    Fantastic video, exactly what I was looking for. Pretty nice to see the difference between a competition and a "pet" dog. Most times watching your videos I need to keep in mind that your Mals are competition dogs with a high level of energy (what you're looking for) instead of a pet Mal (what I'm looking for). Cheers!

    I’ve always had Boxers which are great companions. Now that my three Boxers have passed I want a Malinois as a working dog. I know the training takes dedication but I’m ready to put the time in.

      It’s about time training BUT also it’s really about lifestyle with the Malinois. You can train them all day but if their lifestyle is off that’s when you run into problems 🙏🏼

    Thank you for the video. I never played tug with my 17 month old (pet, not working) white swiss shepherd before and am just starting now. First time I showed her the firehose tug toy, she was confused what I wanted to do since I normally take the ball out instead. I think I need to find a softer toy. There's always something new I'm learning as your average pet owner.
    Also I love the video intro! The video editing is great. Any plans to add a short outro? You could totally use canva to make a personalized image so you can put your subscribe button and the end cards.

    I've been wondering how y'all get a dog to release so fast. Going to work on it (after finding two similar soft tugs). What is the next step once she's good at switching (switching without seeing the toy)? Thank you for this great video.

      Next step is using only one toy

  • @yellowbanana5415

    How vital is the leash in a session like this? Is it needed or can you do the same session without it,i do sessions like this regularly and my dog really thrives from it but ive never used a leash while doing it.

    • @AndyKrueger
      @AndyKrueger  2 роки тому +2

      Depends on the dog. If your dog readily brings the toy back and does not have a desire to leave, you don’t need it. If your dog is constantly trying to leave with the toy, it’s crucial!

    How do I get my dog to bite with her back teeth without pushing the toy further into her mouth? Another video said pushing it in will cause the dog discomfort, uninterest or something like that negative. I just started mine to tug just for fun and she uses a random bite each time so far. Front, Middle, Back. If back is the best workout, I'd prefer her to do that.

    Dog feels e collar at a low stim during a well known behavior he’s eager to do then all of a sudden he doesn’t feel that same stim. I don’t want to Jack up the levels especially when he already shows reaction to low stim. I have a EZ-900 fully charged. What’s going on?

    • @AndyKrueger
      @AndyKrueger  2 роки тому +2

      This can happen with ecollars sometimes. I’d try adjusting the spot where the collar is located on the dogs neck.

    love the video! Just curious how come you dont have any bedding or blankets in the crates?

    • @AndyKrueger
      @AndyKrueger  2 роки тому +3

      I NEVER put bedding/ blankets in a crate of a dog who is IN TRAINING! It’s a recipe for disaster. They can shred/ tear it up (which teaches to vent stress through destruction) go to the bathroom on it (which teaches them not to worry about potty in the crate) or worst of all consume part of it which can cause a fatal blockage. Puppies/ dogs actually prefer a ‘hard’ surface to lay on, they were built for that. 🙌🏻🙌🏻

    • @AndyKrueger
      @AndyKrueger  2 роки тому +2

      @@sophia-mariapavelka3534 I understand. Calm is the name of the game. Growling, thrashing, pulling, chewing are all behaviors that lead to a hectic dog. 5 min sessions 2x day 4 days per week is best. Your only goal is to get the dog relaxed and comfortable playing with you. Then once the dog is in the ideal mindset (maybe 3 months of work) you can work more on the actual grip and extend the time of the sessions 👍🏻👍🏻 This dog will teach you WAY more than a dog that does everything no matter what you do 🙏🏼

      @@AndyKrueger I only get the SUPER handler sensitive dogs. 💁‍♀️ they are great teacher. At the moment I only let go of the toy when she is pushing towards me. She will come back, but I have a leash on her all of the time. Her grip is only deep when I carass her face. She doesn't growl 90% of the time. If she does, I kneel down and soften my grip a little so she will push against the toy again which I praise. She doesn't hold the toy calmly yet. I think I have to try walking with her and the toy
