- This weapon is so good to the point that you can use it an almost every build
Strength,Dexterity, Int or Faith it doesnt really matter.
And that applies to ashes of war too!

Knight's Greatsword and by extension The Banished Knight's Greatsword are truly some weapons of all time. 10/10

Y’all probably don’t know this one but back in the ds3 days we used to have a knight’s greatsword moveset AND claymore’s R2 in the same weapon 😔

you're just VERY unlikely to see that shit in pvp cause of the triple split damage(horrendous in ds3 outside or crits) and lowest or 2nd lowest range iirc?
This greatsword is so versatile, gives me so many options for different playstyles and builds. Truly a goated weapon.
The true combo slaps especially for status effect builds.

this is perfect as a Rebellion for any Dante cosplayers, plus it has SSStylish™ combos as showcased in the video
It occurs to me I forgot to mention this. For those among you that enjoy the kgs but want just a touch more range, fear not! If you happen to mill about minor erdtrees you may notice a bunch of funny flower men milling about with golden spears in their hands, these spears are known as guardian swordspears, and they happen to have a very similar moveset and speed paired with the range of a halberd. Quite useful for those that enjoy the viability and versatility of the sword but desire a pinch more range. Being dex scaling these spears are best paired with either keen or lightning affinities with keen edging out lighting in the ar department. For best results go keen and buff with lightning grease or any of the lightning buffs.

@@lawbinson If you don't like using grease you can use poisonous/chilling mist as both have hyper armor and are super oppressive. Another option if you like me have encountered shield pokers and hate them with the fury of a thousand suns is impaling thrust and piercing fang. Of the two fang has longer reach and hits harder, however both have extremely obvious tells and a smart poker will do their best to avoid it or if using a small/medium shield may try to parry you. If you want to go either impaling or piercing but still don't wanna use grease then I recommend vyke's dragonbolt blessing as it grants you the lightning damage and lowers your encumbrance, however the trade off is that you'll take increased lightning damage so just keep that in mind.

@@lawbinson Any time brother, if you haven't burned down lyendell yet you might also luck into the flower chest armor from one of the guardians on the branch leading to the godfrey phantom. pretty useful for health regen shenanigans from what im told

BKGS has more damage for a strength build for a hair less range.
Oh how I wish more swords had the two handed❤ R1 moveset. Especially the Flamberge and Forked sword (they both have inate bleed of course).
Only way this weapon could be better would be if they gave it a thrust R2. Look at that sharply tapered point, it is practically begging to stab!
Personally i'd prefer they didn't make it another poke weapon. Best to leave that to the claymore rather tahn double down on the tiresome poke meta.
The reinforcement down the center also indicates that it was designed to stab. I love Fromsoft, but they rarely do their homework on western weapons

Pretty sure the no skill aow is only there for sword shield combos for a 100% safe block counter and the use of the weapon aow

Wait did I miss smth? This weapon was underrated? It was pretty meta since the discovery of the jump attack combo. And putting spinning slash on it makes it more chucky cheese than anything, spinning slash is just that dumb now

In all fairness, the facr that nearly every move on a GS has hyper armor, makes it just as cheese as other weapons, not moonveil, but close. In my opinion of course.
The thing is that the pressure it applies really depends on the player you are against, it is strong in the right hands but not braindead as dual spears
