- He is Medium Weight Heals Guy, and this is his healer. He's pretty much a reverse Ghostbuster. Hes the most important person ever and you should worship him. Please Mr Scout, don't run off and take the Med Pack I need to not die, it's kinda important.

Oh yeah I totally forgot about Bioshock! Truth be told I've never played any of the Bioshock games all the way through (except for Infinite).

I used to main him, but the lack of unlockable weapons (and therefore lack of unique combinations) means a stale playstyle over time. Now I only play medic if i need to, and not for fun anymore

It might be worth noting the Quick Fix has exposed ceramic insulators on the backpack, which are a classic mad scientist staple.
Also, the medic used it in the "Meet The Medic" short animation, instead of the stock medic gun.

There's a theory I heard that the kritzkrieg's little cover on the nozzle is actually a jar of jarate
I prefer the idea that it's australium
From what I understand in a scrapper meet the medic short it shows that some spilled ingredients were accidentally mixed together and created whatever is used to power the healing beam in general. Meaning that most likely all mediguns would have some jarate in them. Of course that was a scrapped Medic short so who’s to say.

*Things You Missed:*
*Syringe Gun:* For whatever reason, Medic only "reloads" the air canister; he never physically replaces the drum that contains the actual needles. There have been people who have made versions of the Syringe Gun based off the Medic's in real life, but as far as I'm aware most of them are not capable of holding 40 needles per drum. Additionally, concept art suggests there was to be some sort of air line that was attached to the underside of the pistol grip.
*Blutsauger:* The in-game files indicate there is an unused team-colored projectile the Blutsauger was meant to fire.
*Overdose:* The Overdose was originally brought up to the Team Fortress 2 Beta under the very unique and original name, "Beta Syringe Gun".
*Crusader's Crossbow:* The festive variants shoot extremely pointy candy-canes. (I wonder if you can taste the peppermint...)
*Medi-Gun:* Concept art suggests the Medi-gun has seen virtually no visual changes since it was drawn up (save for the addition of a fore-grip).
*Kritzkreg:* According to a Goldrush screenshot, the original name was going to be "Critzcrieg". Interviews with Valve show this weapon very nearly went in a different direction: the original concept was a Medi-Gun modified so it had two nozzles on the end. This version would have allowed for up to 200% overheal (compared to the standard 150%), with said overheal not decaying; in exchange, Uber would have been severely worsened, if not entirely removed. Playtesting didn't apparently go well, and the idea was scrapped. The model of the Kritzkreg (that little attachment on the nozzle) still bears the filename "overhealer". The taunt (Oktoberfest!) was also originally intended for the standard Medi-Gun.
*Quick-Fix:* The name "quick fix", referring to hurried or temporary fix for a problem or injury; these solutions may not always work or, even prove ineffective to stopping the problem entirely. This is referenced by the fact that the Ubercharge can still result in the death of both the Medic and his patient if enough damage is taken. The TF2Beta originally titled this weapon as "Megahealer"; a second version of the Quick-Fix also appeared in the Beta, under the name "Beta Quick-Fix". The Beta Quick-Fix was similar, except it had an increased Uber-build rate of 40% (instead of 25%). As for why it managed to produce an Uber in "Meet the Medic", but not in-game: the official explanation is that the Uber feature shorted out after its first use.
*Vaccinator:* The version on the workshop was full of a yellow-brown substance (likely coffee), and came in two different styles (one with a black hose, and one with a clear hose that contained more coffee). There was also three separate colored beams that were to be used, with the colored beam indicated the resistance in effect; this was not used and instead the beam is just the standard team-colored one that is also used by the Kritzkreg and the Quick-Fix. MVM also introduced new shield colors for the Two Cities update, which would have served the same purpose (a given color correlated with the resistance in use). Despite there being in-game files for Vaccinator Medic-bots, they are unused. Weirder still is that the weapon they would have used isn't in the game's Item schema; spawning the Medic-bots with the Vaccinator will just simply cancel out _all_ damage from the selected resistance.
*Ubersaw:* I̶'̶M̶ ̶G̶O̶I̶N̶G̶ ̶T̶O̶ ̶S̶A̶W̶ ̶T̶H̶R̶O̶U̶G̶H̶ ̶Y̶O̶U̶R̶ ̶M̶E̶-̶D̶I̶C̶. There were a few variations tested in the Team Fortress 2 Closed Beta. (Not to be confused with the Team Fortress 2 Beta.) These featured statistics such as "-25% damage" or "On hit: -20 health". Strangely, taunt-killing a disguised Spy will only yield 50% Uber, instead of the full 100%. One thing to note is that the vial full of liquid fills as Ubercharge increases, and empties as Ubercharge is consumed.
(Opinion: This is also my least favorite weapon in the game; it's a BS mechanic that prevents any other Medic melee weapon from being considered a serious choice. I mean, when official guides tell you to kill bind yourself if you see an Ubersaw Medic approaching, instead of just fighting him, you know there's a problem. In my opinion, you should only get the Uber if you get a taunt kill...high risk, high reward.)
*Vita-Saw:* The Vita-Saw strongly resembles the ADAM Harvester from the BioShock series. Similar to the Ubersaw, the vial will fill with a team-colored liquid as Uber increases, and drains as Uber decreases
*Amputator:* During development, it was going to be called the "Flammenspritze", which translates to "Flame Syringe". Annoyingly enough, I could only find one, poor-quality image of what the concept looked like at this point, but I guess it's better than nothing: static.wikia.nocookie.net/teamfortress/images/5/50/120px-AmpCept.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20131202021354
*Solem Vow:* The name in TF2Beta was "Beta Bonesaw". (Originality up the wazoo...) The publicity blurb says everything: _"Art lovers will cherish the bust of Hippocrates, commemorating a time when the Medic still thought doing no harm was a good idea."_
While I plan on redoing Spy, I'm not certain if I'll redo Sniper or not. (Odds are? Probably.) What I do know is that this entry was _long_ overdue

The needles in the needle gun are MASSIVE by any standard, hell getting hit by it would not only be EXCRUCIATING pain but moving around might break the needle depositing the broken fragments in your flesh!
If there's any "gun" that breaks the Geneva convention then the needle gun is the ultimate candidate.
Also because the quick fix is the medigun we see in the Meet the Medic video, I always assumed (In lore) that the quick fix was an earlier prototype of the medigun, it's even in the name "Quick Fix".
I was still pleasantly surprised when I found out the quick fix was just a blender (several years ago).
Even in some scrapped parts of meet the medic, we see the medic creating the quick fix, as a quick solution for their team being almos destroyed by BLU
Yeah, I believe the idea was that the Quick Fix was originally a stationary machine used to keep patients stable, then at the time of Meet the Medic he modifies it to be mobile and have its Uber (which then shorts out), then either he or Mann Co develop the stock Medi Gun based on that.
I never realized that the barrel of it was a blender, that's a really neat detail!

In the Uber Update, when the Quickfix was first added and Meet the Medic was revealed, the quickfix was described as the first medigun prototype, who's invulnerability function shorted out after the first use (that first use being during Meet the Medic). I assume he improved upon the design, but had to strip out knockback invulnerability and any possible boosted healrates in order for the damage invulnerability to still function and to attain higher overheal levels

With a heavy update comes a medic update. I think that a heavy update will include weapons or items that only work well with medic support and that the medic will have certain items which only help heavies.

theory: those fluid in the vaccinator, reacts differently as medic changes the resistance, creating a shield to a specific damage type
Huh, even without knowing Medic used a modified fire hose I still made a silly mod video called "water hose" where a Sniper used the medi gun as a water hose. Neat.

The blender on the Quick-Fix is actually a Beaker as due to him being a scientist and doctor it fits what he would've had when inventing the Medi-Gun
The Syringe Gun is actually a modified version of those guns used to seal door frames. Y’know, that squirt the foam?

I never stopped to look at all the saw designs, but now Im convinced they're some of the most badass and brutal looking weapons in the game
extra fact about medigun: The healing beam that shoots its made out of a mixture of blood, jarate, beer, whatever is on the mini healthkits, sandvich and electricity. This is shown on a prototype of "meet the medic" that was published by valve on the official Team Fortress UA-cam channel. Also on that prototype it's shown the origin of the spy head that's in the medic's fridge in the official "Meet the medic"

IIRC, the syringe gun was originally a needle gun, which was gonna be the primary for scout in some early versions
Too many damn details and secrets hidden in plain sight in this game. Been playing for nearly ten years and I had no idea there was bird poop on the quickfix.
Should have mentioned that the Kritzkrieg contains a bottle of Jarate in the barrel attachment. Also the Quick Fix was used in the "Meet the Medic" video, but was able to uber instead of quick fix uber during the SFM.
the dove dropping on the quick fix may also have been a reference to the fact that its model was originally supposed to be the default medigun, linking to the "Meet the Medic" SFM, where it was the only time doves were introduced as animals in TF2 :)

1:25, only over short range, since bolts were heavy. Crossbows and longbows were just as accurate as each other, and the longer firing length of a longbow afforded better range. Crossbows also had the problem of being painfully slow by comparison. The advantage of a crossbow is that it is easy to train someone to use a crossbow compared to a longbow, but if you had trained longbowmen, it was the superior weapon on just about all fronts, being largely responsible for the success of the English through most of the 100 years war (up until Joan of Arc turned it around at the very end)
You should've said the cooler on the overdose could be a reference to either Black Marketers Selling organs using a cooler to cool it... (sounds like something Medic would do)

A modern bone saw is an oscillating saw. Oscillating saws are also used in actual construction. They are similar to a front facing electric jigsaw.
I like medic in mvm but I do have a quick fix so that's a really good medigun and its charge is nearly as good as the stock medigun charge lol!

Another fun fact about the Quick Fix, it was Medic’s ASSUMABLY first medi-gun. Which may explain why Meet The Medic’s Quick Fix and the in-game Quick Fix work entirely different. This can also be assumed due to the deleted scenes that were planned to be used in Meet The Medic that shows the Medic working with the Blu Spy’s head to make the item. Whether or not this is fact worthy is up to you, it’s still pretty neat to see how the Medic’s healing has downgraded in style. Oh well.
bonus: the plaque on the Solemn Vow actually is a reference to an achievement woth the same name, in which you score the highest as medic on a team of 6 or more without killing any players.
