    This looks like it is the core concept of Chum Kiu.

    Mr. Kaufman you are one of my favorite Marital Artists of all time. I have so much respect and admiration for you and your CST teaching methods. Even though I have never been lucky enough to meet you in person, after watching and studying your UA-cam videos countless times over the years you have opened my eyes to what Wing Chun can and should be. I have tried learning the CST method online at Mindful Wing Chun run by Nima King, who I also admire greatly, but since I have no training partners nor friends interested in WC near me to practice with, I have been limited to only solo training making progress or feedback very difficult. Thank you so much for sharing this instructional gem with us, and I am so glad to see you posting videos again.

    Hello John. It is nice to see and hear you even though it's just through a UA-cam video. I hope you and the family are doing well. I really enjoyed the video.

    What's your opinion on the tom myers deep front line..
    Is that the engine we use in wing chun. Along with ligaments stretch reflex...i would love to discuss this with u.. is chi just the ability to control your fascias Consciously

    In CST how are you able to strike with incredible strength? Is it to do with the glutes and fascia?

    • @johnkwc
      @johnkwc  Рік тому +1

      No, it's to do with connecting the whole body and moving the center of mass.

    I hear you using the terms Sung and Peng like they do in Tai Chi. Based on what you're saying, it sounds the same too. Would you cultivate these things in the same way too? By zhan zhuang standing practice (among other things)?

    • @johnkwc
      @johnkwc  Рік тому +2

      Yes, you can cultivate these principles by standing practice as well as other methods. There are many boats to cross the river.

      @@johnkwc - I've heard from the mindful wing chun side that the "snake engine" is sort of different from the power that tai chi generates. I'd love to hear you speak on this topic if you ever want to make some videos just talking about your experiences and perspective

    Also, what's the science beyond this? Surely you're doing more than relaxation?

    • @johnkwc
      @johnkwc  Рік тому +4

      It is not a "floppy" relaxation. It is a complete release/opening ("sung") of all body parts and muscles, then the internal expanding occurs in all directions simultaneously so, in that condition, when you move your center, power is expressed as the body's weight is involved an any/all movement.
