  • Beautiful day out on the Brighton East Arm and finally caught fish that's actually worth mentioning. Even when I was leaving I saw someone catch a decent size smooth-hound which I didn't get on film. All in all, definitely a location I'd recommend around this time of year. This was filmed on the 3rd July 2021

      @@HoldernessCodFather Yeah I literally had no idea, thought you could take home any fish as long as it was above the minimum size. At least you were more understanding than some of the people on Facebook, they went to task when they found out I didn’t put it back, most were nice to be fair though. And yes more videos to come thank you. Was meant to go fishing today but woke up a little too late

    Great video fella your get to know your fish in time! Baiting up your hooks will get easier get a ruler with the legal size fish you can take anyway stay safe can't wait to watch your next video fella 🌊🐟🎣👍🏻😎

      @thefishingbarrel6419  2 роки тому +1

      Yeah tbh I’m definitely getting better at baiting up slowly. Used to take me forever to get them worms on the hook but I think it was more cause I was a little too squeamish about touching them now I’m not that fussed I just rinse my hands off in the sea and keep it moving 😂. And thank you very much mate, I just shot a video in Seaford yesterday where I was catching non stop mackerel, will be posting that up tomorrow. Stay safe

    Great video mate I grew up fishing Brighton and never had a fish like that off the arm! If you’re wanting to catch a lot just for the sport but aren’t good eating try dropping a like straight down from the wall using rag or lug you’ll catch lots of wrasse, pouting, blenny etc… also, you could use them such as the pout for live bait to catch bass or conger there. Looking forward to more videos!

    • @thefishingbarrel6419
      @thefishingbarrel6419  2 роки тому

      Yeah a few people told me they were doing that, dropping the line straight down or were dropping a net straight down. Ive never actually used a drop net but have to learn how to put one of them together eventually haha. Thank you for the comment brother appreciate it 😁

    Nice one and well done on those lovely fish 👍🎣 It was probably a spider crab that snipped the hook off your pulley rig. Pop up beads can help avoid this, or another solution is to slide an SRT spring over your snood line and sit it down against the hook knot. Then, using some power gum, make a sliding knot over the line and sit it against the top of the spring to keep it in place.

    • @thefishingbarrel6419

      Cheers bro and thanks for the advice, gonna look that up and see if I can find a video on it or something, a little confused cause I haven’t actually heard of some of those things but I’m sure I’ll figure it out

    • @justtheonepollock
      @justtheonepollock 2 роки тому +1

      @@thefishingbarrel6419 You're welcome buddy! A pop up bead is just a floatation bead that sits next to your hook and allows the bait to move off the bottom and away from crabs. A SRT spring is used for rig making and is a bit like the spring found in a pen and will protect the line from being snipped. Power gum is just an elastic line that you can use to make stop knots.

    Better off with a drop net if you can't land on the beach very hard on the fish dragging them up if your not going to keep them good fishing mate 🙂

    The green thing is a bait stop you push it up and thread your worm on then push the bead down onto it stops the worm slipping up on the line when casting

    hi fella watching this video as i type, next time you there take a drop net bait it and drop it through the cutting in the wall what you tied the tent too and you will see why your bait is getting munched up by loads of crabs and lobs

      When I fished I was there for 8 hours maybe more and I didn’t need a ticket. Maybe give some of the local shops a call or go in there and ask if it’s still free parking though as I don’t think there are actually signs saying it’s free.
