A quick heads to everyone flying into Lisbon these days. The passport control lines are getting very long so have some patience.
Your video is helpful if not discouraging news. Epassport machines can ONLY be used if you entered the EU via Portugal. I don't see this kind of reporting anywhere else.
When I returned from the UK to Porto in May, E-Passaports was closed too. I'm wondering if they have ever used it.
It seems about 50% of the time they are working. When they are, only 2-3 work, with 5 not in service or open to be used.
Looks all too familiar. 😢 If possible, recommend entering PT via Porto, Faro or connecting through another European airport (e.g., Madrid or Zurich). 🛂
Heading back on Monday and I really hope the e-passport line is working!
