49ers have a bunch of guys in the top 15, including Jerry Rice as #1- Steve Young is a great QB, but he's not on the top of the mountain- he's at that 2nd level along with guys like Jim Kelly Troy Aikaman and Kurt Warner. And he's only there because he has won a ring in the 94 season all by his lonesome. If he never won that lombardi in 94, he would be in the 3rd level with guys like Donovan McNabb, Rich Gannon and Steve McNair.
LOL. Steve young to Jim Kelly? And your argument is hilarious " if he didn't win the super bowl in 1994...". What kind of argument is this? He DID WIN it. There is no "if" plus he led the league in passer rating twice and at one point had the highest completion % in NFL history after he retired.
Aikman better than Young? lol There is no way that Aikman should be ranked better than Young using a one on one comparison. Comparing their stats is a joke. Young's career passer rating is 15 points higher than Troy's, he has 67 more TD passes and 34 less INT's than Troy as well as 43 rushing TD's to Troy's 9. Troy may have played for better teams for a few years in the early 90's, but that doesn't make Troy better.
Troy played in a totally different offense, which was mainly built around Emmitt Smith and the running game. He won't have the same stats as Young, who's offense was built around the passing game. If Young played in Dallas, he would have produced different stats. Both are legends so saying one is better than the other is pointless.
Yeah... lol my Dad played with him at BYU. Pops was a redshirt Sr and he was a true freshman. Said Steve actually sucked hella bad in the beginning. Almost quit football after not getting selected to travel to Hawaii to play. Love you Uncle Steve!
No way Steve Young is #81, put him maybe #20-25, but not #81. BTW, Steve Young's Superbowl performance is unparalleled, 7 TD passes, even Joe Cool only had 5 or 6. Had the Niners stayed healthy in 96 and 97, chances are he would have had a second ring to go with the first one.
drlee2 That’s because the real Super Bowl in those days was in the NFC championship game between the 49ers and Cowboys (or NY Giants in the 1980s-early 90s)!

(2) The only time the 49ers got “destroyed,” Aikman was OUT WITH A CONCUSSION, once again proving that Aikman was just along for the ride on a great TEAM. (3) Those two losses by Young were with him playing with a defense that ranked worse than the midpoint in defensive rankings, while the Cowboys for top or near it.
