Fishing at Brighton Marina East Arm, East Sussex - UK Tour Episode 3

- Beautiful day out on the Brighton East Arm and finally caught fish that's actually worth mentioning. Even when I was leaving I saw someone catch a decent size smooth-hound which I didn't get on film. All in all, definitely a location I'd recommend around this time of year. This was filmed on the 3rd July 2021

this is a good watch , i'm learning myself to fish after a ten year break ...
Thanks mate, I’m sure it will come back to you very fast
Great video James just shows you it ain't over till it over. Well done on the ray and the bream.
Also well done for being so open and honest about the ray if you don't know you don't know mate. Keep them coming pal 👍
Thank you. Yep you literally never know haha. And appreciate your kind words, gonna try do a little more studying when I’m home, don’t wanna make that mistake again.
@@thefishingbarrel6419 the thing is you didn't know mate also it could of died like I have had fish do but they don't go to waste.
Love the videos mate 👌 keep them coming 👍
@@HoldernessCodFather Yeah I literally had no idea, thought you could take home any fish as long as it was above the minimum size. At least you were more understanding than some of the people on Facebook, they went to task when they found out I didn’t put it back, most were nice to be fair though. And yes more videos to come thank you. Was meant to go fishing today but woke up a little too late
Hello James, i've just found your channel, subbed and shared this video, which was cracking btw.
Thank you for the sub and share mate. Excited to go through your videos and see what footage you’ve got, the first video I saw looked great so I’m sure it’s more of the same keep it up!
Good video bruv was a bream definitely
Yeah I thought as much to be honest, I feel like bream have more of a flat look than bass. Thank you pal!
Great video fella your get to know your fish in time! Baiting up your hooks will get easier get a ruler with the legal size fish you can take anyway stay safe can't wait to watch your next video fella 🌊🐟🎣👍🏻😎
Yeah tbh I’m definitely getting better at baiting up slowly. Used to take me forever to get them worms on the hook but I think it was more cause I was a little too squeamish about touching them now I’m not that fussed I just rinse my hands off in the sea and keep it moving 😂. And thank you very much mate, I just shot a video in Seaford yesterday where I was catching non stop mackerel, will be posting that up tomorrow. Stay safe
Nice one dude, i don't fish the arm that much as its getting a bit busy , i fish more dover way , not busy , keep em coming.
Thank you. Yeah that arm was very very busy that day you’re right. I love Dover, that was the first place I ever went sea fishing, caught plenty of mackerel there
Well done bruv black bream and a lovely undulate ray stunning markings on it.👍
Thank you pal.. yeah It’s a beautiful fish!
Well done mate Thanks for you honesty regarding the Ray Hope the fine is not too big lol
Thank you pal! And I’m not worried if it’s too big I’ll just be forwarding it to you haha all the best!
Lovely fish and great video captured the excitement perfectly cheers Paul 👍👍🐠🐠
Thank you very much. Just watched your video, very engaging can’t wait to see what you have for us next!
Great video again !!! Learning & enjoying
Yes cuz! 😁
It is us who helped with the Ray fish 😆
Nice one mate hopefully we'll see you again at Brighton Marina
Ahh yeah I remember mate haha good thing you was there to be honest I probably wouldn’t have been able to reel it up the side 😂 Hope you’re all good mate and yeah when I’m back there again might run into you
great video James well done not everybody can get it right about fish well done
Thank you very much mate just subbed over at your channel!
Your very lucky to have that beautiful ray mate 👍👍 plus your doing well mate,
Yeah that was definitely my biggest catch, thank you!
Nice Bream and a beauty of Undulate mate
Thank you very much! Was my first time catching a ray so was very happy!
Great video mate I grew up fishing Brighton and never had a fish like that off the arm! If you’re wanting to catch a lot just for the sport but aren’t good eating try dropping a like straight down from the wall using rag or lug you’ll catch lots of wrasse, pouting, blenny etc… also, you could use them such as the pout for live bait to catch bass or conger there. Looking forward to more videos!
Yeah a few people told me they were doing that, dropping the line straight down or were dropping a net straight down. Ive never actually used a drop net but have to learn how to put one of them together eventually haha. Thank you for the comment brother appreciate it 😁
Thanks for the useful info.
No worries, thank you for watching!
Nice one and well done on those lovely fish 👍🎣 It was probably a spider crab that snipped the hook off your pulley rig. Pop up beads can help avoid this, or another solution is to slide an SRT spring over your snood line and sit it down against the hook knot. Then, using some power gum, make a sliding knot over the line and sit it against the top of the spring to keep it in place.
Cheers bro and thanks for the advice, gonna look that up and see if I can find a video on it or something, a little confused cause I haven’t actually heard of some of those things but I’m sure I’ll figure it out
@@thefishingbarrel6419 You're welcome buddy! A pop up bead is just a floatation bead that sits next to your hook and allows the bait to move off the bottom and away from crabs. A SRT spring is used for rig making and is a bit like the spring found in a pen and will protect the line from being snipped. Power gum is just an elastic line that you can use to make stop knots.
@@justtheonepollock oh ok thank you mate, yeah that flotation bead I’m definitely gonna be getting cause I’m constantly getting my bait chewed off by crabs, sometimes within just a few minutes
Better off with a drop net if you can't land on the beach very hard on the fish dragging them up if your not going to keep them good fishing mate 🙂
Yeah that’s true didn’t think about that all that weight just hanging on the hook.. thanks for the advice mate
@@thefishingbarrel6419 anytime mate
The green thing is a bait stop you push it up and thread your worm on then push the bead down onto it stops the worm slipping up on the line when casting
Ohhh ok yeah that makes sense cheers!
hi fella watching this video as i type, next time you there take a drop net bait it and drop it through the cutting in the wall what you tied the tent too and you will see why your bait is getting munched up by loads of crabs and lobs
Yeah loads of people were catching crabs that day, I even caught one or two
@@thefishingbarrel6419when you get out next let me know we will come and join you
@@anythingoutdoors783 cheers mate, probably get back out again next month
Nice videos bro , I get a lot of tips of the shore hunter , mite help you out 👊
Chap you had a black bream
Ohh it was a black bream yeah. Thank you brother
Hay buddy just subbed ya sent over from the autistic angler
REALLY sorry for the late reply mate but thanks a lot buddy, just subbed over to your channel too keep it up!
How did you get into fishing bro?
I was passing a lake one day in Essex that said you can fish there. Ended up giving it a go and enjoyed it then found out about beach fishing and been going ever since. This was probably about 3 years ago I first went.
@@thefishingbarrel6419 nice bro, good to see someone of a similar background to me enjoying fishing too, I got into it back when I was a kid in essex too lol, I caught my first fish on a homemade fishing rod. Then I got into sea fishing in uni. It's nice to get away sometimes and get the rods out. All the best
@@abuasfur7334 I bet at uni you didn’t hear one other person say they go fishing init haha it’s just not that common but yeah definitely love getting a day away from London and just enjoying the sights
if you fishing 7 to 8 hours can i park marina car park which said MAX 4 hours will i get a tacket
Yes mate you can park there as long as you want if you are using the marina facilities.
When I fished I was there for 8 hours maybe more and I didn’t need a ticket. Maybe give some of the local shops a call or go in there and ask if it’s still free parking though as I don’t think there are actually signs saying it’s free.
Crab 🦀 stealing your squid 🦑 and don’t cast far just cast about 20 meters from wall
Crabs always causing problems haha makes sense though there were plenty plenty crabs out there that people were catching that day. I always think the further you cast out the better haha but I will try cast out not so far next time I there and see how that goes, appreciate the advice!
Bream
Yeah thought it looked more like a bream than a bass haha thank you!
Bream legal size 24 cm
Oh ok so it’s 24cm thank you!
