@harrysgarage
I agree 100 % Harry!
No better daily driver than a RR TDV8 in real life for me. Maybe escorted by a Abarth 500 for the narrow short distance drives downtown ;-)
Best regards from Austria, Gerhard
I'm surprised you liked the v10 rs6 Harry.
I had one myself and it maybe sounds daft, but I found it almost too efficient and lacking personality. The engine never sounded up to much either, even after I fitted Milltek exhausts.
I've always preferred my e63's and have been fortunate to own one of every body shape.
They just seem to have so much more character than the Audi, especially in the noise department.
Being in a wheelchair, paralysed from the upper chest down due to a work accident, I dread the day performance estates die, as no matter how good the fast suv's are, they're just too high for me to get in.
Pure, understated class. Nice. :)
You gotta larf "the performance is really nice" like neil said about apollo 11
Hands down the most handsome SUV on the market. Those shut lines in the front are bothering me though. Yet and stil I’ll take this along with a manual FType Coupe.
